Fill A Combo Box/DropDownList?

I am trying to fill a combo box from SQL Server 2008. Getting the Combo Box to populate isn't the problem. What I need to do is have the text field read the field value that goes with a specific id that I search by, while keeping all other fields available to chose from to change the value for that specific id and save back to the database. I know this isn't clear here is the best example I can think of:
COMBOBOX --FieldValue------->
--DropDownField1--> Ten
--DropDownField2--> Twenty
[Code].....
I seriously might have to infest in some Rogaine if I have to spend another ten minutes on this. I do know that I am missing an id to compare to but when I add the id into the sql statement the combo box only fills with the one value that it equals to without the option to chose from the several others to change.

I have a problem with DropDownList's SelectedIndexChanged event. when the value of district DropDownList is changed, it fires its SelectedIndexChanged event but it does not fill the licencee DropDownList. Also, when the value of dynamically created brandDropDownList is changed, it first fires the SelectedIndexChanged event of district DropDownList and then fills the licencee DropDownList. I am giving some code here so you can understand what I am saying.

I have a combo box that is set to dropdownlist. After a user enters and saves the data, the data for all non-dropdownlist fields auto clears. How do I clear the data for this type of field? I have tried combobox.text = "" but that does not work. There are no data bound items with this combo box.

I ahve a combox (cbnames) on a login form which is populated with items. I make a selection and click on ok. Form1 appears and I have a textbox which I want to fill with the selected item from the combo box.
However, on form1 (view code) I don't appear to see cbnames. cbnames is available on the login form. How do i make a combobox public? or accessible to other forms?

As the title suggests I have a ComboBox and 2 listBoxes on a form. I need to fill the left ListBox with items not now asssociated with the ComboBox selection and the ListBox on the right with items already associated with the ComboBox selection. Is it possible to populate the ComboBox and each ListBox using only one query and returning a dataset of ALL the data to do so, or do I need to Populate the ComboBox, then use 2 queries, one for each ListBox?

I have the following query that executes when my form loads. It's the rowsource for my combo box. The query is fine and populates the combo perfect, however, when i click into the combo box I cannot click out of it or even close the form. I have tried taking out the line of code that fills the form via table adapter on load and it works fine (opening the form unbound by the main table). Has anyone run into this before? I have another combo box on the form setup the exact same way and this is not happening. I've experimented with different datatypes etc....

I have a window having 2 dropdowmlists(schemename-SN and propertyno-PN) , one chkbox ,one "VIEW" button.SN has options "all" with value=0 and many other options with respctive values.Now,i want the code should behaves as follows:
1.0n window onload, SN must b visible bt PN nt.
2.if i select SN other thn All...the PN shud b visible and if i select "All" ,PN hides.
3.when check box is checked- PN hides,and if it is unchecked- PN visible..
Important:-This whole ddl n chk box are in updatable panel,button is nt in that.I want a browser compatible code so javascript can't b used directly(cz they give problem in mozzila and chrome).Right now, i have done this JavaScript and its is working fine.

I have combo boxes for user choices on the form. One combo box for name, one for phone number and one for email. I first created that to allow user to make select in each combo box. As more "user friendly" interface, I I would like to associate the selection made on cmbBxReqstrName with corresponding phone number and email and cause the phone number and email combo box to "auto fill" in their respective combo boxes based on the selection in the cmbBxReqstrName. It was suggested to me that a two dimesional array might be an option. I read up on arrays but don't quite comprehend the coding part to access the data in the array and fill that to the combo box or I guess use the index from array to index the combo box list.

I have found a couple of examples on the internet to do this but really struggling to get it working in VB. (Tried a converter but had mixed results) I need the selection options of a Dropdownlist to be populated based upon the differing values in the first dropdown list.
Can anyone help with a releativley simple example in VB? Not fussed if the values are "hard coded" in the script. Or a SQL bit that pulls the data from a table

i wanted to link options selected from Comb box A (general) to specific options in combo box B (specific). I want to pick a word in Combo box A that has specific words/phrases in Combo Box B show. But not all the words to show in the combo box B if they aren't associated with the Word picked in Combo Box A. Ex.When "Soda" is picked in A, only "Coke, Sprite, Fanta" should be visible in combo box b, not everything else.This is the code i used to make the boxes, but i don't know how to link them.

How to use a databound combo box to display one field in the drop down, and another as the combo box text on roll up? Using VS 2005... For example, I have a datatable that has 2 fields. One called "ShortDesc" and one called "LongDesc". I want to be able to see the "LongDesc" column values in the drop down on the combo box. Combo box 2 is filled based on a selection made in combo box 1 and a listview is populated based on the selection made in combo box 2.When the LostFocus event completes in combo box 1, it hits the LostFocus event in Combo Box 2 but it shouldn't. I've got some code like the following. I want it so that when I chose an item in 'select 1' it changes the in the second combo box but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it. Does it have to be AJax or can it be done with just Javascript?

I just want to display data of a single column from an oracle table into a datagridview or a listbox for readonly with no requirements to make changes to it. I have a form with 8 combo boxes and would like to disble certain combo boxes, depending on what was selected in another combo box. The reason is so the user will not have a blank return on a query. The first form I created like this worked great, no issues. This form only allows one combo box (Number_of_Lightheads) to disable any others. Below is the code I have for this Form. why the other combo boxes will not disable the ones that are called out in the code?
