I moved my web application to a server and im getting this error below, but on my localhost it works great. Im finding that the error has to have something to do with the dataset not pulling back any data, when I do a for each statement. But the weird thing is that I do a for each statement on another page and it works fine. Here is my for each statement, that im assuming doesnt work. The reason im assuming it b/c when i test it on local it works fine:
Dim retObj As New ClassLibrary1.sql_class
For Each row As DataRow In retObj.sel_all_email_list(company).tables(0).rows
email += row("EMAIL_ADDRESS") & "/"

I have created my site using ASP.NET Personal Starter Kits 3.5. I was created simple payroll system application. It's already working on my local pc. Now, my client want to install in their server and they need to access atleast 3 pc's to it. This application compiled using setup and deployment. During the installation the access database included with the same directory of the executable file. How to achieve this? here is the connection of my database
VB.Net, ADO.Net, .Net 2.0, VS2005 I need to implement the ability of MS Access to link to multiple servers. I have a client side SQL Server Express 2008 DB that supports a subset of SQL Server 2000 data. The Express DB is on a client that is a Tablet PC that is disconected and taken into the field. With Access MDB on the client I could add links to the SQL Server 2000 to extract the data in one SQL command. In ADO.Net I need two seperate connections, one for each server, so I can no longer reference both servers in the same SQL statement. While connected how to I 'refresh' my client side data using ADO.Net?
I have a query that is working fine on my local but when placed on the server it comes back with this error,

What i want this to do is Auto-Find a server application on the local network that has opened a TCP port (Say, 6473) Then tell the user the IP address that it's on. I have searched for hours, but to no avail. How would I accomplish this?
For my application, I have a page that redirects to another page (within the same application) via Server.Transfer. I need to do this because the original page has an object that I need to access by using the Page.PreviousPage property.
Once my "destination" page has been fully loaded, a local deep clone that I made of the source page's object is suddenly released from memory once I perform a postback? Is this by design--something to do with the Server.Transfer?
Page1.aspx: Public Structure myCustomObject Implements ICloneable Dim someField as String = "default value" ' Default value
[code]....
At this point, EVERYTHING works as it should. Stuff got cloned over correctly and all is well.(Let's say this is on a button click event) Debug.Write(newObj.someField) ' Output: "default value"<- This is NOT "changed value from source page" for some reason when it was working literally a few lines ago! My guess is that the Server.Transfer stops any association with the source page after the new page loads.
I am making a VB.NET application that can download/backup the database that is currently on a remote server. I have Remote Server IP,Username,Password and Database name. I am also able to connect to it. But I don't know what to do after connecting to it. I don't know what all files are need to be backed up. (I think database and log file both must be backed up, I am not sure).

what is the best approach in VB.NET to get the entire table from the Ms SQL 2008 R2 database and save it in the program (dynamic?) array or something which is easy to translate into bytes and send to other device via socket communication?
I have an off-line project. User uses a laptop to input data off line into local SQL server express. Once connected to domain (on line), local data will sync with remote SQL server using sync framework. (It is done, works fine)One job left:Since another user used another program to update some tables in remote SQL server, such as CUSTOMER, SHIPINFO, my off-line program need to update these new data once connect to domain. Here is what I design in Pseudo (take CUSTOMER as example)
1) In remote SQL server, create a store procedure (sp_customer) to select all CUSTOMERS
2) In application, create a dataset (dst_customer) based on sp_customer
3) Insert all customers data which is in remote SQL server but not in local SQL server based on CUSTOMER_ID
I have made one application for needs of my company. It is published on company's server and it is possible to use the APP only in company because access db is on local server as well. Now I have small update and when users want to update APP they get this error.
i am looking into web services to be used for a windows forms application that i want to connect to my website and return data from my database. One thing i am concerned about is security. I have only played with web service a little bit but it seems to allow direct access to it by url and then run the service, showing the results in the browser. i guess i could set it up to accept a password in the code. i guess really if i have to pass in the query criteria to the sql from the application then showing the records in a browser should not be a problem. in my web application for the site i can keep all my web services in the app_data folder for no browser access.
i just need some advice in this area. goods, bads, other options if better. i don't have a full grasp on working this way from a client side windows application.
I am in the following situation: I have been requested to write an application for managing where we have customers - this must flag up when we try to add a customer too close to another one, so must be able to calculate distances based on post codes.I have chosen to use ASP.Net VB because I am fairly good at that and I like that the browser does all of the layout for me (using Java or C# would mean having to position each element individually).I have copied a few files from the company's website (which I also wrote) and modified them to account for the database structure we need for the new app.I have designed the database to account for the requirements of the new app.I have set up a website in IIS on port 81 through which to view the app.
So I have an application which uses MSSQL server as datasource. Is there anyways I can avoid using any database server and use a local file as datasource ?
I have developed an ASP.Net 2.0 application and I am facing problem in sending email from my Web Server. Following is the VB code I have used to send email from my web application. Thing is when I try to send email from my local system (laptop) the email goes out fine and reaches the recipient address instantly but when I try to send email from my web server it fails. My hosting provider gave me a relay-host address for sending out email. The email goes out fine but the relay host has an annoying amount of delay in email delivery which is a problem during the sign up process.
Here is the code I am using:I have imported system.net.mail in my code and used async="true" on the aspx page.
Private Sub SendMail(ByVal actcd As String) Dim mailMessage As New System.Net.Mail.MailMessage mailMessage. From = New MailAddress(support@ihomejobs.com)
[code]....
I have tried the above settings and they work fine from outlook and the application when tried on my laptop but these settings fail on web server.I want to send email from my web server without using a relay-host.
I need a vb source to get the web server path files and download it to the local machine. actually a web html page in that i have href tag to call the vb exe file, in vb file i have to find current server path and download some supporting files to local machine
<VB.Net 2008 + SQL 2005 Server> I am trying to implement an HR application to save an employee picture into local folder of , not into Database, and retrieve by VB.Net application. Only the file location of the picture image will be stored in database instead of the picture.
How would i go about seting up a local database to store data so it can be used offline then to sync up with SQL server 2008 r2. i've got to the point of having a test project with a local DB that stores the data and a test SQL server but know idea how to set it up to sync with between databases.
An error that arises when I take a vb project Visual Studio 2010 that works on my local machine to a server. How precisely would I work around it?
