Working on Access 2007 and Visual Studio 2008, i already connected my database to the application and can see the data on datagrids and can add or edit or delete records, the problem is that those changes do not go to the database, so when i close and reopen the application, i found the old data as it was before. Note: i used the wizard to add the connection, not the code.

I have created a project that has an add a new record, edit record and a search form, that has multiple text, combo boxes and is working great.Last nite I have added a checkbox under my add new record form and i am saving the checkbox value to my database, so far so good. I would like to be able to search any record that is mark with a checkbox to show up in my search screen when I do a search: [code] The problem that i am having is that now that I have added the code to my project to search for the checkbox field in the search screen and if I leave everything blank and click on the the search button I get no record found. I expected to see all that data, since I have nothing selected. Now if I click my checkbox, as soon as I click on my search button I see that two records that I have added for my test.

For isolating the problem i have just created project with a single form.
The form contains a masked text box (mask allows numeric(5 digits) int32 value )and a button named FIND.
Then i clicked on add a new data source wizard and added a data source (Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider) and a microsoft access database (Library Management Project.mdb) . the database has a 5 digit primary key column named -BOOK_ID
i selected no when asked whether i want to add the local database to the output directory and modify connection.
then selected yes when asked whether i want to save the connection string.
then selected everythng when asked what database objects i want to add to dataset.
What i want the project to do when a person enters 5 digit integer value in masked text box and clicks the button FIND
a message should be displayed telling whether this value matches any of the primary key values.
so i wrote under the button click event

i get an error saying "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference.
the msdn library says above two lines shldnt give error.

I've been using the following method to store the primary key value of whatever record is being referenced. I would then call the Content.Id method to retrieve that value for sql commands.
My question is - is this good practice? One other told me I should make a session item instead.

How do I increment a primary key that is in integer digit format to a record when adding or pressing an "Add New" button that I have on my form. In other words, I have a 'Add New' Button that has the code following:

As you can see from the above code, that most of the textboxes are cleared so that a enduser can insert his or her values and information. Currently, I do have the OrderNumber which is the primary key cleared, however, I would rather have this field auto incremented to the next digit. For some reason, at the moment, I just do not know where to begin to set this field so that a digit canbe inserted and incremented rather than cleared.

used the WMI ChangeZoneType DNS command in C#VB.net before. I get an incorrect parameter exception when i try and invoke the changezonetype command. I get the dns zone that i want to change from the dns server (via query), set the zonetype to the appropriate uint value but am then getting the exception. I am trying to change the zone from secondary to primary and according to MSDN all the other values are optional (and as far as i am aware are needed when you want to change from primary to secondary) so i have not included them.

When I change the account number on the main table via a combo box all of the relevant information for that table on the form is updated accordingly. However, the child table which has a foreign key reference to the Account Number of the main table is not updated when the acocunt number is changed. I have set the update to cascade in the references but still am having issues.
