I'm wondering, when I add dynamically controls in runtime in the form - is there a way to save this controls, and they appear the next time when you run the application?
I'm using VB9.
What I'm trying to do is build 16 forms dynamically at runtime (all will be identical). These 16 forms each will display a camera, which is using an ActiveX control made by a 3rd party. I am able to create the forms correctly and provide all necessary parameters for each control, but since I have to declare my own AddHandler event which checks if the camera connected, I need to somehow reference the ActiveX control at runtime, but I can't tell it which form it's on because it says it's not declared.[code]...

But as the form is resizable, when the size of the form is increased or decreased at runtime the controls are no longer center aligned in the panels. How can I handle this problem (provided the main form needs to remain sizable)?

If there are 5 customers details then when i load the form it will add (PictureBox, Label and a listbox) for each customer dynamically and display them with their information. Moreover, if i add 6th Customer information in the database then next time i load the form it should display his/her information as well. Also labels with given TEXT are also to be created when create label button is clicked. then we should be able to print the form contents as it appears but without any buttons. Supposedly I have a datatable containing 2 columns (controlname as string, containing the name of the control and controltype as string containing the type of the control), for example ("label1", "Label") On runtime i want to loop over the datatable and create the controls from that datatable and add them to the form accordingly. but the problem that i don't know how to convert the control name to a control type, meaning that i want to convert label1 to a type of control Label, inorder for me to set its properties on runtime. so how can i do this and is there a way to convert the string to control according to it controltype.

View 7 RepliesI have an MDI application which uses fixed sized forms. I've started to change the forms to sizeable and anchored the controls so they move when the form is resized. If the child form has a menu this jumps onto the parent menu (as it always has done) but all the controls move up the form at runtime and leave a space at the bottom of the child. If I change the form in design mode to cut through the bottom controls i.e. so the form doesn't appear tall enough, it corrects itself at runtime. Is there another workaround as it looks misleading in the designer.

What's the best way to dynamically remove method calls at runtime? Essentially what I'd like to do is pass a parameter to my application. Let's call the parameter level. Depending on the value of level, I'd like to essentially remove all the calls that have higher levels. I have the following but was wondering if there were a simpler/cleaner way to remove the calls:
Ideally I'd really like to write something like:

And just have Log5 work or not call if it doesn't exist. My goal is to actually remove the call. The overhead for calling level 5 logs that test and return is fairly high and I rarely use it.

I get how to use the Dynamic LINQ Library Sample to provide for dynamically selecting the Select, Where and Order by Clauses at runtime but I'm at an impass on how to allot for table choice.
Is there a way to provide for dynamically selecting the "from" table at run time

I would like to dynamically populate a toolbox at runtime with buttons that correspond to these tools, and when clicked have them create an instance of that tool and set it as the current tool. Is this possible, and if so will it be better/easier than creating those buttons by hand?
