Email Code Works On Local System But Not From Web Server?
May 2, 2011
I have developed an ASP.Net 2.0 application and I am facing problem in sending email from my Web Server. Following is the VB code I have used to send email from my web application. Thing is when I try to send email from my local system (laptop) the email goes out fine and reaches the recipient address instantly but when I try to send email from my web server it fails. My hosting provider gave me a relay-host address for sending out email. The email goes out fine but the relay host has an annoying amount of delay in email delivery which is a problem during the sign up process.
Here is the code I am using:I have imported system.net.mail in my code and used async="true" on the aspx page.
Private Sub SendMail(ByVal actcd As String)
Dim mailMessage As New System.Net.Mail.MailMessage
mailMessage.From = New MailAddress(support@ihomejobs.com)
[code]....
I have tried the above settings and they work fine from outlook and the application when tried on my laptop but these settings fail on web server.I want to send email from my web server without using a relay-host.
An Error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When Connecting to a SQL Server2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL server doesn allow remote connection (provider: Named Pipe Provider, error: 40- Could not open a connection to SQL Server)I want to connect to the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition which is running on my system from a VB.NET application. I am using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. Here is the Coding,
Dim sqlConn As SqlClient.SqlConnection sqlConn = New SqlClient.SqlConnection("server=localhost" & "initial catalog=LIB") Try
I want to send a image to server side using HTTPService,I am using ASP.NET for server side coding. I don't know how to write server side code to receive the image sent as a byteArray, and I am also not sure if my client side code is correct or not。is there any IT PRO..[code]I could not get the image in my disk,I think the flex side should have not problem, but the VB code side should be something wrong.
I want to know how to connect to a remote system having some shared folder.(ex, \myservermysharedfolder).Actually, I was supposed to copy a particular file which is available in a shared location of a system. To copy that file, first i need to connect to that system with an user id and password.I know copying of file (), But not getting clear idea on how to connect to the shared folder. I have tried with System.Management class, but no use..
I want to manipulate the first name, last name and email via code, preferably server side. But I see this is not really how this might work, using asp hiddenfields for example.
So I have to get the values for the 3 fields server side, and somehow post this to [URL] - do I need to build the script in code and submit that? Not use this javascript?
I'm trying to make a email client but my biggest problem is finding a component that is (preferably) free. I need one that works with IMAP and POP3. Also would be nice if it could handle sending emails (Via SMTP). It would also be great if it worked with gmail.
I am using the EmailMessage to send email message(s) from my local computer. I am also using the SMTP server of my ISP and generally it works just fine. However, some of the emails are never delivered to the destination (bouncing emails) and i get "Mail Delivery failed: returning message to sender" How do i check if the message can be delivered rather than receive the "returning message to sender"? Should i check the destination email server? I have no idea from where to start actually.
I moved my web application to a server and im getting this error below, but on my localhost it works great. Im finding that the error has to have something to do with the dataset not pulling back any data, when I do a for each statement. But the weird thing is that I do a for each statement on another page and it works fine. Here is my for each statement, that im assuming doesnt work. The reason im assuming it b/c when i test it on local it works fine:
Dim retObj As New ClassLibrary1.sql_class For Each row As DataRow In retObj.sel_all_email_list(company).tables(0).rows email += row("EMAIL_ADDRESS") & "/" Next
I noticed that in order for the e-mail address to validate, I need to put in at least 3 characters before the @ symbol. Is this a requirement? What if I just want to have an e-mail address with 1 or 2 characters before the @ symbol?
i'm tying to send email in my application directly by the smtp server but the server doesn't allow me to do that. The application its used by everyone in the company, so i set the smtp client UseDefaultCredentials to True, but the server replies with this when i try to send an email:[code].....If i set the credentials by hand, the server sends the email. So my problem is how to make this work to everyone? I don't want to have one public/friend var all time in the application with the credentials of the current user?
This the code I used to minimized the form to the tray. It works perfectly using winXP but not in win7.Here's the screenshot:it must be minimized to tray. The code:
Private Sub NotifyIcon1_MouseDoubleClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles NotifyIcon1.MouseDoubleClick Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal
I am totally confused about the way SQL server Express works with my application, it seems like it is a hit and miss whether it works or not.In my Server Explorer if I show data, I see data in my tables.
I've got a datagrid with checkboxes which calls a routine called checkbox_CheckedChanged. So far, so good. I've managed to get it to work out the value of another column in the dataview, which allows me to ascertain the id of the row I'm dealing with. I'm trying to get it to change the value of the column which defines the initial value of the checkboxes, but the SQL I've written doesn't work when called by vb.net - it does work when entered manually into SQL server, however. Here's my code behind:
for some reason this works perfectly, when i do it in debug mode it adds the tasks to stagingtable, and then transfers none duplicates to the regular table. However, when i upload it to the server it does not work.
Using bcp As SqlBulkCopy = New SqlBulkCopy(connstring) bcp.ColumnMappings.Add(0, 1) bcp.ColumnMappings.Add(1, 2)
I need assistance converting the following C# code which works into VB code. The code detects when a specific type of USB device is connected and disconnected and writes the status to a status strip:
I am Developing a application in that i am returning the ipaddress for the patricular system and save it in the database.but when check the database it is showing the server ip address but i want get the particular ip address who is running that application.[code]...
Possible Duplicate:How to get local ip address using vb?I am using Silverlight3 with VB.NET. I have written the follwing code in my service file. When I run my project locally, it gives the IP address of my system as 192.168.1.12 successfully. But, when I host my project it wont return the IP adress of the system which I am usingie: If i host my project in system A which is of ip 192.168.1.12 and if I access the project from system B which is of ip 192.168.1.7, the output of my project will gives the IP of system A (where i have hosted my project). It should give the IP of system B where am running it. Similarly, if am accessing the project from system C means it should give the IP of system

I have a client/server chat application which I made . My question is how do I make the application work not only Locally but On any other network. I tried putting my IP in the part of creation of the client socket .
<p>I cannot for the life of me figure out why the below code works when I fire it from my localhost but does not work when I publish it. I am unable to remote Debug </p><p>but it seems that I am getting Error 2250... I've tried searching for it but its too damned generic a code?</p><p> </p><p>All I want is the UNC, why is everything in .NEt so damned difficult?
The code works fine when I run it locally, yet as soon as I have uploaded to our dev server it doesnt run, but also doesnt error.I did some research and found that I should have the thread impersonate the WindowsIdentity, which I have done but still the thread does not work, I also tried increasing the max threads in IIS and still nothing.Im running IIS 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2.The method being executed on a new thread is in a class in the App_Code folder and looks like:
Public Class RosterEmailer Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Dim thisID As String Dim thisName As String
I don't think the problem lies within the codes but..The last thing I did was use datediff.. and show the result on a label.. and when I wasn't satisfied with the result I changed a few lines, and I noticed it was still the same whenever I run it.I've tried changing/deleting the codes to my forms but whenever I run the program, it still works. I even tried deleting the form and it still works.
Aim to achieve :I want to change the SourceData of the Pivot table.I want to change it from 'C:[file.xlsx]SheetName'!RangeName to 'SheetName'!RangeName
I have the following implementation :
[Code]...
At the time of error str has value 'SheetName'!RangeName (This is fine.. )
I am also getting a message box before the exception :
Can not open the source file C:file.xlsx (Isn't that obvious because its in use)
When trying to get this program to filter appointments based on which doctor is selected, the code works fine with a sample database. When I try to use the database I have to, it doesn't show any appointments.
