I'm developing a web application that displays items from a work queue to a user. When an item is selected I have the app lock that item out so no other user can select it. By hitting the back button in the app it unlocks the item.
I want to be able to unlock the item if the user hits the backspace key. I know what code I need to unlock it. I just need to know how to make the code execute on backspace key stroke.
Is there any command in Visual basic that can execute a function every time I choose just like setInterval in Javascript

View 1 RepliesI'm new to VB and Windows programming but I do have a fair amount of experience programming at the command line level. A friend is having problems with his laptop. He does a lot of speaking engagements with Powerpoint. His laptop uses the F7 key to toggle the output to his external monitor port to the video projector. The F7 key has stopped doing this. Is there a way to create a Windows program that will do this without using a DOS window? He is not familiar with command line processing and needs something that he can double-click.

Depending on the database type(oracle or SQL) i am preparing the Command text as Select functionName(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?) from dual; (For Oracle) Adding the parameter values of the function. Now performing the ExecuteScalar which is not working saying invalid parameter. This works with ODBC connection string. But ODBC doesn't with 64bit. My Requirement: Code should execute a user defined stored procedure by taking the values at runtime.

in wpis_v3.bat I have :

status.bat launches script to check license availbilty on the server and write it to report.txt ... by launching just wpis_v3.bat it works . report is generated with all information about licenses . But when I launch from VB icon - report file is generate but is total empty . I observed that with any bat which contains >> VB doesn't write into file. Is there other way to acchive it ? I would like that VB will show only specific lines from this report.txt - which contain string : "Site" and other "Client" .

So the user will choose the days and the hours for my program open and execute the progress that I programed on the button START, so how to make it start on the days/hours that user wants? Btw the program will stay on the Notification area.
I made a web browser and i want to make the backspace key go to a specified url instead of to the previous one. this is what ive got but not working it freezes the application if i press back space

I'm trying to send a key stroke to one application, through PostMessage. I am using too Spy++ to try to understand how to send the message, as I do not fully understand its inner workings. In this picture, the first item(selected item) was made with an actual key stroke made by myself. The one with a red elipse around it(below) was made with the following code:

I guess it must have something to do with the last PostMessage() parameter, but I can't figure out how it really works. I can see in the original key stroke the ScanCode = 48, and in mine its 0, and also fExtended is 1 and in mine is 0. How can I make it look the same? edit: Here is the msdn link. from the button1 click..if i run the: test...it works fine.but if i call it from a backgroundworker..it doesnt do anything.I'm going to assume this is a limitation of the backgroundworker...is there a workaround?

The query is:

The error is:"You have tried to execute a query that does not include the spec ified expression 'ID' as a part of the aggragate function."
The query works fine without the 'Count' and 'CoverPrice' count and sum to the query.
My basis of my programForm 1 has functions, which are controlled through button1 which sends an email, At the end of the send email function I have Dialog1.ShowDialog() Which opens Dialog1 to say "Email has been sent" With a button, I want this button to execute the whole program, How do I do this?
