I'm trying to fill a pdf with iTextsharp and save a new file with a different name to a directory. I'm not getting any errors when I run it, nor do I see anything in the code as an error. But I'm missing something. Maybe I'm not writing the file to the directory correctly. I removed several af.SetField's for brevity.
Public Sub fill_form(ByVal Source As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
Dim newFile As String = "D:\Inetpub\wwwroot\pdfs\" + data1.Text + ".pdf"
Dim ps As PdfStamper = Nothing

we download a template form, prefill values which will be static, export a XML template the XML is parsed with a .NET forms app, dynamic values are addedthe resulting XML needs to be imported back into the PDF templateAll goes well using the MergeXfaData method oniTextSharp, however for some reason, date/time fields are not being filled in (textfields and checkboxes work ok). Cannot figure out why. Searching through forums I discovered someone saying XFA only works for textfields. Why is this and how to work around?
I'm creating a simple .NET console application where I want to save a file in a folder that's part of the root project, like so: SolutionName.ProjectNameTestData. I am trying to find a way to allow my users to choose the directory to save files into, THe file name is automatically generated as it has a naming convention and i am able to pre program a location to save to but i d like to be able to allow my users to decide themselves which directory they want to save the files to and to have the ability to choose which directory to save to
I want to use a background worker to reduce a form's loading time. I have already created this and reduced the loading time. But this time, something didn't work right:
Private Sub Form2_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Me.Cursor = Cursors.WaitCursor BackgroundWorkerMain.RunWorkerAsync() End Sub
i have here a code that allows me to draw on a picturebox, but my problem is i want it to save on a specific directory for example: "C:image". how can i do this?[code..]
I would like to modify SaveFileDialog to instead save a new directory (which will contain new files automatically generated for the user based on the name of the directory). I can produce the necessary code to carry out the intended functionality, but I want the dialog to prompt for a 'folder name' instead of 'file name' and to not display 'save as type'. Is this possible? Is there a better solution for a create new folder/directory dialog? I know about folderbrowsedialog, but I need to force the user to name a new directory and identify the location
I am using Visual Basic 2010, and i am trying to save a directory with a name "AP Backup" and assign also the current date on Directory Name.e.g. AP Backup 29-11-2011.
My web and sql db are on two different servers. I'm developing a component in my vb.net web app which uses sql dbmail to send mail. That part is already working but part of the requirement is to allow the users to add an attachment to their email. SQL dbmail requires an absolute path for the email attachment for example, in sql:Declare @Attachments nvarchar(max)
Select @Attachments = 'D:emp ewreport.pdf'So currently in my vb code I have the following:
I Have a folder in this path C:UsersXXXDesktopOriginalXXXinDebugBackup And when I save my project with "XXX" name the same time I need to change the Backup Folder using that save filedialog name and it shouldn't overwrite it.
Private Sub SaveProject_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SaveProject.Click Using sfdlg As New Windows.Forms.SaveFileDialog sfdlg.OverwritePrompt = True sfdlg.InitialDirectory = "C:"
This is a new question based on the response from an older post. I needed to save a value when my app is run for the first time that would be applicable to all users who logon to the PC and use my application. The setting is only known at the time of the install so Application settings with application or user scope are unsuitable. I was advised to save the setting to an external file and save/read it as needed. The obvious choice was to save the file to the projects application path (keeping things tidy). Everything worked fine during testing but when the application is installed on a PC, the application path becomes C:program files application nameetc. When I try to execute the code that saves the file, I get a permissions denied error. I understand that it's part of the UAC control but when did it become acceptable to stop developers programmatically creating files in their own application folder?
I am needing to allow the user to choose a directory to save in. They can create a new directory if they want/need, and once they choose the directory, my program will save a few pre-coded files into that directory.
Im wondering why this doesn't work: It sets initialdirectory to directorypath and doesn't traverse into save folder. I've tried it all. Anyone have any ideas of how to get it to work? [Code]
I have a fairly straight forward peice of code that just tries to set the default saved directory for a standard .net save dialogue to a specific folder. If that folder doesn't exist, it sets it to the desktop. This works fine for everyone but one user who is getting the following error: Could not find special directory 'Desktop' How is that even possible?

what I want to do is have a column name in the excel worksheet which is not included in the code..i'm getting the data from a datagridview but it only shows the data in the excel.. i also want the field name of these data to be shown..another, as you can see in the code given, the directory is fixed.. what do i have to do to choose a directory to save my work? and also, i have many gridviews and whenever i'm exporting my work to the excel worksheet, it always overwrites my work.. i want to choose the directory to save, also show the field names, and make a separate worksheet for every gridview..
i just want to ask how can i save the file location or directory of a file in mysql without deleting its slashes...i tried to save it directly.. for example: the original directory is c:folderimg.jpg and when i checked it on mysql it is save as c:folderimg.jpg
I just want to display data of a single column from an oracle table into a datagridview or a listbox for readonly with no requirements to make changes to it. Simply display the information.What is the best way forward... To used DATAADAPTER or DATAREADER.s DATAGRIDVIEW SLOWER TO FILL THAN a LISTBOX.i am using the following code to fill datatgridview but for some odd reasons at time it is slow to display the data. I want to use listbox instead
Dim ds As New DataSet Dim adp As OracleDataAdapter adp = New OracleDataAdapter("select customer_name from customers")
I have a bunch of PDFs that I'm just trying to open, resize the page, and then save. I'm also hoping that the file sizes will shrink significantly doing so. I am using iTextSharp and the resizing works just fine, but the file size is nearly identical, ever so slightly larger in fact. Here's the function I have now:
Is there a way to extract the value for APPEARANCE_NORMAL from each stamp in a PDF using iTextSharp? I know how to find all the Stamp annotations, but I am unsure how to get APPEARANCE_NORMAL.
in my document i am creating 3-4 pdfptables. at design time i dont know the size of the tables. i need to place the 2nd table right after the first, but i dont know the position of the first (i cant calculate it because i dont know how big it is). how do i know where to place the second table?
I have an instance where I have a logo image as part of some artwork..If a user uploads a new logo I have a form field which is larger than the default logo.I then use that form field to position the new image.
The problem is I need to set the background colour of that form field to white so that it covers the old logo in the event that the new image is smaller than the old logo..
what I have done is:foreach (var imageField in imageReplacements) { fields.SetFieldProperty(imageField.Key, "bgcolor", iTextSharp.text.Color.WHITE, null); fields.RegenerateField(imageField.Key); PdfContentByte overContent = stamper.GetOverContent(imageField.Value.PageNumber); float[] logoArea = fields.GetFieldPositions(imageField.Key);
[Code]...
The problem with this is that the background colour of the field is set to white and the image then doesn't appear.. i remove the SetFieldProperty and RegenerateField commands and the image replacement works fine.is there a way to set a stacking order on layers?
Dim datatable As PdfPTable = New PdfPTable(4) Dim page As Rectangle = document.PageSize datatable.TotalWidth = page.Width - document.LeftMargin - document.RightMargin
[code]....
even though im decrementing last_pos by the height of the previous table, they still lap over in a weird way like this:
I need to convert fdf files to pdf in asp.net using vb. I found some code that I'm trying to learn from. What I would like to do is upload the fdf file and then output a pdf to a directory and email it out. The fdf files are coming from a shared linux/php host (using the php fdf functions is all I can do here on this host) that are emailed to a central inbox. I'm going to pick up the files from the inbox and upload them to a win/asp.net box to convert to pdf.The code i found is below.
* Dim pdfFlat As New MemoryStream() * Dim pdfReader As New PdfReader(context.Request.MapPath(pdfFormFileName)) * Dim pdfStamper As New PdfStamper(pdfReader, pdfFlat) * ' bind fields from fdf... * Dim fdfReader As New FdfReader(context.Request.InputStream) * Dim pdfForm As AcroFields = pdfStamper.AcroFields *
