I was wondering if there is a code i could add to my applicatio that will delete a data entry from a database. I'm designing a voting application as my project and i want a situation where an access code is good for only one entry. i put my code for retrieving the code below.
Is there anything that i can add to the code that will delete the entry that was used to login immediately after authentication?
Private Sub btnCodeEnter_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCodeEnter.Click
Dim connect As String
Dim query As String
Dim dbProvider As String
Dim dbsource As String
I'mvery new to VB2008 and have basically no idea regarding much of coding. I have attached a copy of my form. Basically, I have a db named "employee.mdb" with table "Employee". It has 3 fields Name, Dept and Designation. I want to connect my db with the form and want the following functions (when the respective buttons are clicked)Add: Add a new record to the db and save it without overwriting an existing record.Delete: Delete the selected record from the dbSave: Save all details<<: Move to the previous record>>: Move to the next record. I hope I have explained myself clearly
I am doing a project on creating a database using vb.net. I need to be able to add records, save, delete and retrieve these data. I am a beginner so far I have created the design I need to be able to link many forms such as order form, find customers, add customers etc. How do i go about this.
Working on Access 2007 and Visual Studio 2008, i already connected my database to the application and can see the data on datagrids and can add or edit or delete records, the problem is that those changes do not go to the database, so when i close and reopen the application, i found the old data as it was before. Note: i used the wizard to add the connection, not the code.
I have a database, added in data sources. I can manage records with automatically generated database toolbar.I want buttons for Add, Replace, Erase data from Database. So far i've seen some Tutorials but they are most likely for VB6 and also i'm really new on VB at all.
So i've uploaded all my project folder and my access database for you to rewiev it.Also excuse me for my englsih. It's not my native language. And again i'm new on VB, so i can ask dumm questions about basic. I can use some qualty VB 2008 tutorials links too.
I am using MS Access 2007 as database and VB 2008 to build an application to show the content of 2 tables as a single table.I have two tables in MS Access and i have linked both the tables using "ID" as primary key(1st Table),foreign key(2nd Table). I used Query Wizard to show the data of both tables in a single table(3rd Table).I am able to view the content of all 3 tables using datagridview in vb 2008(Using Code), but i am unable to add, delete, save and search the content of the table using code. My concern is,i will be able to do all these operations using codes only.Would you please help me out in this.
My apologies I have posted this in the wrong catagory It should be in VB.net, my mistake)Hi guys I posted this question at the end of another topic I started but I think it will be over looked as the origional topic was solved of the dreamincode community You must all be getting sick of my quexstions by now haha I suppose you don't learn if you dont ask.
Anyway I have used the delete sql method to delete data from a database, I want to refresh the data in the form after the record has been deleted. Do I have to close the form and then open an new instance of it? or is there another way I can refresh the data?

Im making a program that displays television shows and the time they are on. Im using a datgridview and a MS Access Database and i got it to add items at the right times and I can delete the items but i have to use e.rowindex as the value object for the delete dommand.[code]...
I been tring to delete a row in my database for some time now.
I have tried a number of ways none of which have been succesful
Code: Private Sub TVDeletebtn_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TVDeletebtn.Click Dim modelnumber As String = DVDModeltxt.Text Dim cmdbuilder As
You can see my various attempts. my orignal attempts where following the following guide [URL] when the dataAdaptor.Update(TVData, "Television") runs it trys to target one of my other tables and an error is caused.
add edit and delete records in access using vb.net.i got textbox 1 to5 and three buttons which named addnew ,edit, delete.my database is in name records.mdb i want user to enter the information and click addnew button and the system save the records and so on with edit and delete.
I'm creating an application that adds and deletes records from a microsoft access database. The language I'm using is VB2008. I am importing the database through a wizard. I can add records and delete records, but I cannot delete a newly added record without closing the form first. When i reopen the form, I can delete the record. Here is how I have my database setup:
'Bind user info to the controls. AUSERDataSet = New BulldogUsersDataSet AUSERTableAdapter = New BulldogUsersDataSetTableAdapters.UsersTableAdapter AUSERTableAdapter.Fill(AUSERDataSet.Users) ' Setup the binding source. AUSERBindingSource = New BindingSource
how to do it, but the tutorial is not applicable on the program that I wish to do. The tutorial tells you to add 4 navigation buttons so that you can navigate the database(first, last, back, and forward). Then an update and delete button. But if this is what I will do, it would take 10 years to navigate the database and update a record. Now, what I want to do is just for the user to input a unique ID and click search button(which I have already done). Then the update would be easier. How can I update or delete a record using this method?
Visual Studio 2010 with Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 ConnectionI have tried multiple ways to do this fought through Concurrency issuescurrent code gives no errors however when I re Fill DataSet nothing has been removed from database...
Current code for Button1(reload data), Button2(delete row): Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
If you remove the AcceptChanges I get a concurrency violation for Deleted row information cannot be accessed through the row.
basically, i have one delete form, where i will load the firstname from a table in access(hardcode) to listbox.then when a user choose the first name, from list box and click delete.the entire row related to the first name should be delete.
The code, i wrote so far..
Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.OleDb Public Class Delete Dim inc, MaxRows As Integer
I have VB 2005 windows application that is reading and writing records into Access 2003 database. After I deployed application to multiple servers - the database stays locked all the time - even if nobody has it open. When I check open files through Computer Manage - it doesn't show that anybody has it open. Yet - I can't delete .ldb file, I can't repair and compact the database to replace existing database, I can't rename database to replace it with other version.
How can be find out which file is going to delete when, user provides command like DELETE or SHIFT + DELETE or by programmatically gives DELETE command. Well I know about FileSystemWatcher Class, but this class doesn't provide information before delete...
