Importing A Local HTML File / Code Into A WebBrowser
Dec 6, 2011
I'm trying to get a local HTML file to display within a WebBrowser in a VB.NET program. I'm using the code below, however it doesn't seem to work, and I can't figure out why:[code]The first method produces the error "" in the Debug console when I go to run it. If I try it with out the @, I get an empty white page. If I change the address, however ,so I know its a broken URL, I get a 404 message, which makes it seem like it's finding the file but not rendering it?The second method does the same as the first except no error is produced, its like its finding the text but doing nothing.

I have code that works fine on my XP machine. It loads an HTML document into the VB 6 WebBrowser control and then uses the following command to print the document without any print dialog box:mfrmPrint.WebBrowser1.ExecWB OLECMDID_PRINT, OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER, PRINT_DONTBOTHERUSER_WAITFORCOMPLETIONI have also just implemented a .NET C# DLL that uses the axDHTMLEDLib. It also works fine on my XP computer.

I'm trying to get the HTML from a frame in a website which is loaded into a WebBrowser in my application.
I have this WebBrowser so that the user can login easily by putting the username and password on the login form of the page so that i can get the HTML code from the protected page.
However, i have to read the frame code while the WebBrowser being on the main page because if i enter the frame, it redirects me to the main page again so there is no way of reading the frame code by entering it.
So i don't know how to read the frame HTML code of a website[url]...

I want to open a local html file in the user's default Web browser, and jump to an anchor within that file. In other words, I would like to have a result similar to clicking a link to localfile.html#my_anchor.
I've been using the System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(String) method to open html files, and this works fine. In the following example, I open a file named "info.html" in the "SomeInfo" subfolder of the folder containing the application:
Dim
ProcID As
Process

I once read somewhere it was quite simple (few lines of code) to display a webpage in a webbrowser control, by passing the control the HTML from a string, or predefined code.

Question for all of the more experienced programmers out there. I am working on a program with a tab control. One tab will hold a webbrowser control within it. What I am trying to accomplish to have it pull a specific url from my website to the webbrowser control if the person is connected to the internet, BUT if they don't have a internet connection at the time, I would like to display a local html file instead

We're writing a Windows client application in VB.NET. On the first launch of the application it loads a local HTML file "User Guide" for the user to get acquainted with the new software. There is also a menu option to access the content which also produces the same error. Whenever the page is launched, a dialog box appears stating that "The system could not find the specified file.", and then the browser windows loads the content. This is IE8 specific, as we previously tested with IE6 and 7 as well as Firefox with no problems.
Apparently this behavior is also happening within Outlook 2007 for some of our users whenever they click a link in an email, but only on the first link they click. Also, one condition for the error to appear is that no IE8 window is currently running, otherwise another tab opens and loads the content just fine. We get this error on XP and Vista.

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?

I have the following on my interface / webform: <div id="mydiv" class="forceHeight" runat="server" />
now I have a dondition in my code behind where if a certain situation is true I need to remove the forceHeight class from this control. I know in C# you can use:
mydiv.CssClass.Replace("forceHeight", ""); I'm not so sure how you do this using VB? Intellisense doesn't offer me this option?

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

I'm letting my users write their own HTML from my webpage. When they click the preview button, my code behind needs access to controls on the page (and so I understand I can't use a web method here). It builds the HTML and saves it as a file on the server. My question is: Once the file has been made, I want to automatically open the file in a new window for the user to see their handy work. I'm using vb.net, but happy to receive c# answers.

How do I read/get text/line between specific text. For example:
my html-file contains
<title>This is my Title</title>
I have found a code, which I needed to convert from C#, but it doesn't work:
Private Shared Function GetTitle(html As String) As String
Dim r As New Regex("<title.*?>")
Dim Title_start As Integer = 0
[Code].....
I have already loaded the html-text into a rtb, so perhaps is easier to extract it from there.

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:
<input name="user_status" value="3" />
I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:
<input class="someclass" type="hidden" value="3" name="user_status" />
I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

I'm guessing there is a really simple answer to this but i've spent the best part of 2 days trying to get it to work and cannot figure it out.Basically, I want is the webbrowser to point to a local folder on a machine. A different one depending on who is logged on. The code I have so far is as follows.
Imports System.IO
Public Class frmFav
Private Sub frmFav_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Dim username As String
[code]....
I cannot get the URL value of the webbrowser (FavProgs) to take the value of directoryname. If I set the URL value in the properties for FavProgs it does what I want it to do perfectly.

I have this code set up to navigate to a certain .html document depending on what's selected from a ListBox:
Private Sub FileList_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FileList.SelectedIndexChanged
HelpWindow.Navigate(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory & "help" & fileArray(FileList.SelectedIndex, 1))
End Sub
The problem is, when I first select something in the ListBox, it successfully navigates to that file and displays it. But when I select something a second time it doesn't change.
All of the paths it's trying to navigate to are correct. I've checked this 1000 times.

I'm currently thinking up a program I can sneak onto my computer at work, and it all hinges on one key question...Does the WebBrowser Object inherit any local restrictions? EG, If Facebook is blocked on IE/Chrome would it be blocked on the WebBrowser Object?
