Displaying Info From Textfile In Separate Columns

I'm trying to write a jukebox application as part of my undergraduate coursework at university, and have hit a brick wall. Using while loops, I'm trying to display tracks/songs under particular genres, as listed in a simple text file, from which the programme reads.The issue is, although I can get the columns to be named after the appropriate genres, as stated in the text file, the songs are read, and placed in the first column, regardless. I can't seem to get them to move to the next column, when the previous genre is finished.[code]

I have a .txt file, with five columns - each column is seperated by a space " "
What I'm trying to do is, 1, Add column headers and 2, align the columns to make them look presentable.
For the first part all I know is how to append lines to a text file, my problem is that whenever I append to the textfile it always gets appended to the bottom.
Using SW As New IO.StreamWriter("d:\temp\test.txt", True)
SW.WriteLine("The Headers Should Go Here")
End Using
How would I append to the top of the textfile?

how could one insert in a form popping up info boxes. I used mousehover event but the only idea was to display a messagebox.What I mean is like the info boxes displayed in visual studio when the mouse pointer is in the area above an object or a function etch. This is a sample code so far:

I want to be able to have a dozen or so text boxes be emptied into separate columns in a row of a datagridview. This way the text boxes can be cleared and have new values entered then save the new values as a second row in the datagridview. This is so my VB gui which which runs everything through an old cmd line program, can do batches instead of one run at a time.
The problem is I have absolutely no idea how datagridview works. I've tried searching google and only found some vague things and stuff about databases. I also tried the MSDN library and that was of no help either, couldn't find anything on simply adding stuff and if I had it'd probably be to complicated to be of use to me.

I have a text box in a program and it is working as I want/need it to with 1 exception... Is there a way to make it output on? I do not want it accessible to users to put information into it - it is for displaying info from an internal calculation not for input from user. If this is possible, what do I need to do to do it?

I have a table being imported into my VB application that has 3 columns. I have written code to import the table, and have written code to display on the first column (country) in a list view.
What I want to do now is have the user select / highlight an item in the list view, and have the third column (currency) related to that selected country appear in a text box when a button is clicked.
Here's the code I've written that successfully imports the data and displays the first column:

I have a gallery which holds a large number of thumbnail images and I want to show 6 at a time.
I have this working using the code below, but I can not get the images to display as 2 rows of 3 - it shows as 6 rows of 1.
I can get the desired result by using a datalist but that stops the pageindex function from working.
I'm sure there's an easy solution but I can't figure it out.

I have a gridview that is populating data from DirectoryInfo. However, I only want to display certain columns, and customize the column names and the hyperlink value in the row.

I am making a change to some code written in vb.net, its a winforms app. The menuitem uses the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem control. I need to display the values in that drop down menu into 2 columns. It displays a number of items and therefore is too long.I wish to display the items side but side in 2 columns. In C# you can use ToolStripMenuItem which allows you to display multiple columns. Even though ToolStripMenuItem is available in Vb.net its difficult for me in the current app to switch to that tool.

I'm making a console game that shows some data:

in that order. The thing I want to do is to make it come out in nice even columns...but I can't seem to make it do that. It comes it out in nasty uneven rows that don't look attractive...
Basically, here's what it looks like now:
1. Sword Slots: 2 Price: $40
2. W. Stick Slots: 4 Price: $1
I want to get each column to line up nicely with the other (since I control the size name).

For this case, can i actually allow my script to search if a textfile is being created, if not create a textfile ???

I created a telephone number form where the user enters the telephone number in a text box as (nnn) nnn-nnnn. The first 3 digits in parenthesis are the ISD code, the next three are the area code and the last four are the local number. I need to separate out these three fields of the phone number and display in three separate text boxes labeled appropriately. Now, suppose the user enters the phone number in a text box as a continuous string of 10 digits, where the first three represent the ISD code, the next three represent the area code and the last four represent the local number. I have a TabControl object on my form with many tabs created in code (TabPages) and my problem is that the same objects that are in the initial TabPage needs to be in the other TabPages created in code, I have this done in code when the user clicks the 'New Tab' menu option, however the same code is used for any new tabs created. The problem created here is that I have an event against one of the objects that appear in the other TabPages, but because the same code is used to create any new tab pages, the event will only work on the newest tab page, if that makes sense? By the way these objects that appear on the other TabPages are properties at the top so events can be handled against them in the respective subroutine.

I'll get straight to my problem - I'm currently coding in Visual Studio.I have a table (countries) with the columns ID | Name. The table is filled with around 28 records.I also have a form with 4 combo boxes (set up as 1,2,3 & 4) that I want the user to select. These combo boxes will display the names from the table countries. I then want to use the selected names in the combo boxes to Insert into their corresponding ID into another table. For example England would have the ID 1, USA the ID 2 etc.So, is it possible to have separate combo boxes that will give separate ID values but using the same table? At the moment I can't seem to find a solution.Eventually the form will have more than 4 combo boxes so I don't want to use separate bindingsources for each combo box.

I am trying to do is fill out a form with certain info, put the info into an array, and write it to a listbox using loops, arrays, and maybe a function if I need one.
