View 1 Replieswant my application to trigger audio files when the user clicks a word/sentence in a label, and show a tooltip on mouse hover. I use VB. I tried using TTS (SAPI 3.5), but can not know which language the user's operating system will have. Also, I was advise to use pre-recorded sound wav or mp3. I created the audio files, but am not able to link/connect/call.
View 1 RepliesI need to play a sound file: Soundsopen_creaky_door.wav"
However the code only works if I specify the EXACT location:
My.Computer.Audio.Play("c:soundsopen_creaky_door .wav")
Is there a way I can set the relative path to something like this?
My.Computer.Audio.Play("soundsopen_creaky_door.w av")
How to play an audio file automatically when form loads?
View 5 RepliesI have created a form with a menu-strip containing sub-menus. The sub-menus will open on clicking the menu items but I am willing to display the sub menus on moving the cursor on menu items(mouse-hover). What will be the code for this? Is there any property in menu-strip to display like that?
View 1 Replieshow to raise the mouse leave and mouse hover events for VB when i place my mouse cursor over the button.
When my mouse cursor is over the buttons, it will raise the mouse hover event and open the form, then when the mouse leaves the button, it will close the form upon raising the mouse leave event.
but currently, When i excute this two events, the for will open and close very,very fast. so fast that it is like spamming the VB.
So i am wondering how to change the code that i have to excecute the event one time every time the mouse is over the button which is created at run time.
the codes to execute these two events are:
Private Sub Button_MouseLeave(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
For Each ctl As Control In PictureBox1.Controls
[Code].....
[URL] I have tried heslacher's method which is Hi clzanas, you problems had been the result of calling a for each loop inside the events. If you only want for the button you hoover / leave to call the ShowDetails.Open/close, then you can take the code below:
Private Sub Button_MouseLeave(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
If TypeOf sender Is Button Then
ShowDetails.Close()
[code]....
But i got the same results as my previous code, resulting in the form opening and closing so fast that it is like spamming the window.
I have two questions in my mind!
1) What's the difference in mouse hover and mouse enter event in regard of vb.net?
2) Is embedding a resource in application more efficient or linking it on compile time?
how can i play the audio after the previous audio play is finish by using directx.
assume i have audio1.wav and audio2.wav.
i play audio1.wav by this code.
audio1 = audio.fromfile("D:audio1.wav", false)
how can i play audio2.wav after audio1.wav is finish? without use any button or signal. just depends on when the audio1.wav is finish, then audio2.wav will play automatically.
I am using Vb.NET to build a windows application. In menu-strips by default the submenus will appear on clicking on the menu items. I am willing to display the submenu items by hovering the cursor on menu items. What is the procedure to do that?
View 1 RepliesI have an existing menu structure created at design time. During runtime, I want to add a submenu to one of the already existing menu items created at design time.How do i add a dropdownitem at runtime to an already existing menu item? How do I refer to that existing menu item?All positings I found so far either create a main menu item and directly create the submenus. Apparently, the reference to the main menu item was somehow established.

I'm trying to create balloon tips (NOT SYSTEM TRAY) to pop up when mouse hovering over a button.

I have a DGV that has a hidden column with some text in it. I would like to be able to mouse over any particular row and display the text from that column's field in a tooltip. I thought maybe I could do it in the DGV's MouseHover event, but I did not know how to detect which row the mouse was over. Once I do this, I did not see a .Text property for the tooltip, so how do I set the tooltip's content to be the text from the column field?

View 2 RepliesI have a program trying to use mousehover to pause the autoscroll. It is a widows form called:
lstOutput System.Windows.Forms.1 Below is how it is in my code.
Public Sub lstOutput_MouseHover(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lstOutput.MouseHover
'Public EventMouseHover As EventHandler
lblPauseScroll.Text = "Output Paused" 'display output paused
'Highlight the DataGridView
Me.lstOutput.BackColor = Color.LightGray
[Code] .....
For some reason I have to click on the form to get it to pause the first time and then after that it does pause when I place the mouse over the form. It is that first time that it won't pause. The Public Subs I hand typed the codes in, is there some way that I should have added the mousehover to the form itself or are there other reasons that it won't work the first time?
I have put some wav audio on the resources. in my form, i have a label. i named the label as s1f1 and s1f2. now i want to play the audio according to the label click. if it is click then the audio play. i dont to put a line of code in every label. assuming that there is a lot of label, then it will be a waste of time. so how can i play the audio, by only write a several line code but for all of the labels.

View 17 RepliesI have a webbrowser control (in fact, a control inheriting from webbrowser), and added a tooltip control to the main form. Then, I filled the webbrowser tooltip text.But the tooltip never shows. (because the web browsers manage mouse hover with html?)I examined all the events exposed on the webbrowser control, and there is not one about mouse hover.so, the question is: How do I show the tooltip? Should investigate HTML, or there is a .NET control way?

I am using buttons on my vb.net forms. I want a way in which if I drag my mouse onto a particular button it would increase its size and if I click onto it, it can respond to the codes. May be like I want it too look like those Macintosh laptop icons, whereby if u put my mouse on it, it increases its size.
View 5 RepliesI've found an example of what I'm trying to do. The form will have 2 picture boxes. The first will be the original image. The second will have the zoomed image. Once I move my mouse over the first image, it must display a zoomed image in picturebox 2. I've attached the code that I found (written in C#) of what I'm trying to do. I've converted the code for me to VB. I want my first picturebox to be smaller than my second one. And the attached example shows that the first picturebox is bigger than the second one. I've never tried something like this, or drawing images etc. Just resize the 1st picturebox to be smaller that the second one, move with your mouse over the first one, and will see what I mean. I don't want to click on the image to have it zoomed or use the mouse wheel. Just want to hover over the image and display the zoomed version..
