I have created an auto emailer to distribute our work routes for my colleagues. Problem is I made it easy for the management team to update the list. List is ordered by Tech Number, First name, Last name, Email address.
I have coded this in VB.NET 2008 using Database sources and drag-n-drop the table on the form. I let VB do most of the coding of the connection and text boxes. (IE If (Tech_TextBox.Text <> "9999") Then)What I would like to do, instead of using a bogus tech number as an exit. I need an 'IF Then" or 'DO UNTIL' after last record.

I need to use the BindingNavigator to cycle thru the records of one of the tables in an Access database. The table has 5 text fields and 3 image fields. On a form I have placed 5 TextBoxes and 3 PictureBoxes. I included a BindingSource control and BindingNavigator control and configured them. This automatically generated the TableAdapter, BindingSource and Dataset. I then manually bound each TextBox and PictureBox using the DataBindings area in each of their Properties. I can run the program and display the records, but only the Text fields show anything. The images are not displayed in the PictureBoxes.

I have records in a database. Each record has a Picture path in it eg. "C:\Pics\Image1.jpg". I would like to display a record from my database and also the picture for that record, in a .rdlc report in vb .net 2008. i have succeded in displaying the record but just can't get the picture to show. From reading up on this in .Net it seems that using the Binary Reader seek method would be the alternative to using old vb6 random access code. The problem is the Binary Reader Seek method goes by Byte position instead of record number. How to convert my code to use a binary reader.

View 1 Repliesi'm trying to display a random messagebox that displays a message associated with a character. the character image displays and the user clicks a button to guess the character if it is correct, one of three messages should randomly appear that is associated with that character (there are 4 characters, so there are 12 possible messages total. 3 for each character) but as it stands now, the picture box on the form displays the character name so the user doesn't have to guess which button to push. i need to remove the name from beneath the picture so only the buttons have the name and the user is forced to guess and i don't have the messages randomly popping up. only a messabebox that says correct i added a message box in the code but i can't figure out how to randomly get the messages associated with the characters to appear?

The problem is that... the new record which i have inserted in data table is been displayed at the last row of datagrid which i am having trouble finding it out whether the data is been inserted or not.
