I have been compiling applications from my main program using the following code [code]It works fine for building console applications but I want to add a resource into it. However I get Resources Is not a member of My. in my app cause it is a console app and can't have that property etc.

View 3 RepliesI am using CompilerParameters to dynamically compile code... The problem is when I use:
cp.ReferencedAssemblies.Add(CompilerPath & "est.exe")
to add a reference to test exe ... (where CompilerPath is the full path name)
Compiler Path is not the Compiler Application Path
I get an error when compiling stating that:
vb
"Could not load file or assembly 'test, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
If I put it in the test.dll in the "compiler apps" path and then call ReferencedAssemblies.Add with the full path it works.
I'm not sure I understand the point of CompilerParameters.ReferencedAssemblies. I thought they could be used in place of using Imports statements.I'm obviously wrong because even if I set CompilerParameters.ReferencedAssemblies.AddRange( {"System.dll", "Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll"}) I still need to use Imports System and Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic in the script for it to work.
Are the Imports used only so that I can use MsgBox() instead of Microsoft.VisualBasic.MsgBox()?What if my script "Imports Something.OrAnother" from an assembly called Something.OrAnother.dll. Do I need to scan the script looking for all of the Imports statements and then add them (plus ".dll") to the CompilerParameters.ReferencedAssemblies before compiling?
When I dynamically compile SilverLight 4.0 application using Microsoft.VisualBasic.VBCodeProvider, I get the following error.

If there are 5 customers details then when i load the form it will add (PictureBox, Label and a listbox) for each customer dynamically and display them with their information. Moreover, if i add 6th Customer information in the database then next time i load the form it should display his/her information as well. I did this in VB6 sometimes back but need a start to do in .net

I have a Windows form which contains a DataGridView within a GroupBox which is within a TabPage which is within a TabControl.The scrollbars property is set to 'Both' so that the user can scroll down to see all available rows in the grid.
I want the Windows Form to initialize to allow the user to see 7 rows but to expanded vertically to the size of 32 rows which is the maximum possible in this application.
Is there a way to size the form dynamically so the Form's Height property can be changed as the DataGridView's rowcount increases?
In one of my forms witch I imported from VB2008 there are all properties saved in the *.resx file. One Property, of the Type System.Windows.Forms.Keys, can contain the Value 'Ctrl+F1' witch compiles fine in VB2008, but not in VB2010. To reproduce, simply add the following to any resx file:

It will compile fine with VB2008, but not with VB2010. Notice: The VB2010 also generates this Code in the resx file

View 1 RepliesI'm working on a application which suppose to work as a interface between multiple applications. as a example, one PBX system sends me data via TCPIP or COM ports and I manipulate it and send to PMS application. likewise PMS also send me data which I need to send back to PBX system.By query is, I don't have a fix number of communication interfaces and it can go up to 8 - 10 or may be more and they should work independently (should be able to switch off communication at any time in any interface).
In this situation, I cannot handle everything in one service or two since I don't know how many interfaces going to be. So I'm thinking a way to create services dynamically such as when user create a new interface in application it automatically creates the windows service on server or pc.I don't really need to create services remotely since my application will install only in one pc or a server and system administrator will access the server for the configurations.

View 2 RepliesI want to add a new PropertyGrid control every time an item is added to a ListBox.I have a ListBox, with an "Add Item" button underneath (and also a "Remove Item" button). Every time an item is added to the list, I want to create a new PropertyGrid corresponding to each item. The relevent PropertyGrid should appear when an item is selected in the ListBox, and the user can edit the properties of that item.
The only way I can think of doing this is by creating a dynamic array which has length ListBox1.items.count, but I'm not sure it's possible to create an array of controls.

I have a form which when button1 is pressed creates and displays a new form. From this form a user has the choice yes or no buttons. Each button has its own handler and script it executes. If yes is clicked i want to run the script and then close both forms. I used me.close() and that only closes the orriginal form and leaves the dynamically created on open. If I place a call to form2.close() in the yes handler sub I get an error that it is not declared. How can i close this second form?

i'm setting on error on line where i'm setting the location of x and y. if i remove those lines it works but all the progress bar are shown at same location. Also i want to set the values of progress bar, i was trying this me.controls("Pbar1").value = 100 or PBar1.value = 100 but it doesn't work because in 1st case it doesn't know the control is pbar and in 2nd case it says PBAr1 doesn't exist and won't make the build.

I am trying to update my form once the delete button is clicked. There are several fields like Name, Date, Date of Birth and so on. Once I delete record I want the form to automatically load with new / updated data. This form fetches data from MS Access using OLEDB. Once when I close the application and reopen then form will be updated with new values. But I want this to happen once the form loads after deleting.[code]

Now I would like to save this form as .vb file and include it in my project. Similar I have created in PHP where output html and saving as .php file is easy. This I have used as a initialize function as i start doing some project whose database has been created already.
I've got a class where I pass in a panel reference and in that panel I'm then required to draw multiple other panels that represent my objects. The issue is that when I go to bind dynamically click events to these panels I don't have reference to the Form of which I want to popup on the click event.
The reason for this structure is so that I can redraw my class dynamically and reattach certain events to each object.
Is there any way to do this without moving my classes logic outside of the Assembly or is there any way to attach my click event to a piece of code logic to a sub in my WinForm?
