Sep 16, 2009How would I make my VB Program detect mouse clicks? I want the code in a timer. So if I turn the timer on, my program will detect a Mouse click and then do the rest of the Timer code. And after the timer code is done, I want it to do it again until the timer is closed. So if the timer is on, every time I click the mouse, (anywhere on screen) it will do the rest of timer code.

Mar 21, 2011I am fairly new to visual basic and have written this program to detect a change in a selected pixel on the screen. When the pixel changes, a sound plays every x seconds. It works fine but after a few hours of operation a possible memory leak causes it to either crash the program or the PC. I have watched the process and I can see 4k added to it every 4 seconds or so. Where this memory leak is coming from?

Mar 6, 2010I'm attempting to convert VB 5.0 source code to VB 2008. The converted code will then be slightly altered to facilitate its incorporation into a larger project that I'm developing in VB 2008. After using the conversion wizard (which is actually written for VB 6.0), I have 49 unresolved issues -- less than I expected. Much has changed since the days of my prowess as a programmer (Fortran in the 70's), so working my way through even as few as 49 issues will be a challenge, and will (no doubt) take me a while.
The UI for the VB 5.0 code I'm converting is a "virtual remote," with control buttons that (when clicked) trigger communication to a USB-connected device. With assistance, I've been able to develop my own "virtual remote," contained within my VB 2008 project. Eventually, I will "substitute" mine for the original. For now, though, I'm wanting to use MY "virtual remote" to trigger the original.
I have the executable for the VB 5.0 program, and can run it simultaneously with my "under-development" VB 2008 code. Problem is: I don't know how to cause a "click" on MY virtual remote to trigger a click on the original virtual remote (which is being "monitored" by the other program).

Jan 4, 2011I need to create a program that can run code each time the user clicks, I can't use windows forums since its on another program. If the code can detect global mouse clicks(system wide) or only on one program it's fine.
I've done some digging and it looks like windows API can solve my problem but i really suck at using windows API and it looks like SetWindowsHookEx() can solve my problem but i don't know how to use it correctly. This is the code from Pinvoke that I modified to hopefully work for a mouse click. i'm having trouble getting this to work.

Apr 15, 2012I have two custom action listers. One that handles Mouse.Click and one that handles Mouse.MouseDown. My question to you is, can I delay the mouse down event so that it does not intefere with the code of the Mouse.Click event? I have tried adding a timer and waiting x amount then setting a bool value to true, but the code executes to fast and it skips the other code.

Oct 16, 2011I picked vb.net for this question since it's the only prgramming language I am fairly familair with, but if C++ or something else is more suited for this, I am willing to learn something new.What I am trying to do is:Retrieve text from database (this already works in vb.net) and copy it to clipboard Switch primary screen to the external application I want to work with (example: word or open office) Emulate key-press "Enter" Paste text and hit enter again Emulate key-press CTRL and then emulate a click on a pre-defined spot on the screen (like 500pixels from left, 740pixels from top). Save screenshot, using a second value from the database as the filename (the naming part should be easy) Emulate another click on another pre-defined spot Repeat for next text in database.I wouldn't know where to start, though. I guess the most important part of what I'm trying to achieve is; switching focus to an external application and emulate keypresses and mouse clicks on it.

Oct 12, 2010I have defined a class which inherits PictureBox-component.In this class I have a mouseClick and mouseDoubleClick events overridden.On mouseClick the image is selected. Now if user click it again, it is delesected.The mouseDoubleClick event starts the video which this picture is pointing to.Now the problem is that when user doubleclicks the pictureBox it actually calls the mouseClick-event twice (select-deselect) and does not call the mouseDoubleClick-event. How can I define it so that if mouseclicks are done as doubleclicks then doubleClick-event is called, not the click event twice?
