I have a problem on getting the event of form maximizing. How to trigger event on form maximize BEFORE the form.size changed? here are codes that trigger AFTER size changed:

how to maximize my form window and for example my list view, tool strip container etc etc, maximize with the form window. I would just create the form to my monitor 1440x900 but this will be used on several computers all with different monitor size. What I'm looking for is a quick easy way of doing instead of setting each one up separately.

I want them to maximize BENEATH my toolbar so i can close/minimize them etc... Like an upside down taskbar, literally changing the screen working area...
View 2 RepliesI have a normal form (FormBorderStyle = Sizeable). When the user maximizes the form, the form's border should disappear and fully cover the screen. Like so:

Problem is, when the form gets maximized and border changed to None, the form doesn't cover the whole screen. The form gets the same height as when it is maximized with a titlebar on top. So, the form is about 20 pixels too short, leaving most of the Windows taskbar uncovered. So, apparently, if the FormBorderStyle changes after the form has maximized, the change in size is not corrected. How do I change a form's size when it's maximized or how do I change the FormBorderStyle before maximization is finished?
I am using VB.NET for Windows applications. What is the difference between Load event,Activate event and Enter event in the Form and in which order the above event is executed.

Right now, we're just working on how to switch from one form to one form [E-Z stuff, me.hide and then *formname*.show] decided to install the 2010 .NET program, and I wanted to make my own web browser. Now I'm stuck on it. e everything working, except a few minor kinks. I wanted to know how the form can be maximized once it has been opened, and, if I press the enter key, I want the URL to be what was in the text box.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to make a webbrowser in VB and i have some troubles when I debug the application.When it's debugged and i maximizing the application the interior don't follow the rest of the screen, or don't expand to same size as the rest.
And just one more question while I'm here... My application doesn't fit with a screen resolution that is smaller than 1920*1080, anything you know how to fix? :s
While the application is running, I want the buttons, text boxes, datagrid, everything thats on the form to resize when the screen is maximized and again resize when its minimized.

I just want to know if there any equivalent event (ADO. NET VS 2008) event as in MS ACCESS Form's OnCurrent Event.
The reason is I like to make some calculations based on some data bound controls with current datarow data when user clicked a row in DataGridView (or by using bindingNavigator). I've tried with DatagridView's RowEnter event. But some Data bound controls are not yet reflect the data of current datarow when that evet was fired.
In MSDN Help File: It says "RowEnter Event: Occurs when a row receives input focus but before it becomes the current row. "
How should I go about getting my mouse position over multiple controls, and such. I can't use the form_mouse move event, or any other control event nor can I use them all at the same time cause that would conflict with the actual position I need for an object.

I'm having an interesting issue that I can't reproduce on a different project, but can consistently on this one. I have no clue what might be causing it, but am hoping that someone may have seen it before.
I have a main form, from which I run a series of checks. On this form, I have a listview control. Because of some issues with the refreshing of this listview control, I had to create my own messagebox. It's just a form that displays some text ( it also happens to look nicer than MsgBox; in my opinion, anyways ). It's been working great for months, until recently.
My problem is that on my main form's load event, I run this check, which returns an error within a try/catch block. I then call my custom messagebox with a message. It in turns calls it's ShowDialog() function.
In any other situation ( after the main form has been loaded ), I have no problems. The messagebox goes on the screen and behaves appropriately ( ie: waits for my input and acts as a modal dialog ( stops execution of my main form's thread ) ). However, on this onload event, my messagebox comes up and goes away almost immediately afterwards.
I've traced it all the way to the showdialog() call. For no explicable reason, it appears to skip right over this call, without me doing anything on the form.

When a button is pressed Form B is launched that allows you to add a record to the database table. I fear that there is something obviously wrong with my code, but I have come across a situation where the Form.Load event is not firing when I create and show my form. The form is not subclassed (as I've seen some problems with that in some searches), and I am not getting any errors thrown when I step through the code in the debugger.
I have a break point set on the IDE-created form load function (which does have the Handles MyBase.Load signature suffix) but the breakpoint is never reached and the form does display and work.The form is passed three arguments in the constructor but the IntializeComponent() function is called before anything else is done.
