I once read somewhere it was quite simple (few lines of code) to display a webpage in a webbrowser control, by passing the control the HTML from a string, or predefined code.

I'm trying to get a local HTML file to display within a WebBrowser in a VB.NET program. I'm using the code below, however it doesn't seem to work, and I can't figure out why:[code]The first method produces the error "" in the Debug console when I go to run it. If I try it with out the @, I get an empty white page. If I change the address, however ,so I know its a broken URL, I get a 404 message, which makes it seem like it's finding the file but not rendering it?The second method does the same as the first except no error is produced, its like its finding the text but doing nothing.

It loads an HTML document into the VB 6 WebBrowser control and then uses the following command to print the document without any print dialog box:mfrmPrint.WebBrowser1.ExecWB OLECMDID_PRINT, OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER, PRINT_DONTBOTHERUSER_WAITFORCOMPLETIONI have also just implemented a .NET C# DLL that uses the axDHTMLEDLib. It also works fine on my XP computer.

I'm trying to open up an html file (with explorer) and navigate to a specific anchor location. The user should just see the file open up at the anchor's position. It's a local html document, not on the web, if that makes any difference. How can I do this in Visual Basic 2008?
So far I've been opening html files with Process.Start(filename) or Shell(filename, "explorer.exe", etc), but that doesn't seem to work with the additional html anchor tag (#anchorname) at the end of the file name. Also I've looked at webbrowser control, but as near I can tell that is more for editing html files.
I really hate asking all these questions, but my firewall blocks a lot of the links provided in examples on this forum. (Most forums)

Question for all of the more experienced programmers out there. I am working on a program with a tab control. One tab will hold a webbrowser control within it. What I am trying to accomplish to have it pull a specific url from my website to the webbrowser control if the person is connected to the internet, BUT if they don't have a internet connection at the time, I would like to display a local html file instead

AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

I'm trying to select a button in a webbrowser on the website twitterfeed.com. My usual solution of finding the element and sending invokemember("click") doesn't seem to work for this particular page, and the button doesn't have an id. The button has the following code:
<a class="btn_1" href="#" onclick="document.forms[0].submit();return false;"> "Continue to Step 2" <span> </a>
I assume the .submit() is referring to an html function, so can I simply call that function from the webbrowser somehow?
I'm making a program that creates a url for an image and where the url originall comes from is where I want the new url to go, so how could I change the specific html for that image in the open web browser such as firefox. View 1 RepliesI'm loading HTML into the web browser control, and adding a bit of javascript that hightlights a section of html when the user clicks on the area, by changing the classname. If you know the FireBug addin for Firefox, it's very similar to that. But what I need to do after this, is take the HTML source, and find where they clicked. But when I get the DocumentText of the webbrowser control, it's the original source. Not the source with the added class name.
Is there a way to get the source code with the javascript generated html?
I'm currently creating a HTML editor using a WebBrowser control and using IHTMLDocument2, but I'm currently having a problem that when I insert a table the user is unable to resize the table columns by dragging the border.
I was wondering whether anyone had done anything similar using IHTMLDocument2 and how I would be able to allow for the user to resize the tables like that. Or if anyone knows any good HTML editors that are written in VB.Net and are open source, unfortunately this is a requirement as I have to do some custom stuff for my customer.
