I need to drag and drop to textbox from tree view. Here while drag and drop to text box i need to add the dragged text to anywhere in the text box which we have already dragged some nodes here.
For example.in treeview i have "node1" and "node2"now i am going to add "node2" to textbox and in front of "node2" i need to add "node1" and then at the end of "node2" again i need to drop "node1" like that.
i have a treeview filled with directory structure, now want to drag some file name from treeview and drop it to GridView.
i tried with the Item_Drag event it works for drag only...but GridView's DropOver event doesn't work what can do ?

I have looked through the internet but I am having difficulty sorting through all the information available (I see a lot of information for Visual Basic 5 and 6, and those codes don't work for me in visual studio 2008). I can email anyone my code I have so far.

I'm trying to find a drag and drop cursor for use in a program. It is not in the standard Windows cursors. It's the one you see when moving a control in Visual Studio or when reordering slides in powerpoint - arrow with rectangle below.

View 4 RepliesWorking on a DragDrop application. I have a class object (built as an object) which has a GroupBox that is enabled for DragDrop.
In the class I have set it up so that the cursor will change when it enters the groupbox, leaves the groupbox, mouse is down within the groupbox and drag/drop is working. I also set up a label in the class object and changed the text in that label as well. Basically, the text changes in the label as expected including 'FEEDBACK' appearing when I am dragging the object BUT the cursor stays stubbornly as a pointer. This is tghe state of affairs either when I debug the class or when, after I build the class, it is run as part of the main program.
Here are the subs set up in the class.

What I mean by high quality is: Rather than the regular arrow with a rectangle. I tried using e.Effect but that didn't do anything... Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just how it is in WPF.

Each free seat is coloured in green and occupied seats are in blue.DataGridView is populated with names from database and user could add a name to a seat choosing from a list.Moreover the user has the possibility to move a name from one seat to another - not occupied via drag and drop operation.Eveything works well, but when moving a name from one cell to another I have to position the cursor over a cell that is one row above and four columns on the left of that one I choose.Which is the reason? Is it possible for example to give each graphic path an identity when drawn, then select any one (via mousedown, whatever) and link it to the dragged mouse co-ordinates until released? The background: I implemented drag'n'drop from a dgv to a label and need to identify the control where the mouse button is released. I have enabled dropping on the label where the drop is going to take place. However, this label is the parent of say a hundred labels that are created dynamically in codebehind (I use this way to create a "dataview"). Therefore, I need to know which of these "child" labels the user drops the data onto.
I can get the mouseposition without problems (Me.PointToClient(Cursor.Position).ToString), but as I said, I can't get the name/text/ID of the control the user dropped the data on. Also, I ned to get the child control's name/ID/Text, not the parent label of course.In addition, it seems as if I can't select the row I click on in the dgv anymore, after I implemented the DoDragDrop on the CellMouseDown event. Any ideas? Should I use another event?

However the problem is that I am having problems displaying the form at my cursor position. I have a mdi chaild form in my app and when I right click I want to display my custom contextmenu form at the point where I right click in the mdichild form. The only other thing is that I want the middle of the form to be displayed at the cursor point.

View 1 RepliesI have two list boxes. A users selects a value from each, clicks a button and the application creates a relationship between the two selected items by saving them in an array and displaying the relationship in a third list box.
What I want to allow is for users to be able to drag a value from one list box and drop it on top of another value. I have the code to capture the value of the item dragged but I don't see how to capture the item that the data is dropped onto.
Is there a way to capture the targeted selected item?
the program is that user add numbers in textbox through number buttons (its a calculatornow i have to add 2 more buttons. one <- and other -> and when press one of them the cursor moves in the text box left and right.i tried few things but none works. i have tired to insert "|" first and then try to move it but it either keep on adding or deleting the text.here is what i have tried so far . its not the whole code as i keep on adding and removing.
