VS 2008 User Input From A Text Box Into Code?
Apr 14, 2010How do I get numbers typed into a text box to be feed into my code and then the code to be ran?Below is the code that I want the information from a text box to be fed into. With the (0, 50) being the numbers.I will have a form set up like this, A button labeled Generate. 3 Text boxes total, 2 of them side by side with one being low and one high. For example The user will input 5 in the low box at 100 in the high box. Hitting generate the numbers will then be inserted into code and the result being shown in the 3rd text box.
Now what is the code that I'm looking for that will help me take information from TextBox1 and TextBox2 and insert into the (XXXX, XXXX) field in my buttons code?
Convert User Input Text Into Vb.net Executeable Code?
Mar 13, 2010I know there are work-arounds like using a Select Case, but in my situation, it would make things a lot easier... especially since I won't know exactly what will be entered. I can't force the user to use a combobox or anything like that either, because it is going to be unique code for every situation. If there is no way of doing this, I will figure something else out, but it will require a lot more work.

In Visual Studio 2008, Visual Basic.My script always begins with:function Init (Quest)Then from here a user would input a quest name, type and zone in a interface using windows forms.[code]I would also like to have these available on the UI but wont generate unless a user checks a box to add them or there is a box already for them but wont step into the code unless the user enters something into the box.Is there anyone that can explain how I would go about doing this. Or maybe some kind of visual studio plugin that will help me out.

I got the whole "check if the user has input information correctly down pat how ever Its this whole, connecting to a database (sdf) if in another vb file ands calling that method into aspx file and proessing forum input to say "take this, insert into bla..." I come from java, JSP and J2ee bak ground where its not that diffrent and I dont have all week to read books and take baby steps. I have until tuseday morning to finsih this. Right now I am as far as forum validation....

Mar 30, 2009How to generate code from user input. In Visual Studio 2008, Visual Basic. My script always begins with:

This part a user would enter in his interface what would an NPC say if accepted.

What I need is a few text boxs that a user can input "Kill Zombies" or whatever they like and when they push a generate button it will create a file with a .quest extension. All of the code remains the same except for the quotes that would be the user input from the interface. Basically everything in quotes can be changed by the user in an interface. I have created my own functions for when a user accepts, deny and complete a quest. The user just needs to input what should happen then click a generate button to throw it all together as a .quest file to be saved in his or her quest folder for the server to call on later.
I also have many other functions like:
AddQuestRewardFaction --- (Quest, Faction ID, Amount)
AddQuestRewardCoin --- (Quest, Copper, Silver, Gold, Plat)
AddQuestStepObtainItem --- (Quest, Step ID, Description, Quantity, Percentage, TaskGroupText, Item ID(s))
Etc

This listbox has an access database bound to it with 2 columns Size and Area, the Size equals the Area and I set the Value to the Area column but set the Size to show up in the list box. and the Strands textbox has to muliply by the Size picked, but by the Area # not the Size #. And the results of that multiplication showing up in another textbox named total.

I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:

I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

Feb 16, 2009I'm trying to code an 'increase' button to prompt a user to input a rate by which to increase select prices in an array.It should request the increased rate, then request a number from one to five, representing which price in the array to increase.Then, if 'increase' button is selected again and another number from one to five is chosen, then that element should be increased.It's working, but all the numbers in the array are changed. And, when I hit the increase button again, the array is repopulated below the first price increases instead of only replacing the designated price.

I cannot figure out how to incorporate the number of days into the input box then get it to loop and count the number of times the User inputs in the number of days. Then I have to incorporate it into the equation to get the total distance D = MPH * Hours. What I have right now wil not count up the number of days and locks up after I input one number and will not add anything to the listbox. Because I also have to make sure that they cant add nonnumaric values and the number of hours per day cannot exceed 20. Excel - Code In VBA And Recording A Macro - Input A Values For The X Axis Rotation And The Y Axis Rotation
Sep 16, 2009I am having some major problems with the code in VBA and recording a macro didn't get me anywhere nor is the VBA help file. I have to have it so that I can input a values for the x axis rotation and the y axis rotation so that my 3d surface graph will rotate whatever values I input, the 3d surface graph will rotate those degrees. I also have to have a method for having the default rotation. I was also wondering how to put scroll bars for the x and y rotation. The only other thing I am having trouble with is having an input to check box for right angle axes. So far I have two cells for entering the x rotation value and the y rotation value. I also already have my 3d surface graph.

All I get is just the last input entered to show up in the message box and none of the previous entries. How do I get all the input to be added together and show up in the message box?
