Mar 22, 2009Working on Access 2007 and Visual Studio 2008, i already connected my database to the application and can see the data on datagrids and can add or edit or delete records, the problem is that those changes do not go to the database, so when i close and reopen the application, i found the old data as it was before. Note: i used the wizard to add the connection, not the code.

Apr 1, 2009I have created a project that has an add a new record, edit record and a search form, that has multiple text, combo boxes and is working great.Last nite I have added a checkbox under my add new record form and i am saving the checkbox value to my database, so far so good. I would like to be able to search any record that is mark with a checkbox to show up in my search screen when I do a search: [code] The problem that i am having is that now that I have added the code to my project to search for the checkbox field in the search screen and if I leave everything blank and click on the the search button I get no record found. I expected to see all that data, since I have nothing selected. Now if I click my checkbox, as soon as I click on my search button I see that two records that I have added for my test.

However the third column in file 2 is a numeric field. What I wish to do is check every field in file1 against the field in file 2, and if the number is 1 then remove the row from file 2, if the number is > 1, then subtract one from it.

Oct 20, 2009The basic System.Byte doesn't make me happy, especially when I'm doing network operations that deliver bytes as BigEndian while the System.Byte relies on the System.Bitconverter that's almost always going to process LittleEndian.
So I'm working on a custom Class that contains a basic, underlying System.Byte that I can play with; and I want to give it a Property called Byte so the underlying value can be returned or set. The problem is that Byte is a Visual Basic Keyword, so when I try to name a Property 'Byte' Visual Studio starts throwing Intellisense errors at me.

The record will contain the name of the employee, their salary and the number of years they have been employed.I'm looking to display only the name of the employees in sorted order(alphabetically) and then when the user of the program selects a particular employee, I want to display the salary and number of years for that employee.I would like the user to be able to edit the recors for the employee and I would also like to have a way for the user to be able to add/remove an employee record and update the input file before the program is closed.

Apr 17, 2012I'm familiar with SQL to an extent from PHP, but I've never worked with databases in VB.net before.I'm making a scheduling system to try and learn how to work with databases, and I have an Access database, that is already populated with data, has all the foreign keys and associative tables, that I need to connect to a DataGridView in my Windows Form.This is basically what I need to accomplish:-Have each table of the database display in it's own DataGridView.-Have changes made in the DataGridView/Windows Form in general... actually update the Access database(I would for example, schedule a new course(by clicking new course, and then selecting the appropriate values for each field), and it would check the make sure the student isn't in a class at that time, that the classroom isn't taken already, and the the instructor isn't busy at that time on that day)
