Mar 23, 2011I'm trying to write a jukebox application as part of my undergraduate coursework at university, and have hit a brick wall. Using while loops, I'm trying to display tracks/songs under particular genres, as listed in a simple text file, from which the programme reads.The issue is, although I can get the columns to be named after the appropriate genres, as stated in the text file, the songs are read, and placed in the first column, regardless. I can't seem to get them to move to the next column, when the previous genre is finished.[code]

May 13, 2009I want to be able to have a dozen or so text boxes be emptied into separate columns in a row of a datagridview. This way the text boxes can be cleared and have new values entered then save the new values as a second row in the datagridview. This is so my VB gui which which runs everything through an old cmd line program, can do batches instead of one run at a time.
The problem is I have absolutely no idea how datagridview works. I've tried searching google and only found some vague things and stuff about databases. I also tried the MSDN library and that was of no help either, couldn't find anything on simply adding stuff and if I had it'd probably be to complicated to be of use to me.

Nov 4, 2011I need to have multiple lines in a cell, so I use DataGridViewTextBoxColumn.DefaultCellStyle.WrapMode =DataGridViewTriState.True. I add columns (datagridviewtextboxcolumn) in designer. Then bound datagridview to a table which has exact the same columns as datagridview. Then I find that datagridview has duplicate columns: the first column is empty (which I guess is added through designer), the second column is filled with data from table. My question is how to correctly allow multi-lines and bound to a table at the same time?

Dynamically Binding To Datagrid
May 3, 2012I'm trying to bind a dataset to a datagrid. I've found many examples online... all look similar to below. My problem is that the bind seems to work, but nothing shows on the datagrid. It's blank. Both rowcounts in the message boxes display the correct number of rows for both the dataset and datagrid. Does something need to be initialized in the datagrid properties?

Mar 15, 2012I have a datagridview bound to a datatable. I want replace one of the cells with a combo box and bind that combobox to one of the columns in the datatable. I have been able to replace the cell OK but currently have two issues I have not been able to resolve.
1. When I add items to the drop down (items.add ("Yes")...) they don't appear in the drop down box.
2. I can't figure out the syntax to bind a particular column in my datatable to the newColumn(combobox) in the datagridview.

C# - Sort On Multiple Columns In WPF Datagrid?
Jun 24, 2011How can I set up my WPF datagrid to sort on multiple columns similar to having two sortable columns, clicking on the header of the first column for a primary sort and then SHIFT clicking on the header of the second column for a secondary sort. I would like the multiple column sort to happen automatically when the user clicks on the header of the first column without having to SHIFT click on the second column header. Is there a way to do this entirely in the xaml? If not how can I do this in the code behind? Currently using VB.Net but a C# snippet is acceptable if you have one.

Sep 1, 2011I am using DataGrid control in VB. I have created a DataTable at runtime and added 5 columns in this Datatable. I binded the data table with DataGrid control.
Width of DataGrid is 880. The default width of 5 columns of data table in DataGrid is 100. So for 5 columns width used = 500. So an empty space of 380 left at the right hand cornor of DataGrid. I want to fill this empty space with these 5 columns. I want to increase the width of columns so that it fully covered in DataGrid.

Oct 27, 2011I'm having trouble with some Silverlight functionality. My goal is to get some data from the database and display it in my grid. Sounds simple, however, there are 7 columns that are always going to be there.
The rest of the columns depends on the account. There could be 2 (called Actions) associated with a certain account, compared to another account that could have 5, and the action names can be completely different.
I have successfully been able to return a list of all the possible actions for the given account, and then adding the columns to the grid in the code bihind(VB), and I can bind my data to the grid for all the columns that are already known. The way I store the item's actions, is a Property of type List. My problem is finding a way to iterate through the actions list of the Item object in order to bind those actions to the grid.
