Feb 12, 2010I've got an array with several 'x,y values'what I want to do is to go through this array and to draw those values in a picture box so that I can see a kind of profile.

Nov 8, 2011I drew some shapes on a picture box , then when i move the form outside the bounds of the screen or move another form on it , all the shapes go away.I am using "CreateGraphics" to create the shapes.How can i keep the shapes on the picture box?

Feb 2, 2011I have my application to where you can load up an image and draw on it with the mouse left down and drag.Only problem is, if the form becomes the inactive one or is minimized/maximized the drawings go away until I scroll the image in the form (I put the redraw functionality in the picturebox.Paint event).How can I make the lines I draw stay permanently? I've put picturebox1.refresh in the minimizedchanged/maximizechanged and form.activated events and still nothing..Even tried the picturebox's resize event and nothing?

VS 2010 Exposing Picture Box Drawing Surface?
Dec 27, 2010studying GDI+ for drawing, there are many suggestions to expose the graphic surface for the paintbox control or a form using e.graphics in the paint event. Can graphics be exposed outside the paint for the picture box control?
In my old vb6 project that I am converting to vb.net 2010, I have several large routines located in a code module that draw lines, circles, etc on a picture box and it is desirable to keep these outside the paint event of the picture box so the same routines can be used to draw on more than one picture box.
In experimenting, I found I can create e.graphics from the picture box paint event and pass it by reference to a drawing routine and the drawing routine seems to work ok on initial experiments but it requires visiting the picture box paint event to get the drawing surface in the external sub.Is this apprach good programming practice or is there a better way to create the graphics surface of a picture box or form in subroutines outside the paint event?
Controlling Picture Boxes Through A 2D Picture Box Array?
Aug 20, 2011I have VS 2008 and use VB, not C#/C++ or whatever else. I'm trying to make a battleship game, and I've decided to use the only method I can think of to control the grid. A 2D boolean array for position marking. I have the array set up, and the grid set up in the design form, but I can't figure out with all my research how to link them together. I'm writing this program to shake off the rust before school starts again, and for fun. I took VB in school last year, a half year class, so I have a foundation, now I'm self-educating myself above and beyond the class. I've searched for a way to use a picture box array to use the coordinates of the ship to .Visible=True the picture boxes. I've been working on this for 2 days straight with no results. I just need a little nudge in the right direction. The exception I've been getting with my latest concoction of code is NullReferenceException was Unhandled. I think its referring to the fact that I have no idea how to link the picture boxes into the array. Here's my code, and I'll comment where the exception is thrown:

Oct 6, 2011I need an indexed set of picture boxes. The number, n, of these objects is determined at run-time.Migrating from VB6!! I had used the load command n times to create a control array from a "seed" picture box. In code the individual pictureboxes are accessed as formula(k), where formula was the name of the control array and k is an integer. Examples can be seen at url... the chemical formulae, Ni2+ etc., are draggable picture boxes (curve captions if you like), so that they can be placed wherever the user wants.How can I implement something similar in VB.NET?

I have this sub load up upon form_load event. Yet it doesn't do a thing! I want each picture box to appear on the same row, hence the y axis is set to 49. but I want my X-axis to be added by 30, so that there is a gap of 30 pixels between each picture box, hence the x point is: Xlocation = Xlocation + 30
Drawing On Picturebox Vs Drawing On Form?
Feb 18, 2012I need some code to draw a resizable, draggable rectangular cursor (or selection box) on a picturebox. I found some excellent code (albeit rather old) that does just that, but on a form rather than a picturebox. I have tried converting the code - basically moving things to the picturebox events (Paint, MouseDown, MouseMove etc). It nearly works but leaves a trail behind it when you move or resize the cursor. In other words, the selection rectangle is not being erased before being drawn in the new position.
Is there some fundamental difference between drawing graphics on a form and drawing on a picturebox that would cause this behaviour? Something like, when you invalidate a form and cause a redraw it erases what you did last? If not, then I just need to dig a bit further and work out how the cursor is being erased from the previous position.
Here's the original code that works fine on a form:
