I am making an application called "Browser From Scratch" and I require a code that allows you to change, lets say "Button 1" and you can change the code from "TextBox1"
How would I do that?BTW: I am using Visual Basic 2008!

I've been searching all over and unable to find a way to do this. I'm not sure if it is possible but thought I would ask. I have a program that runs in the background and hooks the keyboard keys to perform actions when a hotkey is pressed. However I don't want it to do anything if the forground window (of another application) is in edit mode so if you map the v key, the user will still be able to enter it in a text box. Is there a way to detect if the forground window or control is currently in edit mode?
I have a axwebrowser control and through it I am editing my website page On my main site page I have an attribute that I need that makes a field readonly..Although it is important to leave it like that on the site, I still need to edit the field through the Vb.net application. Only way to do this as what I see is to remove the readonly (Without doing all the website through VB.Net)Is there a way to edit the code on the site through VB.NET in order to remove the readonly attribute and be able to edit that textfield? [code]I just need to remove this readonly attribute here..Again I am using the axwebbrowser (COM)
A change I made to the project's configuration must have disabled the ability for me to edit the code at runtime. I used to be able to pause execution and edit code on the fly, but I recently made a change to the configuration manager to build releases for x86 and all of the sudden I can no longer update code while running the app. This is very frustrating as I have to keep stopping and starting my app.
Editing a Visual Studio 2008 solution (1 Windows project and 1 installer project) that has been working flawlessly.Recently, attempts to edit the Dataset (add/modify queries) by right-clicking the dataset and selecting "Edit Dataset With Designer" brings up the MyProject_Dataset.xsd window TAB, and initially displays "Please wait while loading..." in the middle of the window -- and then does nothing else.Alt-Tabbing to other apps then leaves "ghost window" stuff displayed where "Please wait while loading" once was... and editing queries, etc., is impossible.Shutting down Visual Studio will enable me to successfully get into the editor once ot twice, but then it locks up again.
When I am in break mode, I cannot update code.I receive message "Cannot currently modify this text in the editor. It is read only." Can anyone explain why I get this message?
The file 'C:Documents and SettingsMirkoMy DocumentsVisual Studio2008ProjectsWindowsApplication1WindowsApplication1Form1.vb' does not support code parsing or generation because it is not contained within a project that supports code.
I am trying to edit (in Visual Basic Express 2008) the source code of MapWindow's CSV to Shapefile plugin url... to read directly from a datagrid view. My datagridview is successfully created with the following code in frmMain:[code]With the help of BackWoodsCoder I was able to add the datagridview column names to the X and Y combo boxes but that's where I get stuck again. The original source code appears to re-read the delimited text file instead of using existing object code.I did try the MapWindow Forum first but have had no response thus far.
I downloaded some visual basic 2008 Source Code from a site and when i edit it or delete something it still shows up in program when debuging and playing the program, even when i delete it in code it still shows up how can i stop this
When editing a code module, any methods marked as Obsolete do not (by design) show up in the top-right hand declration drop-down. (I've rasied this as a problem on another thread since it's causing me and other colegues a head-ache. Can I propose a VS setting to include obsolte methods would be a simple and useful enhancment.)
I'm making a text Editor, that can load unrelated code then edit it graphically using buttons. So far my problem is with replace, I'm probably not using the right context some times it works, most times it does not.
I am looking for sample code that will allow me to read, write and edit records to a local MS Access DB using VB9.For my project, the datagrid and other controls are not an option.I have looked everywhere and cannot find any code examples.I assume it should be straight forward, but with all the changes in VB9 its tough.
I am busy with a Windows Forms application. The purpose of the application is to convert Excel documents to HTML format so that they can be published to a website.I have most of the code finished and the application is looking really good.I have although encountered a problem. On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button. With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.
I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I have tried numerous ideas up until now but it continues to baffle me.
I am working on an application in Visual Basic 2008 Express.Dependeing on aa user choice, the window can be one of three sizes. I want each to be centered. On startup the property for "StartPosition" is "CenterScreen", the form loads with the window at the top center of the screen.
The user selects a differentsize for the form, using the following code: Me.Size = New System.Drawing.Size(1020, 475) Me.StartPosition = FormStartPosition.CenterScreen
I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. Logic is handled in a class called Contact.vb Here is my code.
Public Class Contact Public Contact As String Public Title As String[code]....
Anyone knows the code to REFRESH the WINDOW DESKTOP by clicking a button from a form?iCzZz...^^Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal senderSystem.Object, System.EventArgs)les Refrh.Click
I'm opening a new window as a dialog box via code.If I click on another application (let's say outlook) and then click on my project again in the task bar I get my main window and my dialog box is in the background and I can't get it back. What's wrong and how can I fix this?
Is there a way to sort automatically the code window so the procedures for each control in a form appear one after the other (also for the control names)?
I am trying to automate with Coded UI . Now it runs fine but when an abrupt modal window / exception window appears , it halts and tries to act on it but this was not part of recording. I want to track when this modal window appears and then kill the AUT [ application that is being automated upon ].This will at-least prevent users from watching screen w/o any progress.
I know how to add images to Form Controls by using the Property Window. However I am trying to use Icons on the form to indicate error.Example: If this condition is true, display this image, else display that image.
I could do this using multiple labels on top of each other but wondering if there is an easier way.
Please can someone point me in the right direction? I would like to build my own code designer window similar to that of the one within the VB2010 IDE.I am not sure how to tackle this, at first I was thinking of using RichTextBox as this can accommodate the fonts and colors.
An example of what I am trying to achieve.Should be able to outline, expand and colapse based on my own tags. e.g. in the VB.Net IDE a function and end function are tags that would produce an outline Should be able to change color of text based on characters. e.g. ' would turn green in the VB.Net ide as it is a comment Should be able to indent based on specific tags. e.g. With - End with would auto indent within the VB.Net ide
I should be able to cover the text color and indents using RichTextBox, but I am struggling with the outline expand and colapse. The purpose of the project is to build a simple interface for creating config files that use only specific tags
When I try to open up a form designer, all I see is code and no form! How can I open up the designer, since the code says to modify using the designer and not the code editor?[code]....

On clicking button in asp.net web page on button click event html is generated from xml and xsl. This html is stored as string variable. For example lets say dim htmlString as string = "<div>This is my popup</div>"From the above html string how can I dynamically create html popup window in vb.net. I can create popup window on front end by using javascript but havent found any solution to create it through code behind file in vb.netEdit:This does not work in IE, only works in firefox:
