View 3 RepliesIs there any way visual studio block Port 8080 to stop the internet? I want to make an administration system and I have a functionality that blocks the internet of a computer but everytime i look for a solution in the web it is either from another language or just a discussion about network protocols. Can someone help me? I had a background of tcp/ip protocols but i really can't figure it out and convert it to codes using visual studio.
View 5 RepliesI have installed VS2008 in my machine. I made a small program in the VB. When I start debugging, the system responds by indicating that the program is running but I don't see any output. Is their a possibility that VS2008 debuggers woun't work with Windows XP Home Edition which comes with my laptop.

I have finished working on a vb.net application (using MS Visual Studio 2008). Now I want to make it check for updates automatically before it starts. So, in the Project Properties I selected the Publish tab, set up a publish version (1.0.0.1). As the publish folder, I entered a local folder ("c:\app_publish").

I have a solution built in Visual Studio 2008 and wish to add some new features of CSS3, hence I converted the solution to Visual Studio 2010.Even after its successful conversion I am still not able to see the CSS3 features. I need to use border-radius property of CSS3.Can I use it on the solution converted from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010?

View 1 RepliesThis is my first try of Visual Basic 2010 Express, though I have 10 yrs+ experience in VBA. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a desktop pc with following installed: Visual Basic 2010 Express... just installed! SQL Server 205 Express ... been running on pc for 12 months I've created a new DB in SQL for my test application, but have not added any users or permissions to it as I'm using Windows authentication.
I've created a new Windows Forms Solution in VB2010EXP and tried adding a new Data Source for my new SQL DB, but it keeps giving error message about not having rights ot the db. 2 days of searching on the web has confirmed many others with similar issues, but no obvious solution. Eventually I find a few threads about permissions and moving the mdf into the root of the HDD, so try moving my mdf file up closer to the root of the Hard Drive msf was in C:Documents and Settings\_SharedDataApplication_DataMSSQL2005Data now in C:SQL2005Data

I'm trying to search for a file in VB. If it exists I'd like to read it in. If it doesn't not exist I'd like to create it. I'm working in Visual Studio 2008. I was using a Streamreader before, but when I did that I was never getting any sort of error if the file wasn't there, which isn't what I want.
View 2 RepliesI have just installed VS 2010 Premium on my Windows Vista Machine. I've noticed that in VS2008 when I typed for eg " Public property MyProperty() as string " and pressed the enter..I was getting automatically the expected result. Meaning by that , that VS2008 was generating for me the rest of the code. [code] In Visual Studio 2010 I am not getting this anymore. What happened ? Is this feature still working in VS 2010 ?

View 10 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio 2003, and I have a macro similar to this:
[Code]...
The first time use the macro, it works fine. Each subsequent time, even after I detach from the process, the .Attach() doesn't seem to do anything. The same thing happens as I step through the macro... the proc.Attach() gets called on the correct process, but nothing happens. One note: when viewing the process in the Processes window, the Type column for my process shows ".NET, Win32".
I cannot get the VB monthcalendar control to obey any of the properties I set for it, or the commands I give it programatically. It works (sort of - but with obvious bugs) in the state it arrives when copied to a new form straight out of the toolbox, eg when I click on a date etc, however if I set the background colour in Properties (or programatically), or try to change the BoldedDates programatically (as per numerous examples I have found) it ignores me!
I can create a brand new project, new form, add the monthcalendar out of the toolbox, change its properties in the Properties window, & when I run it the changed properties (eg background colour) are totally ignored.

View 2 RepliesI'm looking for a control that allows images to be placed onto it and moved about. Moreover, I need to draw lines between the images. It will sort of be like the query designer in SQL Man Studio. It will be used as a virtual desktop where a variety of objects (and their icon representations) can be freely placed and moved. I'm having a blank and cant remember where I saw this before.
View 2 RepliesI have a start and stop button on a form and would like a pause and restart button aswell.
I can start my audio file (WAV file in the C-Drive) fine with;
My.Computer.Audio.Play("C:Bleep_TestBleep_Test.wav", AudioPlayMode.Background)
Thus allowing other functions to be carried out.I can stop my audio with;
My.Computer.Audio.Stop()
But i would like to be able to pause and restart the audio?There are timers and getkeystates envolved with this form. The timers I can pause and restart, the getkeystates are a function called in conjunction with the timers as a case statement, (all this is working).how to pause and restart the audio, bearing in mind the loaction and the other features of the form? (I only wish i was a clever as you guys/girls out there to return the help rather than leaching your knowledge continously)

View 1 RepliesI am programming in VB9 WPF and Blend 3. I was working on a program in Blend 3; I can work on all my forms and everything runs fine in Blend, but when I opened it in VS the WFP forms would not display (I have five of them in my program and they all have the same problem in Visual Studio.), but I can run the program in VS, see the forms in run mode, and work on the code behind with no problem. I can't determine what is causing the WPF forms error in VS. It appears I have a "ResourceDictionary_4 error, but I cannot locate that dictionary in either Visual Studio or Blend. I even tried searching my entire computer and can't find any trace of it. Are there any ideas as to how do I solve this problem? The error messages I am getting are:
