View 1 RepliesI have a project that I have created, it something like a contact database.It is complete with its own sql server database, and controls and forms.I kinda of understand that I can include this project into another project.This is the tricky part,Can I include my contact project into another project and add more items to the database and forms in a new project?What I'm after is like using classes.My contact database would be like the base class, and the new project would be adding more features to that project.

View 7 RepliesI'm using Visual Basic .NET 2010 and I've created a basic program for a client that allows him to write an invoice for his business. The problem is when one invoice has too many items, the program will not create a second page. It will just keep going on the first page and will eventually cut off the rest of the information.How can I get my code to detect when a page can't be printed on anymore and automatically print on the next page.
View 2 RepliesWhy can I not access to the storyboard when using WPF. In Silverlight, the exact same code works.

To Moderators: Forgot this is VB.NET only section. Feel free to move this to the misc languages section.While scaling a panel using a scale transform the application needs to reset the panel back to its original size. For this purpose a reset button starts a double animation that animates the scale transform from it's start value to 1 which means the panel will have it original value.
Visually the panel is scaled back to orignal size, but after the animation finishes the storyboard's complete event is raised twice, and once both of those events has been raised the value of the scale transform is set back to the value that it had before the animation.
Code:
private void ResetButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
if (!isReseting)
[code]....
For example, if the value of the Slider control (named zoomSliderControl) is 1.5 before the animation, then it animates back to 1 as expected, but once the completed event of resetStoryBoard has been raised twice it is set back to 1.5 again.I've tried debugging the application, and it's right after the second ResetStoryboardCompleted method has termined that the value is set to its original value so I'm guessing that I haven't configured the storyboard or animation correctly.
Trying to mimic the way the IPhone flips the album art to the songs list. I want to pass in two generic objects and have the storyboard flip them. I can get the slide effect, but have not figured out how to scale the object so it appears to be rotating and not just sliding.
View 1 RepliesI have some storyboards in XAML (WPF Project) and I´m calling them from the VB code with this:
Dim ServiceOff As Storyboard = DirectCast(FindResource("ServiceStopped"), Storyboard)
ServiceOff.Begin()
I´m getting the following error when trying to build:
Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'Begin' accepts this number of arguments.
How do I stop a storyboard which is created in blend and programatically running from VB?

The code shown below works fine. I run it from the project SQLtesting. It loads a listbox and a checkedlistbox with the controls found on a form. I can change the value of the FormName field to any form within the SQLtesting project and get the form's controls. The forms are not actually opened/shown.I would like to be able to access forms in other projects i.e.

Im new in the forum. Yeah thats what the title said. I made a wpf form with Expression Blend 4 with a lots of animation. So i want to trigger my storyoards with xbox 360 controller buttons. I made a button checks with timer but the problem is when a pressed the button the animation is flickering because the timer is refresh every 20 millisecond. I want to play it once/press like when i click with the mouse something happen. Code:
[Code]...

Wondering what is the best method of viewing a pdf, and adding text to the pdf, then printing it out? Currently, I opened the pdf in Photoshop, saved it as a bitmap, made it the background image on a form, overlayed it with labels, and am using the form.print method. This isnt exactly the best way to do this. Does anyone else have any good suggestions (without spending more than say $40)?
Project Background:
I work for an aircraft manufacturer/maintainer, and every time we have a broken/removed part, I have to log into our part logistics website, then hand write a form with all the installed and broken parts info (a full page). My program parses all the necessary info from the website, then loads it into textboxes (to be modified if needed) which are then copied into the labels overlaying the image of the form I have to fill out.
I'am making a prototype Brownie infomation system with VB 2010 forms fronter and an Access 2007 database as a back end to store my data. I have looked on the Microsoft help website that shows you how to print a document, and various coding fourms that show how to use the print function in specific lines in a document But what I need to print is a datagrid view of the database in VB.
View 1 RepliesSo I need printing help about school now.Let's say I have a form shaped same as the printer paper size, and I put 4 textboxes in 4 corners of the form. Now I want to print those 4 textboxes in 4 corners of the paper.
To print the actual form in the paper, you know what Im saying?
I am using the 2005 Power Packs Print Forms, I need to hide the filetoolstripmenu in order to print because it come through on my client page So I am using filetoolstripmenusitem.visible= false, then calling print but i think its happens to fast so part of the filetoolstripitem is still coming through on my print image Is there something i can do to pause it for a second?
View 14 RepliesIn vb.net, the Login Form, Splash Screen, and Dialog Form are nice to have. They are available through Visual Studio's Project > Add New Item... dialog. Is there a way to add these prebuilt forms to a c# project without jumping through hoops?If need be, the forms can be re-implemented or created in a vb.net project and then instantiated from the main (c#) project, but that is a lot of work if there's an easy workaround.
View 5 RepliesI have some form/vb in another project that I want to import to a new one. There are three files with these extensions - .vb, resx, and designer.vb. Which do I copy and how exactly?
View 3 RepliesI would like to use 3 forms on which there will be various controls. I want the user of the program to complete first the stuff on Form1 then click to Button 1 in order to go to the second form (which is "next" button). On second form, there will be two buttons (Back and Next) and these will navigate it next or previous form. My aim is to have a single window at all times (the user should not see several windows and have the feeling that all these different windows are in fact a unique window with navigation buttons on it).
I know how to make forms visible/invisible or determine manually the location on the screen. But my question is if there is a conventional way of arranging these forms and their navigation. I used codes like "Form2.show" but I am not sure if it is the correct way to show form2 and make Form1 invisible or disabled.
What i want to do is when button1 is clicked it disables tmr1 on the main form, and then opens up an instance of a new form, when that instance form is closed, the tmr1 on the main form is enabled again....how do i enable the timer control when the instance is closed?

is it possible to have the same effect as a dialogue box, with form focus? eg, when using the open dialogue box, if you try to focus on another form within the app, it doesn't' let you and starts flashing. But when you switch to another app, it doesn't interfere.
View 2 RepliesIf I create a new class library project in VB.NET, I can create subfolders (a la C#), add WinForm objects to these subfolders, and then specify a namespace:
Namespace Sub1.Sub2
Public Class SomeForm
Public Sub New()
InitializeComponent()
[code]...
This resolves as ProjectRootNamespace.Sub1.Sub2.SomeForm, which is good.However, if I create a new WinForms project in VB.NET, and attempt the same thing, I get this error in the designer:The class SomeForm can be designed, but is not the first class in the file. Visual Studio requires that designers use the first class in the file. Move the class code so that it is the first class in the file and try loading the designer again.Is there a way to have forms in sub-namespaces of a VB.NET WinForms app instead of in the root namespace?
