What I am trying to create is a log in system, and in one of my forms I want to limit the date entered into a form. For example a user cannot enter a date more than seven days from todays date Which is what i achieved but what i am stuck on is preventing a user entering a date in the future
I am creating a Calender application using the monthly calender control.I am trying to implement a search for the calendar so a date can be entered into a text box which intern moves the calender to show the date entered. I have been try to figure this out with no luck, is it even possible to do?
I am writing a personal accountant software using VB2010. What I'm looking for now is to get the week date range of a specific date (Monday to Sunday). For example, if the given date is 16/03/2012, I want to get back:12/03/2012 -> 18/03/2012
I have an access form that shows a data table. when the form is opened, I want to filter the data in the date column to show only the records that don't have a date entered into the field.
I'm working in visual studio 2005 and developing a windows form that has a datagridview on it.
One of the cells is a Calendar Column type (custom made). I pulled the code for it off the internet - it basically allows the user to select the date from a small calendar.
When the date is changed, it gets the correct value and it also saves into the database with the correct value.
The problem is that it doesn't load onto the grid with the correct value. In fact, no matter what date I enter in, it always displays it as 1 day earlier. e.g. If I saved it to the database as 4/19/2012, it displays it as 4/18/2012.
I verified that there's no other column in the query that retrieves the data for the grid that contains the value it's displaying.
I am creating a program that takes into account pay from a job. I will try to describe the problem I am having using some psuedo code - so dont take syntax too seriously.
I created a structure that has some of the following values: Name as String Amount as Double FrequencyType as MyEnumerator
Now my problem is how do I add the date ranges into my structure? If your pay is weekly or twice a week, then I just need a single date because all other paydays should increment in 1 or 2 week blocks. But if the pay is twice a month I need two dates. It seems like there has got to be a better way then just having two dates in my structure and knowing that you just need the 2nd date if the FrequencyType is = 2 (TwiceAMonth).I was thinking that instead of a Structure I should use a class and then I could create a function that returns the date or dates depending on the enumeration type that you pass into it.What would be the "correct" way of doing this? I think I need a type of enumerator that allows for more then just integer type values.
I am developing a billing application to help out the billing lady who has been doing our billing by hand. I am essentially done. Except for one class of customer I cant wrap my head around. Nuts and Bolts:
1.Data comes from a table that shows Storage id, customer id, Billing Start date, Billing end date.
2.I am kicking the data back out to a table and Ill build her a nice little crystal she can run.
Problem:We rent storage space. If multiple customers use the same storage then they will split the cost of the daily fee. If there is 3 customers they each pay a third etc. This seems simple but If Customer 1 starts on 1/1/12 and ends 1/10/12 she pays 10 days. If Customer 2 comes in 1/3/12-1/9/12 they will split 7 days. If Customer 3 comes in only on 1/9/12 then they will all pay a third on that day. Now imagine this across 600+ storage units and 1000+ customers and each customer using multiple storage at any given time.
My biggest issue is I dont know how to express how we do that calculation by hand programmatically. By hand process and how I figure I am eating the elephant: Find every Customer that has used the Space in the billing period -Determine the unique storage numbers that were used during the billing cycle kick the results to a storage table on an access database. I am using a table because I figured it would be less of burden for the application then a list or array.
Determine where there is overlap - Use FOR to cycle through the orginal data table using the unigue. Here is where I am stuck. How do I compare the dates in a way to determine which customer is using it when compared to the others. Obviously i can determine the difference in dates between the start and end. It is getting the applicaiton to recognize the dates are with in the other dates. here is kind of what I was thinking obviosly this doesn't work I am just using the format so don't crush me too bad because I code like a caveman.
Dim CustomerDifference as time span Dim UniqueStorage as Integer Dim Customer as string
This is my first program and have absolutely no training in programming Visual Basic Studio 2008 so forgive me if I have missed something obvious.Form3 contains a StartDate(Date Time Picker1)and EndDate(Date Time Picker2) with a button1 which launches a Form4 containing a report( Microsoft Report Veiwer)
I have been able to generate a report but it gives me everything in the database instead of date range selected.I have tried generating queries, stored procedures and writing additional code but nothing seems to work.( Though I may of but them in the wrong place)
I need to calculate the location of intersections between multiple date ranges, and the number of overlapping intersections. Then I need to show which date/time ranges overlap each of those intersecting sections. It is slightly more complicated than that so I'll do my best to explain by providing an example. I am working in VB.Net, but C# examples are acceptable as well as I work in both.
We have several high risk tasks that involve the same system. Below I have three example jobs named HR1/2/3/4 with start and end date/times.
I want to quickly limit the time that someone can use my program and do it without licensing software for now. Can I use an If'Then statement to check to see if today's date is later that a date that Ihard type similar to this conceptually. I am using VB2008.
If today's date > 1-1-10 then Messagebox.Show ("Your trial period has expired.") Else Form2.show()
Ex. the month of April, the number of days is only 1 to 30. What if the user will enter the date range of 4/1/2011 to 4/31/2011 in the mask textbox? I am using Mask textbox because datetimepicker will not accept empty value and it cannot be empty either.
I'm asking this because I encountered an error when querying in MS SQL SERVER 2005. It says "The conversion of char data type to smalldatetime data type resulted to in an out-of-range smalldatetime value." I thought it was the casting or conversion problem. I've observed the SQL when transacting and I found no difference with my code.
So then, I just figured it out that my date exceeded the number of days of the April month.
I have a textbox where a user is supposed to enter a date. How can I check whether the entered date is in the correct date format?
Like this: 02/02/2008
not like this 022/22/-1 not like this 2009/02/02 not like this 02/Jun/2015 not like this 02/abc/2010
(I don't want to use DateTimePicker or MonthCalender).
EDIT 1 I tried it like this
Private Sub txtHireDate_Validated(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles txtHireDate.Validated Dim dateString As String = txtHireDate.Text Dim formats As String = "MM/dd/yyyy"
I want to check at client end whether the entered date in text box is future date. I mean this textbox should allow future date only. code the above problem using jquery or vb.net
I am trying to make a Windows Form in VS 2010 that is used to determine whether someone is entitled to a prize/medal/award whatever you want to call it. So basically if someone clicks on a check box to say they attended an event and they enter a date range between saying they attended the event between 01/01/2010 - 01/02/2010 and the requirement for the award is that they attended the event for more than 20 days then because the statement is true I would want a box to pop up and say person is entitled to receive a particular award. There are multiple awards available based on different conditions so to be eligible for so the result would be dependent upon which boxes and date ranges are selected. So For Award1 the logical argument is something along the lines of
IF Event1CheckBox = Checked AND Attendance => 20 Result = Entitled to Receive Award1 Else = Not Entitled To Receive Award1
i have 2 datetimepicker which are startdatedatetimepicker and enddatedatetimepicker.. the start date should not be more than end date..thus i need to check these two date.. here is my code...
I have a date time as a string, eg. "2010-08-02", I'm trying to convert it to UTC with the following code snippet..DateTime.ParseExact("2010-08-02Z", "yyyy-MM-ddZ", CultureInfo.InvariantCulture)When I print to the console, I get the following: 8/1/2010 5:00:00 PM.Is there a reason why the date shows up as the date before the date I'm trying to parse? I could just add a day to this to advance to the original day.
I am throwing some data out into Excel and am having some formatting troubles. I have 5 columns (date, time, a long number I don't want displayed in scientific notation - text is fine, text, text). I can get it all working with numberformat, however I have to do them different ways.
Date works this way cell.numberformat = "m/d/yy" and it formats it to say 3/1/11
Time works this way cell.numberformat = "h:mm AM/PM" and it formats it to say 8:07 AM
For the long number cell.numberformat = "@" and it doesn't change the format and it gets displayed in scientific notation
BUT if I use cell.style.numberformat = "@" it works as it should, but it messes up all of the date and time cells. Apparently when you use style.numberformat, it doesn't just apply to the cell you're working with. If I try using style.numberformat with the date and time formats, they don't change and are entered as if I didn't change the format at all.
I'm fairly new to ASP.NET & VB.I've been asked to take an existing textbox that is automatically filled with the current date and allow the user to either add a "+" or "-" and a number or a spcific number and convert that into a date.I underdstand the basic concept on how to do this, but I'm running into some problems using the proper commands in order for this to work. The Textbox is called txtDate. What I've tried to do is this:
If txtDate = '+' Or '-' Then DateAdd("d", txtDate, today) End If
Here is what the whole thing looks like:
Protected Sub DateEnter_Click(ByVal sender As[code].....
I need a function that would return true if the date provided was a payday or date of next few weeks paydays.Paydays are every 14 days on a Friday (not twice a month).I tried several attempts, but don't have a clue where to start, except that the function needs a reference date to calculate from. [code]
I am attempting to import data in a batch from an Excel Worksheet to a Sql Server database. Everything works except for the one date field in the spreadsheet. The date returned is off by four years from the value in the spreadsheet. Example: The Excel sheet has a date 10/24/2010 14:18, but when I look at the column in my query, the date is 10/23/2006 2:18. This pattern, 4 years and 1 day earlier, is repeated for every row in the worksheet.
The Excel column comes to me as a custom type, formatted m/d/yyyy h:mm. I receive this from an outside vendor and having them change the column is not going to be my simplest solution.
For what it's worth, the relevent part of the query is:
I'm trying the fetch only the date within the current and return how many rows Dim dc as new dataclassesdatacontext dim q=from p in dc.worktime where p.name.equals(session("name") and p.date ).count what I should I put after "p.date" ? And if I want to search for the record which there are record that are insert five days earlier, how to do that ? use (datetime.now - 5) ?
I have two tables: a schedule table that contains information about how an employee is scheduled and a numbers table in which each number corresponds to a date.
[Code]...
I can do this on the SQL side or the code side. I have Linq at my disposal if I need it. The table doesn't need to be compiled by SQL. This will happen dynamically on a website and should be as efficient as possible.I don't want to have to iterate through each and look for breaks in contiguous days if I don't have to.
I'm trying to write a program which compares the difference between any date in the past and the system date, showing how many days have elapsed since that date. This is what I've got so far:
Code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub TextBox2_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) End Sub
[code]....
That's what it looks like so far. I was wondering how you can automate the top label so it automatically comes up with the date when the program is run.Plus, I need to know how to display the dates difference (how many days have elapsed between the system date and the user's chosen date) in the bottom label.
Would it be possible to search a table, confining to a specific date range based on a date-time column, and get a count of the 10 most used words in a particular var-char column excluding a list of words? All in SQL?Currently I am pulling out the records that match and sorting through the contents outside of SQL, I would think where I can do it directly on the server it would be more efficient.(SQL 2008)
