Forms :: Number Of UserControls Added To A TableLayout?
Feb 8, 2010
I had a number of userControls added to a tableLayout, what I want to do is dispose of all userControls however if I use the following code it only seems to dispose of the first userControl and not the rest:
For Each myControl As userDisplaySet In Me.tableDisplaySet.Controls
' Closes control
myControl.Dispose()
Next
I am doing a bar cash register and I want to use a if statement to see if fosters button and number 1 on the number pad are both pressed then multiply constant by quantity number
Well, I've been working on a problem for like 2 days, finally figured out how to do itproblem is, it loads SUPER slow and makes the TableLayoutPanel look all glitchy... Wondering why and if theres any way to make it instant
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
I found this but to no avail:[URL]..I have generic fields and labels that I put inside already predefined table layouts. Some fields need to span rows/columns and I can't figure out how to do it within code (aka not in the designer).
I got the problem on updating the resit number after added the new data.. for the next time i go to the same form, the resit number would not increase automatically but maintain with the same number.. except if i debug my system again, the number will increase..
I have 2 project (A and B). A is the main, B its child.I added the B referencie in A to use its forms. When i run B, there is no error. When i run A, i can launch B, but in B all my Controls are Nothing
For example : B.frmMain.btnTest.Text is Nothing in B.DialogBoxTest when B is used in a referency, otherwise different of Nothing.I use Visual Basic 2008.
I am using Visual Studio 2005 (Visual Basic) and MS Access 2003 I am trying to build an application in the lines of the book "Doing Objects in Visual Basic 2005" by Deborah Kurata. So, I have a Data Access Layer (DAL) Class Library that is separated from the business logic layer (business objects) Class Library. I try to add a new business object such as a "Customer" to the Access Database, where the "Customer" table has a PrimaryKey "CustomerID" which is an AutoNumber field. I am successful in writing the values to the database, but I can't figure out how to know the "CustomerID" of a newly added "Customer" so I can populate the business object with the respective values.
I'm just starting out using vb.net and i am writing my first application. I have added some comboboxes at runtime to my form using the code below.[code]Now my question is now that i have these controls added to the form, how can i iterate through them all and collect the values for sql injection. I have given each combobox a specific name when it was created such as Ball1, Ball2, Ball3.[code]
I have created a datagrid of my own in vb dotnet and converted to dll. I add this dll to a project.i have 2 forms and i have added this control on 2 forms. When i run the project and open 2 forms simentaneously an error " reference not set to an instance of an object" occurs on acess of any property of that control.
My background is mostly Access VBA and I am having to learn VB.NET. I am trying to recreate an Access 2007 application I wrote into VB.Net. We are looking at using a hosted SQL Server so we do not have to worry about remote offices or replication. I am using VS 2008 and SS2008.My issue is that I need to create a login form in VB that with look at SQL Server DB and return a dataset record matching the username and password. There are many tutorials on here but do not match what I am looking for.I have a stored procedure with 2 parameters (@prmUser and @prmPassword) named spLogin.I need to call the sp and pass the parameters to SQL Server DB and return the complete row of data that is matched from the button_click event on my form.
In Access, I would have a form that would have the returned data and I would reference that information throughout the application by using the 'forms!frmName!txtValue' to populate forms, reports, and fields that would capture the user that created the record. What is the best practice for this?Next when the login credentials are correct then I need another form to open, which is my MDI form, if not correct then msgbox to try again.
I have been working on a project which is used by a company's sale team, to combine all the wanted input data in one place allowing the sales team to show customers, where switching to them could save them money.
Basically what i want is a program which can save single records, which can hold data added in other text boxes, or indeed take the data from the list view boxes which is the intended output. I want to be able to save that data, then be able to Open it up again at a later date, and even modify it.
enabled me to save the three ways to identify a single record, the index number, company name and the date it was added. However I now need a way to save the data entered in my other forms to these single records.
I've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
I have a program that adds controls on the fly to an auto-scroll panel. When the panel is scrolled (viewing the bottom of the panel for example) and a control is added, it looks like it is added assuming the top left corner of the panel is still at 0,0 when in fact it may be 0,500. To see what I am talking about, create an empty "Windows Forms Application" project and insert the below code into it.
Friend WithEvents Panel1 As System.Windows.Forms.Panel Friend WithEvents btnAdd As System.Windows.Forms.Button Dim ButtonCount As Integer
i have multiple forms in a project and all have statusbar. there is no way to add textbox on status bar but in my previous thread i got the help to add the text box. i created a function in module so that i call that function from all the forms on load and add the textbox on status bar and also add the event on textchange. the function to be called on event change is in individual form (at present)[code]
If I have a large number of classes, each similar to the other in certain aspects (they all share a common base class, but each does things differently), and I need to create Windows forms for each to allow easy changing of their values through a GUI? Create one matching form for each object in VS' forms designer, Or Use code to create the forms dynamically at runtime.
#2 makes the most sense to me, because a lot of these objects will share very common features of the form, notably "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. But one object might need to draw a textbox on the form while another might need to draw a combobox. Not to mention, if I want to put icons on the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons, I'd have to do this for each copy of the form in designer, and that sounds like it could get out of hand quickly. But is drawing forms through code sane? VS' forms designer is pretty sophisticated and designed to make life easier. Am I wise to consider ignoring its functionality and diving into the trench warfare of forms design through code? Or are there examples of automating form creation based on an existing object's properties?
I'm not sure if this is a bad way of building an application but let's say I have 30 WPF Windows for different screens in my application. I want to build them into a DLL so I was wondering if it is bad design to instead of creating each window as a window, if i can have 1 window that hosts whichever screen is open. So the windows will actually be a usercontrol, or at least act like one. So when you want to go to a different screen, you would just change the content of the 1 window to the content of the "usercontrol" that you want displayed.
I am trying to troubleshoot a VB.NET project that contains UserControls (actually, several of them that are displaying the same issues). I am trying to get them to build under x64, but it is impossible. In x86 or AnyCPU, the UserControl builds and shows up in the Toolbox, so I can add or modify it in the forms that require it. In x64, the controls disappear from the Toolbox, I get warnings during build (the current project builds though), I can't see any of the forms - I get errors (please see below) - and projects that require the project with the form as an import will not build.
When I was studying what these UserControls are so that I can maybe rebuild them from scratch, I downloaded code from a book - great learning tool, but I get the same errors[code]...
I'm using Visual Basic in Visual Studio 10 Beta 2.
I did make a library with UserControls In VS2010 and I did a build. After that I want to use my UserControls from the library in a new project in VS2010.
How do I get the UserControls in the ToolBox when I'm desiging? I tried some import statements, but without result.
[Code]...
I also set a reference to the dll file of the library, but still I don't the UserControl in the TooBox.
I am working on a project and there are about 30 controls that I need to call and update at runtime. I have named the controls day0 - day35 (it is a calendar). Basically, at runtime, I need to call each control's setDate function to display the day number. When I run it, the array just has null/empty.This is the array I am trying to use in the code behind. The controls are names day0-day35.
I created an item user_control that has a textbox, button, etc. which will intentionally collect the total quantity of items the user wants.
I dynamically create a few intances of user_control on page_load. If you click the add button for the item quantity it will add to a session variable. however when the user enters a different quantity in the textbox and clicks the add button the total is of the original value of the textbox.
How to get the value the the user has typed in to the textbox to add to total???
I've create a stripped down example below: [UserControl] [Page] [CodeBehind]
UserControl... <%@ Control Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="BomItem.ascx.vb" Inherits="DynamicUserControl.BomItem" %> <style type="text/css">
When we create an inherited control then is the Designer still needed or not? Should usercontrols be disposable? What is the difference of using Base and Me when we are setting default properties of our usercontrols?[code]
i have no time for design a database and all these things ,i have only one table and i have to fill the answers , i have to finish it within two days.the problem is I have more than 50 questions and i divided them into 3 groups , i putted each question group in User Control, and i am trying to save the values from each user control.
i have never used a UserControl in the following manner:In need to make a UserControll that can be put in a list of them depending on how many the user chooses and then if there are more than 4 to have a Vscrollbar to scroll through them.
i've been trying to use customcontrols made in vb.net 2008 but when i try to add them to a vba form using
Dim x as new MyCustomControl.Usercontrol Me.Controls.Add(x)
it returns "activex can't create object" The control itself has nothing special, it's just random textboxes and a few buttons. why i can't use the control?
I am having difficulties initiating the 2 usercontrol. The first one works perfect but am not quite sure how to get the second one to initiate.
Code for Custom Tabpage Class
Public Class TabPageEx Inherits System.Windows.Forms.TabPage Private WithEvents uc As New UserControl1
[Code].....
Now, I am struggle on how to inititiate the second usercontrol still using the TabPageEx Class. Do I need to make another seperate Class Such as TabpageEx2 too handle usercontrol2? The usercontrol2 needs to happen on form load so that the tab is always present.
Where can I get more information on how to work with usercontrols in vs2010 (VB.NET) I have been programming using mainly form level applications. I have a project I want to convert from windows forms to usercontrols.
I'm having a bit of trouble with creating one of my custom controls. What I've got is a listbox within a usercontrol, and I need to be able to click on the lists items while still in the designer. This would make it act much like the tabcontrol.
'decleare variables Dim vmcount As Integer Dim tabcount As Integer[code].....
The trouble I'm having is working out a way to be able to call the objects in the dynamically created usercontrols. I thought a list maybe an option but I am struggling to get the syntax/get it working. Wondering if anyone has some ideas or different approaches..
