I have a form that contains an array of textboxes that are created at runtime. 72 to be exact. They will be used to hold the serial numbers of parts that will be be read with a scanner. I need to check that there are no duplicates in the serial numbers while the operator is scanning in the parts and then change the backcolor of the matching textboxes if the text is the same in 2 or more.
I need to count the number of duplicate entries, and provide a summary (count) for each product code. This makes it easier when the order needs to be placed, and the user don't have to count each value manually.
I have tried looping through all 50 boxes to no avail. This seemed easy, but, clearly I am to thick to think of a solution.
My goal is to just select the 2nd one, the <span> tag and am not sure why <p> tag is also being selected. If it selects <p>, but why wouldn't it also select the <strong> or <a>, and why not the <table> or <td> that contain the <p>?
I am adding line entries in a .ini file. The problem is, I am creating duplicate lines in the file, which I do not want to do. I searched this issue online, and the consensus is to use an array, loop through for duplicates and create a new file. However, being so new at this and teaching myself how to code no less, I am at a dead end. This is not a school project, it is something I am doing for work on my own time. I have all of my code done for the program except for this last step.
i have 4 text box how can i display a messagebox that will prompt the user if theres any duplicate text on the four Textbox. Main idea: i just want everything that the user typed in each 4 textbox to be unique."i tried coding at the textbox that if the text box is change, that if theres another textbox with the same data i typed a messagebox will prompt. almost does it but, since i added a diaglogresult code that if i click yes the text box with the code will be change to a null object.. but since the other text box are null objects the messagebox will prompt me again..
I'm having a problem with loading two text boxes from a saved text file. I've built a log in form that saves the user-name and password on separate lines in a text file.I have a save button and a load button. My problem is that I'm new to Visual Basics and I can't figure out how to get the two lines from the file to load into their separate boxes on the form. The code that I have loads both lines from the text file into the User Name Box.Oh the username is on the first line in the text file, and the password is on the second line of the text file. Could someone please help! My Loading code is:
Private Sub btnLoad_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnLoad.Click If File.Exists("Login Config.txt") Then Dim ioFile As New StreamReader("Login Config.txt") Dim ioLine As String ' Going to hold one line at a time
I have this data in txt file and the data keeps changing all the time.

I would like to read all lines and compare, if the same name and same address is found, which is in the [......], then i need to count it and show the most frequent buyer!should i read it all and put in array, and compare and put the duplicate data and count into another array?
I am trying to export text from the following textboxes:textbox1.textextbox2.text To a standard text file (notepad) to save the data. I want to be able to click a button, and what I type in the 2 textboxes save to this file, then I want to be able to add more values from textbox1 and textbox2 to then add to my textfile, so that I have several strings stored in the textfile.
I'm having some trouble getting my button to erase the text that is in the textboxes when I hit it. I thought it would be something like txtAnswerText.Text = "" in side of the Next1_Click sub but that didn't do anything at all.
in order to select text in a textbox you need to focus into it.The problem is, after focusing and selecting the second textbox, it deselects the text in the first textbox.
I'm trying to save the input from the user from several text boxes into a text file, but to append to put after the last record on the next line. I've searched google and have tried the numerous ways but with no luck, and tried searching here but came up with a 502 bad error or something message.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click
What is the best way to run an if statement if I have text in my textboxes?I have 6 textboxes,textbox1 will always have text but how would I do this?[code]
I have a List object and I want to remove the duplicated items but leaving at least one of the duplicated items in the list;I wrote something like this however I would optimize this code for better performance, is there something faster?
Const chars As String = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" Dim rnd As New Random() Dim mylist As List(Of String) = Enumerable.Range(1, 100).Select(Function(i)
I am using this code to copy data in a textbox to a text file. I have several forms to copy data from. Can this be done or do I need to do each form separately?[code]...
I tried to create a ghost text using Labels over the Textboxes. I am using VB.Net2005. I accomplished this with this code:
Public Class frmDataEntry Private Sub PhantomTextLastName() If txtLastName.Text = "" Then
[Code].....
Is there any way to reduce this code, so that when I try to add another Textboxes I'll never have to retype a bunch of codes. I have basic knowledge n using Module and Class
I have this program I'm working on, and I was wondering if it was possible to disable/enable TextBoxes when specific words are wrtten. I tried doing this, but it errored. I'm a new programmer to VB, I just started a month ago, and I'm doing this for fun.
If TextBox1.Text = "Shutdown" then TextBox2.Enabled = True
I also want it so that you don't have to press a button to identify if it is the right text, so it could "scan" automatically.
how to justify the text in the labels so that they look good - I mean, instead of the default left-aligned text-format, is there a way to make it justified.
In my form, A user can do some stuff on my program which will create a new tabpage with a text box on it. The user also selects the name of the tab, which is then the name of the textbox with a "2" on the end of it.
What I need to know is how to get the texts from however many tabpage's textboxes there are and combine them into one textbox, as a sort of receipt.
What I was thinking, because I have this method of removing all the tabpages, is using a code like the one below maybe to do the job, not sure how I would alter it to work though. [code]...
I am confused about how to make a button able to clear the text in all textboxes. I know in c# I can just say textbox1.Clear(); but this won't work in this case.
