I'm trying to setup a form to search for data within an existing DataTable.
FilterColumnsComboBox.DataSource = WOTable.Columns?
FilterColumnsComboBox.DisplayMember = ???
FilterColumnsComboBox.ValueMember = ???

I could hard-code in the column names ("WO_Number",WO_CustID","CustLastName", etc...), but would prefer to pick this up dynamically (partly because I want to reuse this code later).

I am using code similar to this to populate a combobox with items from a database. The display works fine, but when I try to get the combobox.SelectedValue it is returning a DataRowView, where I need an integer. Obviously this is becuase I haven't casted the value to an integer, but the function, CInt(cboPosition.SelectedValue) is throwing an InvalidCastException. Is there any way that I can get the ValueMember's type to be an Integer?

How can I get an item value from a Combobox using a datatable as it's datasource? Here's my code for constructing the combobox. This code works, that's why I'm not showing it all, but I want you to know how I'm creating the combobox.

I need to limit the amount of columns being returned from a datatable from 14 to 5 or 6. Date, Hour and 3 to 4 decimal columns. Is it possible to do something like a SQL 'Like' to specify which columns I want?

I have a custom collection which is derived from a base class implementing IEnumerable and IEnumerator, this collection is populated with custom objects.I'm trying to set the datasource on a ComboBox on a WinForm to use the above collection - but when the code is run the ComboBox is always empty.

I have a datagridview bound to a datatable setting its datasource property to the datatable. I would like to have a child form that contains a list of columns associated with the datatable that contains a checkbox that will allow the user to hide and show the columns ( I do not know the best control to use here) (I assume this is the easy part as All i need to do is loop through each of the datatable's columns to get the column name)
now I would like save these visible columns on some event like form_closing so that the next time the user opens the form up it will remember the settings

I have a DataGridView which populates from an SQL query just fine in default mode
using these table names

I have edited the column headers and set the column names to the same values as my table names yet the data is not showing in form load I have set datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False I know the data is there if I delete datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False then the data is shown with the default headings?

I'm using vs2008 with vb.net, and I have googled all around for a multi column combobox and I know there is not an easy way to do it in .net. However, this is my situation:I have a table in my database that only has around 4 or 5 entries, with the columns FirstName, LastName, Type. I need all of these columns for each of the 4 or 5 entries to be displayed in the combobox. I've been trying to think of simple ways to do it such as counting all the rows, selecting each cell in a loop and programmatically assigning them to the comboboxes, but I realized that the ID column for these entries have numbers that do not go chronologically. (I thought that if I counted the rows, the row number would correspond to the ID number and I could go about looping and assigning variables/concatenating them into the combobox, but this is not the case).
So I am just looking to see if anyone else has any ideas on what I can do to solve this? It's a pretty simple problem but I'm kinda out of any simple ideas.

Can you tell me how to syncronise the a DataSource when inserting a new row into a DataTable? I want to know how to perform row delete to datatable which is a datasource to the grid.
In details: I have a datagridview (dg) and its datasource is set to dtItem. User will select some rows in dg and press 'delete' button.
dg.DataSource = dtItem;
I will perform a loop and delete the records. Here is the code eg:
foreach (DataGridViewRow drw in dg.Rows)

The problem is it didn't delete correctly. If user selects row index 0 and 1 in dg and delete it, it will delete the first one correctly and then finished cuz no more row is selected in next gridviewrow.
I tried google and didn't find what I want. may be because i don't know the correct keywords I should use to search.

I list folders in my combobox but I'm trying to sort the folders alphabetically and then numerically or vice versa.
My coding to populate my combobox is
