DoubleAnimation / Storyboard Completes Twice And Resets Animation Value?
Nov 24, 2009
To Moderators: Forgot this is VB.NET only section. Feel free to move this to the misc languages section. While scaling a panel using a scale transform the application needs to reset the panel back to its original size. For this purpose a reset button starts a double animation that animates the scale transform from it's start value to 1 which means the panel will have it original value.
Visually the panel is scaled back to orignal size, but after the animation finishes the storyboard's complete event is raised twice, and once both of those events has been raised the value of the scale transform is set back to the value that it had before the animation.
Code:
private void ResetButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
if (!isReseting)
[code]....
For example, if the value of the Slider control (named zoomSliderControl) is 1.5 before the animation, then it animates back to 1 as expected, but once the completed event of resetStoryBoard has been raised twice it is set back to 1.5 again.I've tried debugging the application, and it's right after the second ResetStoryboardCompleted method has termined that the value is set to its original value so I'm guessing that I haven't configured the storyboard or animation correctly.
I have a script that reads a form and puts some info into a cookie:
[Code]...
The time is properly set right before it redirects, but when I try to print out that value this way (I have also tried Dim oCol as HttpCookieCollection = Request.Cookies, but I get the same result):
My program starts a lengthy background operation in a separate thread, and the main thread makes the ProgressBar start scrolling. My question is, how do I tell the main thread how to know when the background thread has stopped, so it can turn off the ProgressBar?
I have been pulling my hair out trying to get this to work. If I step through the code in debugger it all works great. My problem is if I just run it, only the last task responds. I'm guessing I am overwriting the background working or something. I am sure I am doing a few things wrong but my code is now messy as I tried many way while searching. I know of the threadpool and .Net 4.0 tasks but having a hard time getting to do what I need.
Basicly I am writing a program (trying more likely) that takes a list of computers and pings then, then checks their uptime and reports back. This works fine in the UI thread (Obviously that locks up my screen). I can have the background worker just do this, but then it does each computer 1 by one, and while the screen is responsive it still takes a long time.
So my answer was to have a for loop for each server launching a new background worker thread. My solution does not work.I have seen other threads that I could do it, but I need to use with events to call code to update to UI when each is done.
What is the most simple way to do this?
Here is my code. Most is just copy paste + modify till I get it working right.
So In the main class I have the testworker.
(I tried using Testworker() but it said I could not do that WithEvents)
When I click the button the list loads.
Private WithEvents TestWorker As System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Say I have a simple web app written in asp.net/vb.net. The web page has one button. When you click it, it does some junk in the code behind. What I would like to do, is when the page reloads, after the server has done its thing, to execute a JavaScript function.
Now the only stipulation is that it can only happen if the button was clicked. Not just on any page load. Is there a simple way to do this?
I created a Custom Class and Implemented a Type Converter for it. I used this Custom Class as a new property of a Custom Control.Everything is fine at design time. I can set the values of this property but at run-time the values i entered resets back to the initial declaration i made.
What is the best way to pass objects between threads? I would like to create a new thread that creates a new object : Dim myobject as newobject = new newoject Then in my main thread, I would like to use myobject. Ideally I would like to just assign to a global variable but I don't think that is possible. I think I may have to use some form of delegate function (but I think the child thread would need to complete to use a callback). The new thread will not actually end before I need the object reference in the main thread. How should I go about this?
When I implement this code, the first time the button is activated, the values are placed in the array, and displyed in the list box. However if the user then selects more days and times to add to the list box, and activates the button again, the previously added entries in the array are erased, and only the new entries are displayed. How can I prevent previous entries from being erased? If the user wants to add values, they need to be added to the existing values.[code]
I am working in VB 2008 and I have a textbox on a form that is used to enter a parcel number. I can enter the number in a 15 character string such as 12345678...... and it works just fine. The parcel number in real life contains dashes to make it easier to read, decipher, etc. so it looks like 12-3-45-67....... Under the textchanged subroutine for the textbox I have a case statement set up that checks the length of the parcel number as it is entered and inserts the dash accordingly.
Why can I not access to the storyboard when using WPF. In Silverlight, the exact same code works.
Codebehind VB Public Class UserControl1 Private Sub UserControl1_MouseLeftButtonDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs) Handles Me.MouseLeftButtonDown
is there any way to run the WPF storyboard using code in VB.NET? If yes how can we do it? And if i am not gonna get answer to this question too then let me know.
If i have a computer that runs so fast such that it could make over 9e18 ticks per hour, when stopwatch.elapsedticks reached its maximum, does it resets itself or stays at Long.MaxValue?
Trying to mimic the way the IPhone flips the album art to the songs list. I want to pass in two generic objects and have the storyboard flip them. I can get the slide effect, but have not figured out how to scale the object so it appears to be rotating and not just sliding.
Im new in the forum. Yeah thats what the title said. I made a wpf form with Expression Blend 4 with a lots of animation. So i want to trigger my storyoards with xbox 360 controller buttons. I made a button checks with timer but the problem is when a pressed the button the animation is flickering because the timer is refresh every 20 millisecond. I want to play it once/press like when i click with the mouse something happen. Code:
I am looking for a nice way to display some help messages in my application and I was looking to have the user click a button. This would then trigger a area at the top to grow and show the help section. The only problem is i am not sure how to acomplish this.
Currently, working on my chess program, I am trying to show a bunch of chess variants in a picture box but i have come to a forked road of either making all the images collectively into a Gif animation using fireworks, or using the timer to shift them one by one. The following code does not work and i am seeking help for a alternative code:
Im trying to create a animation of wave from a wave equation but the program only create a vertical line at the left side of my panel this is my code at the moment
Dim timedcounter2 As Integer = tbox1.Text Dim oldx As Integer = 0 Dim oldy As Integer = 0
I have a button named "b", which background I want to change from black to white, but it doesn't work.
The error:
'System.Windows.Media.Animation.ColorAnimation' animation object cannot be used to animate property 'Background' because it is of incompatible type 'System.Windows.Media.Brush'.
(non-coding request)Okay, I have my client, my server, and my map editor...a 2d online game, and yes it's written in VB.NET.I have had a lot of trouble finding anything to do with adding an animation layer something that will flash with a timer to appear as if something like fire is animated. I have a lot done so far and I kinda want to stick with VB.NET working with this.
I'm not really looking for code here, but maybe an idea of "how" an animation layer plays into a map editor and client...specifically what is needed.Running this through my head I believe I am going to need a timer on both the map editor and client, showing and hiding the animation layer...but I don't think it is that easy, and am hoping someone here has an idea of the logic of how this works. I'm almost certain that the timer doesn't go on the server to control this, but am probably wrong.
i need to make an animated intro of my project, i mean that when my project executes so first a welcome screen executed then project will load, so please assist me that i am using SWISH software to make such animation, so can i add swish animation in vb.net? if not so which software is useful for this except flash?
