Weird Error Every Time Open My Project In Visual Studio
Feb 25, 2011I have a VB application that uses databases and writes information onto an Excel-file. I have the Excel-file in my Project folder(Visual Studio 2008ProjectsProjectXProjectXExcel objektitListy.xls)Every time I open up my project I get the following error:[code]The thing is, I don't know why the error starts up in the first place. Why is the VS 'unable to open the module file' even though it exists in that folder and can be opened normally?Also, why does the error disappear when the file is opened manually from the containing folder?

When I use Me.close() associated with this button it closes the entire project and not just the single form can anyone.
Tabcontrol With Close Tab Button Like Visual Studio
Feb 8, 2012I'm in the proccess of creating an XML editor nothing fancy for a project I'm working on!
I got the idea of using the tab control to host multiple Richtexbox controls, nothing fancy.
I got the idea from Visual studio(2010) that it would be nice to have a close tab button, on the tab, but I can on get it to display on the tab

Dialog Forms - Why Does Visual Studio Close Them In Two Ways
Jan 10, 2011A Dialog that is added to a Windows Forms project comes with two buttons (OK and Cancel) and Click event subroutines for each. The subroutines close the Dialog with different DialogResult enumerations. Here's the code in the one for Cancel: Me.DialogResult = System.Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Cancel Me.Close() But either statement (changing DialogResult to an enumeration other than Null or Close), by itself, will close the Dialog as well. (Try commenting out one and then the other to prove it to yourself.) Here's the question: Why both? Why not just one or the other?

Permission Conflict - Close Word Or Visual Studio In Order To Save The File
Jan 8, 2010I write an HTML file with MS Word, and use it on my application. The problem is that I need to close Word or Visual Studio in order to save the file, or compile the code, because each one reserves the file permission rights. The html file is only written by word, and only read from VS. At compile time, the file is copied to execution directory. Is there a way to give both programs simultaneous permission rights?

Apr 17, 2011This is my first try of Visual Basic 2010 Express, though I have 10 yrs+ experience in VBA. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a desktop pc with following installed: Visual Basic 2010 Express... just installed! SQL Server 205 Express ... been running on pc for 12 months I've created a new DB in SQL for my test application, but have not added any users or permissions to it as I'm using Windows authentication.
I've created a new Windows Forms Solution in VB2010EXP and tried adding a new Data Source for my new SQL DB, but it keeps giving error message about not having rights ot the db. 2 days of searching on the web has confirmed many others with similar issues, but no obvious solution. Can't Open .vbp Files In Visual Studio 2008
Feb 22, 2011When I'm in VS2008, and I go to File > Open Project/Solution, it won't let me select a .vbp file type when I have it set to Objects of type "All Project Files (*.sln; *.dsw; *.vcw; *.rptproj; *.dwp" (it looks like it's cut off at that point). Why can't I open a .vbp file with Visual Studio 2008?

Now when i used to use Visual Studio (Visual Basic) 2008 to develop for Windows 7, I used the command "FORMNAME.show()" And that command would open the form.The Problem i am having now is that "SHOW" is not included and im guessing that there has to be another way to do this. For the Beta version of my app, i created a test Button that i want to open a "SplitPage1" the button is called " btnOpen"?Now to give you an idea what i wanna do, i made buttons on the top right hand corner that are called "File , Edit , View" and so on, and when the user clicks file, i want a spiltpage to open with all the options the user would regularly have when clicking file on a menu tab in a program. the options would be lined up on the left hand side when you hover over lets say "New Email" on the right hand side there will be a short description that will appear saying "create a new email to send" and when clicked on it will take the user back to the mainPage and it redirect the browser to "SendnewEmail url".

(1) Open the solution in the Visual Studio IDE.
(2) On the <B>Analyze</B> menu, click <B>Launch Performance Wizard</B>.
(3) From the <B>Which of the following available targets would you like to profile?</B> drop-down list, select the name of the application that you want to profile, and then click <B>Next</B>. You can add more binaries later.
(4) Accept the default Sampling profiling method, and then click Next.
(5) Click <B>Finish</B>.
Only problem is that there is no <B>Analyze</B> menu in the IDE.

Sep 29, 2010I am programming in VB9 WPF and Blend 3. I was working on a program in Blend 3; I can work on all my forms and everything runs fine in Blend, but when I opened it in VS the WFP forms would not display (I have five of them in my program and they all have the same problem in Visual Studio.), but I can run the program in VS, see the forms in run mode, and work on the code behind with no problem. I can't determine what is causing the WPF forms error in VS. It appears I have a "ResourceDictionary_4 error, but I cannot locate that dictionary in either Visual Studio or Blend. I even tried searching my entire computer and can't find any trace of it. Are there any ideas as to how do I solve this problem? The error messages I am getting are:

Nov 6, 2010This morning I opened up my project The Bible Study Tool and got a pop up warning box that says the following: There is no editor available for 'G:VisualStudio ProjectsThe Bible Study ToolThe Bible Study ToolBSTMain.vb'. Make sure the application for the file type (.vb) is installed. I do not know how to 'make sure the application for the file type (.vb) is installed. I get same error no matter what solution (program) I try to open. I can see the forms code window, but when I double-click the form in the solution explorer I get the above warning.

.net - AddHandler For Custom Controls Error Visual Studio?
May 27, 2012I have a MouseEnter event which currently handles some custom controls on my form. The program is a card game. I have a collection (handCards) that gets populated when the user draws a card and then it adds the latest card to the form. This collection holds cards of various custom types, all which inherit from picturebox. Drawing the cards from the deck and adding them to the form works fine. The trouble I am having is that at runtime, after a card is drawn and added to the form, I've created an addhandler line of code to have those cards respond to my MouseEnter event, but my addhandler line of code is telling me that MouseEnter is not an event of object. How can I get around this so that after a card is drawn and added to the form, when the mouse enters the new custom control, my MouseEnter event fires? Here's one of the many things I've tried and what I think should be the simplest and easiest that should work.deck.DrawCard()AddHandler handCards(handCards.Count).MouseEnter, AddressOf Cards_MouseEnter
P.S. the MouseEnter event works fine for custom controls that are on the form prior to runtime and all it does is take the image of the control and enlarge it by placing the image to a bigger card on the form.
Deployment Package Error In Visual Studio 2008?
Dec 31, 2009I installed the latest version of Toad yesterday. When I restarted Visual Studio 2008, the project that is my installation package for my application would not longer load. The message I get in the output window is "The Visual Basic Deploy Deployment Package ({CCD045E8-6236-4B3D-B820-97F7DD14C77C}) did not load because of previous errors." When I try to reload that project, I get the following error: " The operation could not be completed. No such interface supported" I tried to repair the VS installation, but that originally failed. The Deployment folder under Common7Tools was currupted so I ran check disk. A few bad files and clusters were found and corrected and the second run of check disk ran clean. I uninstalled Visual Studio and then reinstalled it, but am still getting the same error. I tried reinstalling .Net 3.5 before the reinstall of VS as well. I tried creating a new installation project, but that failed as well.

Jul 15, 2009I have a large solution which contains a mixture of C# and VB.Net projects.If I get compilation errors because a project which several other projects depend upon fails to build, it is very hard to see the actual error(s) because of the number of VB errors in the error list window in Visual Studio. C# errors found in the projects I compiled show in the error list, but all VB errors appear (including in those projects I have not just compiled).Is there any way of turning off this behaviour so that VB errors only appear for projects that I have explicitly compiled?
