Display Data From DATABASE TO LABEL - VB 2010

I have a VB app and it has a login feature installed. Now when someone logs in into the app I want the users First Name and Last Name to be displayed on my second form where the user gets redirected on a sucesfull login. I don't know how to accomplish this as I am quite new to VB. I have provided my login code below (btw it uses an online database):

I think the code which provides the first name and last name need to check the users username which was provided on the first form and search through the DB. Then when it has found the record it should recieve the First Name and Last name.

I was wondering how to get a certain data from a MS database and display in a label. Example(Database entries)

The name will be displayed in the label depending on the year and number typed in two text boxes. So if typed 2009 and 1001, the label should display name2. I don't have any background on SQL. The only thing I did for now is that I added the database in the data sources and added a TableAdapter.

I'm currently working on a Capstone Point of Sales project. We're using a multi-column list box to pull up the item #, Item Name, Quantity(may be deleted) and Price. I want to get a value from my database and display it in a label. For example I have a table named customers and one column of it is called Cust_ID, now I want to get the value of the column Cust_ID and place it in my label. I used lastName as a search condition to get just a specific Cust_Id. [Code]. The only problem I have is how will I transfer the cust_ID to my label, I have no idea how I will do this.

I have a form to add new records with label at the top to show the ID (number of row suppose to be newly as soon as save/update button is press). Eg: There had been 20 rows, ID counts to 20. The next row should be 20+1, and i want it to be appeared in the lblIDnumber.

This question is a follow up to an earlier question I had that was quickly resolved. The previous question can be found here: Selecting TOP 4 records from multiple SQL Server tables. Using vb.net..I selected the top 4 rows from multiple SQL tables ordered by date. How would I then go about placing that data into labels. There should be 16 items in total (4 columns, 4 rows). However if I try to use sqldatareader I only get items 0-3 and anything more is outside of the array. Should I not be using an IF statement in this case? Those who are looking for an example like this, might find it useful (or not). I know i was looking for one like this for over a week. Ok now, to make this codes work properly, you have to make a Database in Ms Access (I used MS Access 2007) . Create a table of two Columns, one name Debit and one name Credit. Both of the Columns Data Types must be Long Integers or you might get some conversion errors at run time. Now save the database in Access 2000-2003 Database format. And last of all, put the database in your projects DebugBin directory to avoid the database Connection Errors.

I have a situation where I have a label and a textbox that display a time.The database field is set as datetime the label data binding is set to custom HH:mm the textbox data binding is set to custom HH:mm and masked with __:__ Military time HH:mm wants to display as 07/09/2010 in the label and 09:20 on the textbox But it is still wanting to display the date.

I'm seeing a strange problem with the labels on the X axis of my charts. I've setup two chart areas and aligned them (which displays fine) and the user can manipulate the chart by selecting different date resolutions (Year, Month, Day, Week, Hour) and different time periods.
The issue I'm seeing is that if a user selects say Months as the date resolution the X axis label display is inconsistent. If a fairly broad range for the dates is selected the X axis displays absolutely fine but as the date range narrows the X axis starts to duplicate labels ( please see the attached images). The second Image had a date range of 1st of May to 1st of August and as you can see the labels are duplicated. This is my first go with the chart control so I could be missing something basic. [Code]

I have names of all labels in a table of an Access database (one field is a form name- it can be repeated, the second field is a label name - it must be unique for the same form, the third field is a text of this label). I have a an idea of how a background worker works but I was hoping someone could give me some advice. If I run a background worker, and in the Do work if I run some coding which edits a file, and in the RunWorkerCompleted I display a label to say "Done". Will the label only say done once the coding for editing the file has completed OR do i need to put this code inside a process or something similar? and the label will only say done once it says process. close?

I currently have a SQL Server database with a number of terms along with their definitions and the textbook chapter in additional columns of the database.In my application,I have a listbox which displays the terms; however, I wanted to allow the user to specify a lowerbound and upperbound for the chapters and the application would only display the terms between those two chapters. For example, the user inputs chapter 2 and chapter 5 and the application displays in the listbox all terms that are from chapters 2-5 inclusive.

I'm creating a project for my brother's thesis for his VB subject.Now, the thing is, I'm trying to display row data from database to the (already binded) textboxes in form1. As you may know, this procedure requires that the program:
1. Declares an sqldatareader, sqlcommand, and an sqlconnection.
2. open the sqlconnection.
3. ....and use the sqldatareader to fetch the data from the source file.
The database file is made using sql server compact 3.5 and is located on same pc as where I'm making the program.The problem is, I'm getting stumped in trying to connect to the sql server. I'm getting a 26 error "error locating server/instance specified". installing sql server 2008 management studio to allow remote connections (which was already allowed in the 1st place), enabling TCP/named pipes protocol in the config manager, and enabling sql server browser service. I dont have spi firewall on since my isp has its own firewall on and xp fwall is off too. What I'm not sure about is my connection string as it might have been impeding me to connnect to server. How do I form out the correct connect string?

at run time in SALES ORDER i saw that the CUSTOMERis not available in that combo then i want to add new customer there which save in my CUSTOMER data base WITH OUT LOSSING WHT EVER I INSERT IN SALES ORDER.

i know how to write a code to display data from the database into a datagridview, and i know how to use text boxs for uplying chnages on the database and directly display them in the datagridview, but what i want is to be able to aply changes without using textbox but directly the datagridview, so the user will be able to see that data on the datagriedview and insert his data in its field and update other and when he saves it will directly effect the database.
