the trouble is that i need to evaluate the duplicate item from serialtextbox when the scanner put in the code?
I am trying to identify duplicate serial numbers from the following xml using XPath 1.0 and then evaluating it in .Net using an XPathNavigator.

I tried to do this by evaluating this

expression in a custom XSLT Context Function (implementing IXsltContextFunction like this MSDN example) in .Net but the Invoke function gets called one result at a time so I have no visibility of the other results to find duplicates.
1) Is there a way of doing this using a single XPath 1.0 expression?
2) Is there a way of passing in an array of elements into a single Invoke call of the custom XSLT Context Function class? I'm working in VB.Net but am happy with any C# examples anyone can share.
Wondering if there is a way I can duplicate controls and have them work properly? basically, i have a datagridview with code in it plus buttons that do various things to it etc etc. ideally, i'd like to be able to have two of these datagridviews on show. View 6 RepliesIn debug mode I get into a line that evaluates to false because the expression cannot be evaluated because of "Cannot evaluate expression because the code of the current method is optimized." Program does not assert or error out. If Item.Length then . . . (Here when I hover the mouse it displays "Cannot evaluate expression because the code of the current method is optimized"). What interesting is that it only occurs in one of .vb files.BTW, I'm programming in Compact Framework.

I have a USB bar code scanner that is acting as an HID keyboard emulation device. I want a web page that, for testing purposes, pops up a JavaScript alert when a scan is done. I don't want to tie the event to any visible control such as a textbox so thus, I won't have focus on any control to capture the scan input. Can this be done? I'm using VS 2010 with .NET 4.0 and VB.NET with a Symbol USB bar code scanner.

On form_load, I have this:

The output is when I connect the first client, it works fine. But, when I try to connect the second client, it prints out three times both the listbox1 item and the txtDisplay. It's like get caught in loop, but I have tried other kind of loops like for each and other string comparison too, still work that way.
How would one go about checking a listbox's items for duplicates? Basically I need to write a program that displays the teams from a text file provided by my instructor, in alphabetical order. I can do that, but what I can't figure out is how to prevent the For loop from adding a duplicate team. What I'm envisioning is:

This works except that my listbox is filled with the team every player is in rather than just listing all possible teams. Not exactly looking for someone to just give me the answer, as I understand things best when figuring them out on my own, so I suppose a hint is what I'm really after.
