I've got an Access 2007 table with names of people and the unique ID # of their sponsoring agencies. There is a second table in the accdb with the sponsoring agencies and their unique ID #. How do I display the actual agency name, and not the ID #, in a combobox?
What I want to see is this:
John Doe ABC Corporation (John Doe in textbox, ABC in combo)
The results I'm getting is this however:
John Doe 10
I'm using the code below to display the agency and name. I know this is not the right code but don't know what other code to use.

I have a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn, and want to switch the style of the ComboBox control between DropDownList and DropDown (mainly for the text field editing capability). I'd like to do this on a row-by-row basis (at the DataGridViewComboBoxCell level).How would I do that programatically? Inside this DataGridView i have several columns of which one is combobox and the others are textboxes.The combobox column is populated with values from a MySql database table using a query. So far so good. What i want next is to populate a certain textbox from that DataGridView, automatically after a value from the combobox is selected. When a value is selected from the dropdown list of the combobox, that value is used in a SQL query to find the value that will be displayed in the textbox.All the textboxes and the combobox are inside the DataGridView!)I did this using DataGridView EditingControlShowing event because a DataGridViewComboBoxCell does not have aSelectedIndexChanged event.The value is displayed correctly in the textbox, but the problem is that the value selected from the combobox disappears after the selection, and the combobox remains empty. I can use this code to set the DisplayMember, but the ValueMemeber is always the name of the field and not the field values. I can even reverse and put the ID in the DisplayMember and it works. Not sure what I'm missing here.

I can use the FindExactString method if I know the DisplayMember, but not if I only know the ValueMember.In explanation, the value member is an employee Number, the display member is the Name. I get the employee number from a detail item in another table and now I want to set the combobox to display the Name that goes with that detail item.

I cannot change the validation method to "infer" the value from the caption. I have no control over that service. I got a Combobox with some items (item1-item7) to select and 54ish Buttons(sButton1-sButton54). Also an array(53) called Buttons. The array is filled with the items to select, like: Buttons(0) = "item 1, item 2" Everytime another item in the Combobox is selected, I'd like only some of the Buttons to change their Image. Therefore I got the array. If Item 1 is selected and Buttons(0) contains the item1 I'd like to change the Button1's image.edit: It works with changing the image of every Button:

But I'd prefer to change all in one go (Loop) instead.

In my app I have a combobox and a sub wich handles the SelectedIndexChanged. It all works fine, but if the user goes crazy with the mouse scrollwheel changing the selected item in the combobox, the program will sometimes stop working for different reasons.
Now, what I want to do is to make some sort of sleep/wait function in the SelectedIndexChanged event handler, so that if the index hasn't changed in let's say 100 milliseconds, it will continue the code. If the index has changed, it will wait until the user has finished going crazy
What is the best solution to accomplish something like this? I've been thinking about using Thread.Sleep, but I can't find the correct way of doing it.
Ok so i'm trying to set up my program so that when I choose WinRar it opens a new window asking which architecture to use. I have a combobox set up with both architectures in it. I have the accept button disabled so that you have to choose an architecture and I figured out how to make it so that when you select one architecture it will enable the accept button but if you choose the other architecture it disables the button.
