Stopwatch.elapsedticks Reached Its Maximum Does It Resets Itself Or Stays At Long.MaxValue?
Nov 30, 2009
If i have a computer that runs so fast such that it could make over 9e18 ticks per hour, when stopwatch.elapsedticks reached its maximum, does it resets itself or stays at Long.MaxValue?
I made the first textbox to have a maxlength of 4 characters. Now after the user has entered 4 characters I want the program to automaticly tab to the second textbox.
I created a VB.NET web application project. Recently I got the dreaded above error message when a certain amount of web pages have loaded. On a form1_Load event, I do this:
vb Protected Sub form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles form1.Load MyConnection = New SqlConnection MyConnection.ConnectionString = CONN_STRING MyConnection.Open()
I have a VB.NET app in which I'd like to use the Stopwatch class. The stopwatch will get reset every time it enters a particular method, which may be in less than a second, or not for hours. Is there a limit to how long you can let a stopwatch run before something bad happens? i.e. an error, or performance degradation?
I need to this at runtime. I checked using Reflector and value types line like Int16, for example, should contain
[Code]...
EDIT: only for the example I used directly GetType(UInt16) but in real code this part is substituted by an instance of unknown-at-design-time .NET Type
I have a script that reads a form and puts some info into a cookie:
[Code]...
The time is properly set right before it redirects, but when I try to print out that value this way (I have also tried Dim oCol as HttpCookieCollection = Request.Cookies, but I get the same result):
To Moderators: Forgot this is VB.NET only section. Feel free to move this to the misc languages section. While scaling a panel using a scale transform the application needs to reset the panel back to its original size. For this purpose a reset button starts a double animation that animates the scale transform from it's start value to 1 which means the panel will have it original value.
Visually the panel is scaled back to orignal size, but after the animation finishes the storyboard's complete event is raised twice, and once both of those events has been raised the value of the scale transform is set back to the value that it had before the animation.
Code: private void ResetButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (!isReseting)
[code]....
For example, if the value of the Slider control (named zoomSliderControl) is 1.5 before the animation, then it animates back to 1 as expected, but once the completed event of resetStoryBoard has been raised twice it is set back to 1.5 again.I've tried debugging the application, and it's right after the second ResetStoryboardCompleted method has termined that the value is set to its original value so I'm guessing that I haven't configured the storyboard or animation correctly.
Is there a easer way of coding in stead of wrighting long long paragraphs like this in one line [code]All of this is on one line and i got lots of info to put down.."The game will begin on your 16th birthday with your mother waking you up. Today you are to go to the castle for the first time. Leave your bed and open your dresser for a Strength Seed. "
I created a Custom Class and Implemented a Type Converter for it. I used this Custom Class as a new property of a Custom Control.Everything is fine at design time. I can set the values of this property but at run-time the values i entered resets back to the initial declaration i made.
One the click of a button the stopwatch starts, then on the click of a second button the stopwatch stops then states either in a msgbox the time taken between the two button clicks.
When I implement this code, the first time the button is activated, the values are placed in the array, and displyed in the list box. However if the user then selects more days and times to add to the list box, and activates the button again, the previously added entries in the array are erased, and only the new entries are displayed. How can I prevent previous entries from being erased? If the user wants to add values, they need to be added to the existing values.[code]
I am working in VB 2008 and I have a textbox on a form that is used to enter a parcel number. I can enter the number in a 15 character string such as 12345678...... and it works just fine. The parcel number in real life contains dashes to make it easier to read, decipher, etc. so it looks like 12-3-45-67....... Under the textchanged subroutine for the textbox I have a case statement set up that checks the length of the parcel number as it is entered and inserts the dash accordingly.
I have a problem with my application "getting ahead of itself" what the problem stems from is i am manipulating a file and then using the manipulated file further along in the program, the trouble is the program is getting to the second step before the file manipulation is complete so i receive a file not found exception. The program that is doing the manipulation has an OnEnd sub routine and i have been looking at event handlers to try and figure out how i can hold up the application until the On End routine is fired. But i have been trying this to no avail, is there an example i can have that waits for an event to be fired?
My code read a thousand files, and for each file a connection is made and open to check against a recordset in SQL. After 143 files, the application will stopped and thrown this exception regarding maximum pool size reached. What I don't understand is I'm closing the connection after every file is processed, could it be I'm doing it incorrectly?
Please see my code below. I was only able to make this work by setting max pool size = 3000 in the connection string, since closing the connection does not seem to work.[code...]
I'd like to be able to match a specific sequence of characters, starting with a particular substring and ending with a particular substring. My positive lookahead regex works if there is only one instance to match on a line, but not if there should be multiple matches on a line. I understand this is because (.+) captures up everything until the last positive lookahead expression is found. It'd be nice if it would capture everything until the first expression is found.
Here is my regex attempt:
@@FOO[(.*)(?=~~)~~(.*)(?=]@@)]@@
Sample input:
@@FOO[abc~~hi]@@ @@FOO[def~~hey]@@
Desired output: 2 matches, with 2 matching groups each (abc, hi) and (def, hey).
Actual output: 1 match with 2 groups (abc~~hi]@@ @@FOO[def, hey)
In Visual Studio 2008 I am using :Private Declare Function BlockInput Lib "user32" (ByVal fBlock As Long) As Long To stop input from occuring during a search-replace operation.
BlockInput(True) ' do not allow input during search and destroy Dim cursorIcon As Cursor cursorIcon = Cursor Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor
Then setting it to false at the end of the operation. It did not work, so I thought maybe it was because I was calling it from a child window, so I created a function in the mainwindow, and ran it like this:
FrmMain.BlockFrmMainInput()With these functions is the Main window:
[Code]...
It did not solve the problem. I thought maybe it was because I was running under the debugger, so I tried compiling and running it debugger-free, but that did not do any better. I am still getting input when I double-click the mouse on either form.
My Problem is that I want to give user a message if the delegate limit has reached for that course.See I have a course where I have MinDelegate and MaxDelegate limit. I want to stop inserting and give user message that "Max Delegate limit has reached can't have more delegates for this course"And below is the insert commmand which is inserting records in my delegate table.
ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[uspInsertDelegate] ( @CourseID int,
Basically I am trying to get my timer to stop when it reaches a randomly generated number.
I have dimmed num2 as integer (num2 is timer) I have dimmed num3 as integer (num 3 is random number) I have done num3 = randNum.Next (0, 8)
My timer is working perfectly and counts from 0 -8. My randomly generated number works too, so how do i get the timer to stop when it reaches the random num?
I have tried; if num2 = num3 then timer1.enabled = false But that didn't work
1. I run a program in VB, then i click X button to close the main form, the program exits.
2. Then I change the code slightly (for example I add MsgBox("abc") and try to run the program.
3. An error appers: "The operation could not be completed..." and then some text in my own language, I try to translate it into english: "...The process cant get access to file, because its been in use by another process"
This is the code I have Function1() Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ProgressBar1.Minimum = 0 ProgressBar1.Maximum = 6 ProgressBar1.Value = 0 [Code] ..... However the progress bar stays empty. The application runs fully so I know one of the functions is not stuck in an infinite loop.
Okay so I'm making an on screen keyboard, and was wondering - when I click something in the background, my form stays on top, how can this be accomplished? Can someone point me in the right direction?
I have a Sub Menu which has a list of values and when the user selects one it sets a variable to the checked value. I was wondering if it is possible to group them into a control so only 1 can be checked at a time? And also so the menu structure doesn't close each time one of these options is selected.
I have attached a quick ScreenShot to show what i mean of the menu.
We have an application that allows custom UI and interaction via SDK. A DLL is developed for this purpose using VB.Net and the SDK. An object variable refers to the application and there are some other object variables for components within the application.
I play a lot of Counter Strike: Source.. and I was wondering if there was anyway that I could make an application that stays on top of Counter Strike while I am in game.
Is there any box type in vb.net that is multi lined, however stays as a single line and when you click on it , it will open up into a multi lined box (because I want 10 of them in a small area , in single lines will be perfect but needs to have lots of information stored in each one) and then when the user clicks out of the box / into the next one, it returns to its single lined state?
