View 1 RepliesEach time I create a program, if I don't change the CPU type to x86 in the Project Properties, Compile, Advanced Compile options, it doesn't work. For example, if I hit the drop down button on a combo box, there will be no data, but after switching to x86, there is data. How does changing the CPU type affect how others (such as when its being graded) view the program? If the program is not run on an x86 system, would it appear to not work then?

There is some common code in the App_Code directory and a common app.config which gets build into seperate .exe.config files.One module (VScanDemonStarter) starts up and writes to one logger with its own appender going to a seperate file. It uses an process.start() to execute the other module (VScanDemon) in another command prompt hidden window.When I run VScanDemon by itself it puts entries into its log file. When I run VScanDemonStarter it puts entries into its (different) log file, the VScanDemon log file gets created, but no entries. I can see it is executing because some files get moved from one directory to another. Just no Log entries.

View 2 RepliesI have an image viewer application which consists of a Panel with a picture box on it. I want to use the arrow keys to iterate through the images in a folder. I have programed other keyboard shortcuts and all of them work except for the arrow keys, my program does not even acknowledge the KeyDown or KeyPress Event with the arrow keys. [code] As I said, all key events will fire the KeyDown with exception of the arrow keys.I have tried the Keypress event also and had the same problem

I have a problem detecting whether one of the arrow keys is pressed, all the other keys seem to be detected apart from the arrow keys??? I have set key preview to True........ It detects the arrrow keys BUT ONLY if I have NO other controls on the form??? example..

I'm currently working on a project for university, basically we were given an incomplete program to finish off with bonus points for adding addition features in.Part of the program is to move an image (a monkey) around the picture box (pen). Now to move the monkey we use 4 buttons on the form called Up, Down, Left and Right, however as we need to move the monkey around to test other parts of the program it gets annoying having to click on the button. As such I was able to get some code which allows me to move the monkey around using the arrow keys (I think you can all see the benefit of this). When I use the code in a blank form it works fine, however when I add a button onto the form the arrow keys will instead highlight the buttons.basically set up a button to disable all buttons on the form until a certain key is pressed, however I would prefer not to have to do this.

Yes I copy/pasted.I'm EXTREMELY new to VB2008 and I was basically making a program that is used for "password storage" that will be used only by me, I have made a simple login page that will not allow new usernames/passwords and a simple text box-listbox-add-delete page for submitting and displaying what I wish. What Im trying to do is make it so every time I open the listbox form, you are prompted with the login form. Im not sure of a proper term for this as I just downloaded VB2008 2 days ago.

View 1 RepliesI have an issue with my .NET application and it can only be reproduced sometimes and only on client's location, which makes it extremely difficult to resolve. In the application the forms authentication is used. There is a login page to which every anonymous user is redirected. After user enters username and password, it redirects to DefaultURL or some predefined page. The problem is that sometimes when user enters correct username and password, it doesn't login, instead it just refreshes the login page without any error messages. After several tries of inputing username and password, user is able to login to the system.

View 1 RepliesI hava a form app, that runs hidden, with just a notify icon, the goal is control worker schedule and alert them for some things they have to do.My problem is,when i open a form (with TopMost = True), it works if the user is admin of the machine or domain admin, if the user is "regular" user, the form just don't open or shown to the screen.I believe that it has got something to do with write permissions in the app folder. I have a contextmenu that works great, even restoring the hidden main form, it just doesn't show/open the other form, without any error.Shouldn't .net use the user $temp folder to write something? If not what's the best way for the app use the EnvironmentVariable("temp")?

Now the problem is, i only have the 2 standard tabs.. NOTE: This is NOT the standard Tab control found in VB.NEt 2005 ! Does anyone know how to add more tab pages
