How to compare Two Dates if it is Less Than or Greater Than?? I want to know the code that shows an msgbox "Date Past" if the date in a datepicker is already past.
For the past day or so, I have been trying to compare values in my SQL server against an actual calendar. I have had mixed luck with this and I have exhausted my limited knowledge. I am looking for a shove in the right direction.
Background:Right now, I have a program that writes a record to a database when the program completes successfully. This time stamp has both the date and time on the SQL box. I want to grab that information and compare it against the basic calendar. I have attached a picture that should help explain things. This is just my test app,
I'm trying to make this program which compares the difference between any date in the past and the system date, showing how many days have elapsed since that date. This is the layout I've created so far, the two date boxes currently show the system date so even if I change the system date, both those boxes will adjust to show it as well. I want to try and make the system date a box without a drop down arrow and so you cannot edit the box at all. The box below is fine how it is as the user can enter any date they desire. And the text box at the bottom needs to show the difference between the system date and the inputted date.
i m in great need for help regarding my project. the project is ECG recording ,i want to save these ecg signals in text file the input is taken from sound card... but now i need to save them in text file.... also i want to compare them.. with a standard ECG wave.. for calibration purpose only. if any thing is not clear i can send the whole project coding for better understanding...jst tell me the mail-id.urgently need help...one more thing.. along with ecg signals temperature is also be stored in the same text file for a particular recording..
how would it be possible to sort a text file?i have a file named "Alarms.txt" and I am using a streamwriter to save the date and time of the alarm into the file. What I want to do is everytime I insert a date and time, the text file sorts itself this is what the data inside the text file looks like (unsorted)
Trying see why this isnt working. I am need to read a bunch of text file with different dates on the end sample is "impactstats_D_0731.txt
Dim oWrite As StreamWriter Dim line As String Dim spath As String Dim readFile As System.IO.TextReader = New _ StreamReader("C:\Documents and Settings\Stats_Report\impactstats_D_*.txt") line = readFile.ReadToEnd
i need to be able to compare data from a text file with the collection of a combo box.My algorithm currently populates the combo box with data from the text file on the form load event.I have included an update button that updates the combo box collection.[code]
I have to create a new program that reads to Text files. These text files are in the form of a report (with column headings). The purpose is to compare each record line by line to see if their have been any changes made. The record is based on an Account#. Over time these files will be considerably large. What is the best way to do compare records from each file. I'm thinking loading each file into an array and processing them that way.
I have 2 Text Boxes containing lists of names and I have a 3rd text box which I would like to use to determine the names that are missing from textbox2 that are listed in textbox1.
Textbox1 is: Customer Textbox2 is: Closed Sale Textbox3: is Sale not finalized
Would be great if it could auto populate into textbox 3 if not I will just use a button to action the function. First crack at dabbling with VB and whilst googling has managed to aid me in many ways unfortunately sometimes it is difficult to find relevant threads.
Does any one know how I can compare the numeric value of a text box on my Visual Basic 2008 form to the values in a particular column of a SQL database table? Things seem to work fine with bound controls when there are related records in the child table, but if a value is selected that has no related child records the form continues to display old information from the last record viewed. I would prefer to have the fields on the form go blank.
I am trying to use the Boot log and I really don't have much experience with parsing and comparing. What I need to do is to get only the minutes and seconds time stamp from a string similar to this from the boot log
Did not load driver SystemRootSystem32DRIVERSsrv.sys Loaded driver SystemRootsystem32DRIVERSMpNWMon.sys Microsoft (R) Windows (R) Version 6.1 (Build 7600) 4 11 2010 23:40:47.375 Loaded driver SystemRootsystem32 tkrnlpa.exe
Next once I get the minutes and seconds subtract 5 seconds Next compare the resulting minutes and seconds to the minutes and seconds from a second file and display the result
EXAMPLE: If you take the minutes and seconds from above 40:47 - 5 = 40:42. Next you get the minutes and seconds from the second file and you get 40:59 So you wind up with 40:59 - 40:42 = 00:17
My card program generates a text file AllCards.txt - I want to know when the first character in this file is identical to the 3rd, 5th, 7th, or 9th. In this case I would need A (1st char) checked against the 5 (3rd char), 5 (5th char), 7 (7th char) and 8 (9th char).
This is the code I have in one button and I have 2 listboxes that will be filled with the info it gets. This code should compare 1 avi file to one jpg file and see if they have the same name. If YES then it will add the avi path to one listbox. If they don't have the same name OR the .jpg doesn't exists it will add avi path to another listbox.. But currently it is adding the avi name to both listboxes.
I want my program to be able to create a '.txt' file when it is run for the first time, with the date and time the program was accessed, and to be able to add new 'logs' of program history every time it is accessed. What i mean is that i want my program to be able to create a '.txt' file, and then fill in the dates and times when the program is opened.
Is it possible to check the MIME Type of a file and compare it to the file extension in VB? Assume that he file type has been changed by the user. I want to test to see if it is of a particular type.
I'm stuck on an issue I think is actually pretty simple but I just can't get it sorted.
I have a string containing (a lot of) text, and in that text there are dates. Like 2/28/2010 or 11/12/2007 or whatever. There are multiple dates in that text.
How do I get the dates from that piece of text into another string so I can put the dates into textboxes?
I'm using Visual Studio .Net 2008 on Vista. The goal of my program is to watch a directory, get file information, then sort them by thier date, and produce a updated text file. I can't seem to get my code to generate a list of files sorted by date. The code does produce a general list of files, however presently ordered in the directory. I also tried an alternate way of sorting the files by date by creating a string, removing the date using substring, then comparing the file dates using datetime.parse but it produces a exception error. My first method using the structure follows:
I have been searching on the internet but couldn't find anything that would help me.
Im using VB to set default dates and times for the file names when a form is saved through InfoPath, this is what I have so far:
[code...]
This works but i need to format it to this:
ddmmyyy and hhmmss
I need zero's before single characters as if its only a single character then it only displays 1 eg if its 9 in the morning it'll display 9 rather than 09 and i need 09.
