WebBrowser Control - Possible To Disable Image Loading?

Sep 6, 2007

Is it possible to disable image loading on the webBrowser control? - So that pages load faster. I just want the HTML of the page to work with in my code - I don't wish for the page to be displayed. And I know that using httpwebrequest or webclient would normally be the best option for this kind of thing but I need to browse secure https pages and I don't know if that's possible with anything other than the webBrowser control.

Crash When Loading Webpage?

Oct 9, 2010

Basically, I have a Web Browser object on a Visual Basic form. However, about 5 seconds after it finishes loading ANY webpage, the entire program stops responding. I figured the issue was related to internet explorer, so I updated to Internet Explorer 9 Beta and the issue is fixed (this is a very strange fix)!!! However, Internet Explorer 9 is not available for Windows XP. what might be causing this and a possible solution for computers that are running XP?

VB Datagrid Disable AutoScrolling Focus On Selected Column?

Jun 7, 2011

My problem is I have a data grid in Visual Basic, it works fine but as the columns extend past the width of the window I needed a scroll bar. This is where the problem arose. When a column past the 4th is clicked the scrollbar will shift to give it focus. As there are check boxes here they are constantly clicked and when they are the scroll bar shifts but the button isn't checked and must be clicked again. I was hoping there was a way to disable this Auto focus so clicking a column will not cause the scrollbar to move.

Disable KeyStroke During Form Loading?

Dec 3, 2009

Problem: Form hasn't fully initialize but shortcut keys can be usedDetails: Launch an mdi child with database access retrieving data, and user is already using the shortcut keys while the data is still been retrieve which results to error since object hasn't fully initialize yet.

Goal: Hinder user from using shortcut keys by disabling the keys at initialization then enabling it after all objects are good to go.

Another Situation is:A form with a gridview and a button.I got a hotkey that when press, handles a gridview getfocus event.

The problem is that the gridview is still making its instance and when press the hotkey, it activates the getfocus property of that gridview(which is still creating its instance).

VS 2010 Loading Webpage Localhost (Xampp)

Oct 5, 2011

I'm trying to see if a file I have loaded is located in the "Xampp-localhost-folder".

I'm loading a php-file-path into a textbox. After pressing a button the php file is loaded in a webbrowser. Now here's a problem. .PHP-files don't load local. The user needs to have at least Apache (MySQL/PHP/FileZilla FTP Server etc) installed so the page can be loaded via localhost.

The most important service that needs to be running is httpd.exe (Apache) or FileZillaServer.exe.

Public Function ProcessesRunning(ByVal ProcessName As String) As Integer
Try
Return Process.GetProcessesByName(ProcessName).GetUpperBound(0) + 1

Disable The Focus To Parent Window(Form) While The Msgbox Is Opened?

Dec 13, 2008

I am having form called Test1 which contains button( Button1). When I press the button the message box is getting displaying,but at the same time I am accessing the Form Test1. It should not be the case, because before closing the message box the control should not allow to focus the Test1. But in my case the control is allowing to focus the Test1(form) before closing the message box.

Sample code.

If myReader.Read() Then
MsgBox("Matched record exist.", MsgBoxStyle.Information, "Data Tool")

Application That Measure Response And Loading Time Of Webpage

Sep 6, 2009

I like to make an console application to measure the time it takes to fully load a web page, what's the best approach to do that? The purpose of this small app is to monitor some pages in a website, in a predetermined interval, in order to be able to know beforehand if something is going wrong with the webserver or the database server. It would be nice to be able to measure the time it takes to fully load the the page (images, css, javascript, etc). I have some code but I is not measuring the fully page.

Dim sw As New System.Diagnostics.Stopwatch
Dim req As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = CType(HttpWebRequest.Create("[URL]"), HttpWebRequest)
sw.Start()
Dim res As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = CType(req.GetResponse(), HttpWebResponse)
sw.Stop()
Dim timeToLoad As TimeSpan = sw.Elapsed

Disable Hyperlinks In WebBrowser?

Aug 7, 2009

I am extremely new to Visual Basic, and I have only so far made an e-mail sender and an SMS sender (through e-mail).

So I am having troubles, I made a quick Web browser that I only want to show one page when you press a button ( you have to enter a name into a textbox and it will then make the URL to show), but the page has some links on it, which I don't want people to click on.

1) Disable the hyperlinks

2) Disable left clicks in the browser

3) Make the browser somehow only visible and not actually interactive with a mouse

I honestly have been searching for hours for a solution and also trying different things, but to no avail.[cod]e...

Rendering A Webpage Without Using The Webbrowser Control In .net?

Feb 19, 2012

I've pulled down a webpage using a WebRequest object, and need to parse it, but first I need to render it since there is scripting on the page. I don't want to use the WebBrowser control because that forces me to jump out of my current function to the DocumentCompleted event, and "lose my place" (so to speak). Is there any way for me to pull down a URL using a WebRequest object and have the page rendered but still stay in my function?

Use Webbrowser With An Adobe Flash Webpage?

Aug 15, 2011

Last year my team wrote a VB .Net project that used the webbrowser control to automatically fill out user forms, click images, action buttons etc. for a web application used in our company. This year, the web application was upgraded to version 3.0. We got the application in our area so that we can adjust the code in our application to work with the upgraded web application.However, the new web application is loaded with Adobe Flash. We cannot "right-click" in the window to retrieve the Source Code (this is how we got the information from the last web application, right-click and read the HTML). When we right-click, we only get options to change Adobe settings.How do I find the source code for the web page that uses Adobe Flash in order to use our application to communicate with it and fill out the fields, click buttons, etc.?
