View 2 RepliesLets say that I've got the coordinates of two Rectangles, they could be right next to each other or have space between them. I need to draw a PolygonHotSpot around the two rectangles (so it will only cover the two rectangles and the space between them). I've come to find that I have to give the coordinates a clockwise order around the entire polygon, rather than around each rectangle (which works fine for a single rectangle).
So given a list of coordinates, is there a way to get them into the order that I need for there to not be any gaps in my PolygonHotSpot?
I'm trying to do something that is turning out to be out of my league at the moment. I need to draw geometric figures. These geometric figures have all the coordinates of their corners. Say I have a trapezoid, and I would want to draw it. The drawing would be done in a picturebox or a panel or a groupbox (some part of the form where only the geometric figure will be).
I saw the method on how to do that Here and that's exactly what I'm trying to achieve, but there it's drawn on a newly created form, and I need it in a picbox, panel or groupbox as I mentioned above. I also need the drawn figure to be at the center of the picbox/panel/groupbox.
The coordinates of the lines should be like (xa.text,ya.text) to (xa.text - xb.text, ya.text + yb.text) if I'm not wrong for the first line of the geometric figure and so on.
I have to make a lot of retangular boxes to make my program neat but i'm having a problem of adding boxes. I tried using the draw event in the tab page but everytime i scroll it will draw the lines again and messes up everything. Also when making a line greater that the tab page, autoscroll won't work.
Is there a way to make lines or boxes in design time?
I would like to draw a rectangle on a form, for example to mimic a steel beam that is 6 metres long.Within this rectangle, there may be 4 "openings" or circles that mimic a diameter of 600mm, so i need to draw 4 circles within the rectangle, to indicate a beam that has 4 openings. Other issues I need to cater for is that one of the circles may not be in the centre, it may be slightly raised.The user can change the length of the beam and the size of the openings so i'd like to refresh my drawing to keep in line with this.

I'm using a series of nested if/then/else statements to make sure a user enters information into each text box or chooses a radio button. What would i use to say if no text is entered in textbox1, then ... also what would i use to make a sure the user choose one or the other radio button? for example i also have a combo box, i used "If SubjectComboBox.SelectedIndex <> -1" for the if statement.

Basically I can't figure out how to get the try/catch to work with text boxes and input from the user and whatnot.I've tried setting the textbox.text property = "" but that has no use, I've been trying to find something on Google about it but I cannot seem to find a single thing about textbox try/catch statements. I have an automated electrical tester, I want to create a type of map file so that way the user can select a subset of devices to test. So basically I want to create a type of grid that the user will be able to highlight specific rectangles in the grid so that way the tester knows to test only those specific locations. To start I want to create a 4X4 grid and each individual rectangle in the grid will contain some coordinate information. Does anyone have a tiny example of how I can draw a 4X4 grid, or any thoughts on the best way to do this? The real final map I will be making will have over 50K devices.

I am trying to input a text file of figures into a 2-dimensional array. I want to do this so I will then perform percent changes on the respective columns. The text file contains columns and then numerous rows for each columns each number is separated with a tab. The text file looks something like this.

So I need to be able to input the text file, turn it into an array and then find the total percent change. From 2.2-3.7-9.2

When data is appended to a multiline text box control, it always displays the first lines at the top, and the user has to scroll to the bottom to see the latest. When more data is appended, the control zooms right back to the top.
The vertical scroll is enabled, and so is multiline.
