I have a form with 6 buttons, if I select the form and hit TAB it starts at TabIndex 0.When I keep hitting TAB it goes to TabIndex 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.After another hit on TAB it should go back to 0, instead it goes to 3, 4 and than 5 again and again.

For example , i have an integer of 2 , then it matches the integer with the tabindex , then it will disable the button2 .

If I press the X button, the application closes fine(Goes from processes) If I were to open the application, and then navigate from the main form to another form using me.hide & form1.show, and press the red X on Form1, the application again, closes fine.

Once the Print Button is clicked, the form textboxes clear as intended, table data appended - ready for the next report data entry.
However, I would like to have the cursor return to the 1st textbox on the form which is assigned TabIndex number 1. (without re-loading the form)
Is there a way to set the enabled property of a combo box using the tab index?
In my program I have two combo boxes next to eachother. When a certain option is selected in the first combo box, I want the second to enable itself. Obviously this is easy to do by using combobox2.enabled = true but I have 10 rows of boxes that need to do this and I want to put all the functionality into one sub. It's possible to read the tabindex into a variable by using VAR = sender.tabindex and then add 10 to that variable (The box that needs to be enabled will always have a tab index of sender + 10) but I can't figure out how I'd use the tab index to enable it. If only I could just type sender.tabindex(+10).enabled = true
I have a calculator like program which has a function to export a string ('StringBuild') to notepad .The process start OK but it has a funny problem. When I run Process.Start it also keept running a sub that I had linked to one of the calculator buttons.I played around with the code but now it runs a hyperlink that I have on the calculator. I even tried adding an empty, hidden, button as the last item on the tabindex to see if that would work but it hasn't.

Any hunk of code that loops trough the windows form controls array, and based on top/left to bottom/right, resets the TabIndex property? I've mashed a huge form together and expect my user community to want to move things around, and I don't want to have to fool around with this over and over again.
View 6 RepliesI have an issue with my .NET application and it can only be reproduced sometimes and only on client's location, which makes it extremely difficult to resolve. In the application the forms authentication is used. There is a login page to which every anonymous user is redirected. After user enters username and password, it redirects to DefaultURL or some predefined page. The problem is that sometimes when user enters correct username and password, it doesn't login, instead it just refreshes the login page without any error messages. After several tries of inputing username and password, user is able to login to the system.

I have a form called 'Bookmarks' that loads a bookmark file that contains a single word on one line. I have put buttons on the form for sorting this list, deleting items and changing the character case to lowercase, uppercase or Sentence Case.Now, deleting and sorting the list works fine, but when I try to change character cases,nothing happens. I started the debugger and found that my case changing code does work, but the listbox doesn't seem to update it's contents.I tried listbox.Update() and listbox.Refresh() but that didn't work either.

I have a form created in VB.net. It is used to get some information form a user. The form is not bound to any data source.
A combobox on this form is used to enter a cost. I want the value entered by the user to be displayed using currency format. I have used the Format String Dialog that opens from the ellipses button on the FormatString property of the combobox and selected Currency. This put C2 into the FormatString property.
When I run my application, this format is not applied to the value entered into the combobox at the time the number is entered or when I leave the combobox.
I was looking for a solution to run a lengthy job (looking for files on the fixed drives) withouth freezing the UI, and saw that using a BackGroundWorker control is the recommended solution.
Problem is, I don't see its ProgressChange event being triggered:

In the data set designer, I have an ODBC connection to a table, with two SQL queries defined FillByCustomerName(NAME), and FillByCustomerNumber(CUSTOMER_NUMBER). If I preview the data in the designer, I see the data expected. The datagridview doesn't show any data. The functions PopulateGridByName and PopulateGridByNumber do the work. I've tried adding a dgCustomer.show statement, The form that calls the user control has no codebehind code, and throws no errors.

View 5 RepliesI have a test app driven by bluetooth serial events In my form load code I hide the cursor so it doesn't get in the way of pictures (fullscreen) When one event is called by bluetooth, it brings up a msgbox and the user has to click OK. I tried Windows.Forms.Cursor.Show() but it doesn't work.
I'm guessing it's something to do with delegates and events and the form, but the debugger doesn't complain at any point. It just refuses to show the cursor. How can I get my serialport event to show the cursor? And then hide it after?

It works, I click the little arrow, the context menu appears:I click the menu item, the event is fired, the control is docked:but the menu description is not updated or refreshed (it should show "Undock from parent container"). I am having trouble with some code I am writing to handle an Excel spreadsheet. The idea is that the dialog box is displayed which invites the user to select an Excel spreadsheet. Once they have done that, it is opened and a separate function checks to see whether Sheet1 exists returning Nothing if it is not found. The intention being the try/catch block picks it up and gracefully does nothing. The problem is that when the function returns nothing, the dialog box is still displayed and the sub doesn't seem to exit. [Code]

I'm working on a simple base form in which all the other forms in the project will inherit. This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. However suddenly around the 29th September 2010 it has stopped sending E-Mails from both Web Services and Windows Applications. The same problem has happened not only to my own Network but on two other Networks, one using XP as its Server and the other using Server 2003. All 3 of these are using different ISPs.
