I have an application which simply displays a sorted datatable via a datagrid and is left open but minimized most of the time. A timer is used such that each 24 hrs I want to maximize and bring to front as a reminder as such. The problem is with code it does not recognize "form1.maximize" when it is in the tray in a minnimized state. I believe the error is "No Instance"
I'm wanting to develop what I perceive to be a pretty simple application. I want something that runs in the system tray that tests for the presence of a particular file on a network drive. If the file does not exist, the icon in the system tray is a green circle (like a traffic light). If the file DOES exist, then the system tray icon is a yellow circle (caution), until the user clicks it (the yellow system tray icon), and a record is written to another file, then the system tray icon changes to a red (stop) circle until that first file we tested for is gone.I'd also like to create "balloon messages" to go with the changes in the system tray icon.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to access my system tray context menu from a winforms opened up from one of the menu choices. The task notifier was created using a module and an applicationcontext so I could start the application without a form.
Here is m simplified code. Module Module1 Public OpenFormsHash As New Hashtable Public Sub Main()
[Code]....
When I start my form, in this case fSettings, I can't figure out how to get access back to my context menu. I'd like to modify it based on events that happen on the open form (fSettings).
my program has a tray icon and i want it to show up in the system tray. so i went into my windows notification area and set it to show icon for my app. But when my app update to a new version with clickonce, it will think its a new app and i have to set it again. Is there a way that it will treat all new version as the same program and i dont have to keep setting it?
I recently entered a VB.NET class in my school. I suddenly had an interest in it, and I decided to make something on my own. Right now, we're just working on how to switch from one form to one form [E-Z stuff, me.hide and then *formname*.show] decided to install the 2010 .NET program, and I wanted to make my own web browser. Now I'm stuck on it. e everything working, except a few minor kinks. I wanted to know how the form can be maximized once it has been opened, and, if I press the enter key, I want the URL to be what was in the text box.
Public Class frmShank rivate Sub btnBack_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnBack.Click
I have a problem on getting the event of form maximizing. How to trigger event on form maximize BEFORE the form.size changed? here are codes that trigger AFTER size changed:
Private Const WM_SIZEAs Integer = 5 Private Const SIZE_MAXIMIZED As Integer = 2 Protected Overrides Sub WndProc(ByRef mAs System.Windows.Forms.Message)
What i have done is place a webbrowser control on a form, when i maximize the form the webbrowser stays the same size it doesn't maximize with the parent form, i can't figure out how to do this
how to maximize my form window and for example my list view, tool strip container etc etc, maximize with the form window. I would just create the form to my monitor 1440x900 but this will be used on several computers all with different monitor size. What I'm looking for is a quick easy way of doing instead of setting each one up separately.
I have a toolbar that is always on the top (topmost = true) but when i maximize other programs the top of their windows is hidden behind it. I want them to maximize BENEATH my toolbar so i can close/minimize them etc... Like an upside down taskbar, literally changing the screen working area...
I have a normal form (FormBorderStyle = Sizeable). When the user maximizes the form, the form's border should disappear and fully cover the screen. Like so:
vb Private Sub frmVideo_SizeChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.SizeChanged If Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized Then 'Remove border Me.FormBorderStyle = Windows.Forms.FormBorderStyle.None 'Bring to front Me.TopMost = True End If End Sub
Problem is, when the form gets maximized and border changed to None, the form doesn't cover the whole screen. The form gets the same height as when it is maximized with a titlebar on top. So, the form is about 20 pixels too short, leaving most of the Windows taskbar uncovered. So, apparently, if the FormBorderStyle changes after the form has maximized, the change in size is not corrected. How do I change a form's size when it's maximized or how do I change the FormBorderStyle before maximization is finished?
I'm trying to make a webbrowser in VB and i have some troubles when I debug the application. When it's debugged and i maximizing the application the interior don't follow the rest of the screen, or don't expand to same size as the rest.
And just one more question while I'm here... My application doesn't fit with a screen resolution that is smaller than 1920*1080, anything you know how to fix? :s
While the application is running, I want the buttons, text boxes, datagrid, everything thats on the form to resize when the screen is maximized and again resize when its minimized.
just wondering if it is possible to add a method to all forms in my project without having to do it on one form and Inherit all my other forms from that one
I have made an application in VB.NET.The Button click codes are working fine. I have made a small modification in the code. I have commented the line 'Me.Close'But still my form gets closed. I think the application is executing from elsewhere.
I am trying to write code with multiple forms. The first screen is splash screen then is supposed to close and have a calculations screen. In the timer of the splash screen I wrote the following code
Option Explicit On Option Strict On Public Class uiHinsbrookSplashScreen
[code]....
This opens the second screen, but when I Hit Exit on the Second Screen The first screen is still open. What do I need to do next?
If I have a large number of classes, each similar to the other in certain aspects (they all share a common base class, but each does things differently), and I need to create Windows forms for each to allow easy changing of their values through a GUI? Create one matching form for each object in VS' forms designer, Or Use code to create the forms dynamically at runtime.
#2 makes the most sense to me, because a lot of these objects will share very common features of the form, notably "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. But one object might need to draw a textbox on the form while another might need to draw a combobox. Not to mention, if I want to put icons on the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons, I'd have to do this for each copy of the form in designer, and that sounds like it could get out of hand quickly. But is drawing forms through code sane? VS' forms designer is pretty sophisticated and designed to make life easier. Am I wise to consider ignoring its functionality and diving into the trench warfare of forms design through code? Or are there examples of automating form creation based on an existing object's properties?
I'm working on a project that will create new windows components. (If this is possible).I have made a button that creates new forms when clicked in the MDI container. Now I'm just wondering if someone can figure out a code to make it so when I click a button it creates a new button on the new created formI made the button create a new form. Now I want my other button to add a control (such as another button) to thatpreviously created form.
If your wondering about my code here it is: Dim count1 As Integer = 0 Private Sub NewButtonToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
I have a working form that shows the product flow in a manufacturing plant. For various reasons,I need to create another form that is a duplicate of the original, but rotated 180 degrees. All of the underlying code to fill and handle events on the two forms will be identical.I don't want to have to duplicate and manage two sets of code to handle both forms. What is the best way to handle this?
To me the answer to this question will be stupidly simple, but I cannot find it. I want to generate child forms to do simple tasks from my main form. I want to be able to create and destroy these child forms as I use the main form. I decided to create a class of the child form, with its own constructors and destructor. When I tried to do this using the Class Library Module, I could not access the Windows.Forms class to create a form.
I have created all the controls in my app in vb.net code. I have checkboxes that I want to be able to check the state in code and also check or uncheck if i need to this is my code which does not work
How can I create picture boxes using code? The application that I am making, the amount of picture boxes needed for a certain thing is not known, and is always changing (and im planing to put them into a picture box array). Also, how can I set the new picture box (assuming that its possible with code) to have the same properties/size etc as another picturebox? Is it possible for me to set a "mold" or something?
