I have created a form with a menu-strip containing sub-menus. The sub-menus will open on clicking the menu items but I am willing to display the sub menus on moving the cursor on menu items(mouse-hover). What will be the code for this? Is there any property in menu-strip to display like that?

View 1 RepliesWe have an application that has a main form with a map on it. Right now the paradigm is to have forms that are displayed using menu items to display information to the user. Most of these forms are modal forms, but a couple are non-modal forms that interact with the map. For some of the forms, it really would make for a better user experience if we could dock them in the main form of the app and allow the user to see both the form and the map. For instance. We could have a list of map features in a docked window, and select one of the items on the list and have the map zoom to that feature. Or do the reverse: let the users select a map item and have a docked window that shows details of the feature. Sounds great, but I wonder about what sort of gotchas we may encounter. In particular, what if we have two windows docked at the same time? Could we get tangled up in our event code?

View 4 RepliesI have a slight issue on my program. I have everything in working order except for displaying "You Win!" or "Try Again!" after all text boxes have been hovered. Currently it displays the answer on the first hover because all boxes are already populated with random numbers from an Array and it knows the answer. I want the label to display at the end of the game on the last hover event.

1) What's the difference in mouse hover and mouse enter event in regard of vb.net?

However the problem is that I am having problems displaying the form at my cursor position. I have a mdi chaild form in my app and when I right click I want to display my custom contextmenu form at the point where I right click in the mdichild form. View 20 RepliesI have a form that is a mdi parent. In this form I have a menustrip the allow merge is set to true. I then have another form which is a child form. In this form I have a menustrip, I have the first menuitem merge action set to MatchOnly, then the rest of the menu items merge action are all set to insert. I then have a context menu in the child form, where which has the same menu items as the menustrip.
When i run the app, and show the child form, the menu items get added to the parents menu just how I expected. but the context menu does not display in the child form.

I am using VB net 2005.I am also using the ActiveX Control DSOFramer.ocx supplied by Microsoft (url...).I would like to either not show or disable the right-click menus (context menus I think they may be called).If that is not possible, is it possible to replace the menu with my own, maybe just one choice like "Exit"?If that is not possible, can I somehow disable the right-click on the mouse when over this control?I am using the control to view PowerPoint and Excel documents.View only, I've removed Menu and Tool bars.Now just to disable the right-click menus.

I have a DGV that has a hidden column with some text in it. I would like to be able to mouse over any particular row and display the text from that column's field in a tooltip. I thought maybe I could do it in the DGV's MouseHover event, but I did not know how to detect which row the mouse was over. Once I do this, I did not see a .Text property for the tooltip, so how do I set the tooltip's content to be the text from the column field?

For some reason I have to click on the form to get it to pause the first time and then after that it does pause when I place the mouse over the form. It is that first time that it won't pause. The Public Subs I hand typed the codes in, is there some way that I should have added the mousehover to the form itself or are there other reasons that it won't work the first time?
I would like to add a hover text when i have my mouse in fronnt of the image , not from the properties because i want to add some code on it .. it could be like 150x40 or more or less in size .. i would like to make the hover label in code and not visually because i want to add hovers in many pictures.
