Adding To Listview Inside Tab Control Without Knowing The Name
Sep 23, 2011I have a tab control, that the user can add/remove tabs as they please. It is an inventory manager, and the tabs are the departments. Everytime a user adds a department, a new listview is cloned and added to the page. Upon form load, i need it to go through the tab pages, and query the database for items matching the department their in. In other words, if the Department column in the inventory database, matches the Tab Pages text, add it to the listview inside that particular page. I've tried several things, but they all end up buggy. Either it adds them all to the first listview, or it skips every other page, or worse - doesn't add anything at all. Here is the code I have, could anyone help me figure out how to:
Cycle through the pages, if any of the DB's rows Department column matches the tab page text, add it to the listview inside that tab page, then move to the next tab page, and cycle through the DB again. Here is my code, a decent start I believe.

Apr 30, 2012I am making an invoicing application. I have a label (lblCost) inside of a UserControl (InvoiceEntry) inside of a FlowLayoutPanel (pnlEntries). InvoiceEntry represents a line item on the invoice, and pnlEntries is the "body" of the invoice. pnlEntries can hold several InvoiceEntry controls.
I am attempting to sum all of the lblCost values from each InvoiceEntry control to make a subtotal, and I want that subtotal to change automatically if costs are changed (e.g., a change in quantities being ordered). Is there a way to handle when the lblCost.Text property of any of the InvoiceEntry controls contained within pnlEntries changes?

Asp.net - Adding To Page Control Collection From Inside A User Control?
Feb 12, 2011I have an asp.net usercontrol which represents a "popup" dialog. Basically, it's a wrapper for the jQuery UI dialog which can be subclassed to easily make dialogs. As part of this control, I need to inject a div into the page the control is used on, either at the very top or very bottom of the form so that when the popup is instantiated, it's parent is changed to this div. This allows "nested" popups without the child popup being trapped inside the parent popup.
The trouble is, I can't find a safe way to inject this div into the page. A usercontrol doesn't have a preinit event, so I can't do it there, and calling Page.Form.Controls.Add(...) in Init, Load or PreRender causes the standard exception "The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases."
I thought I had found a solution by using. ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, Me.GetType, UniqueID + "_Dialog_Div", containerDiv, False) which seemed to work well normally, but recently a coworker tried putting an UpdatePanel inside the dialog and now she's getting the error "The script tag registered for type 'ASP.controls_order_viewzips_ascx' and key 'ctl00$ContentBody$OViewZips_Dialog_Div' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . Only properly formatted script tags can be registered."
How are you supposed to add controls to the pages control collection from inside a user control?
Listview In Child Form - Listview Will Not Access With My Add Button Control In FrmCreateUserType
Jul 29, 2010I have 3 forms, one frmMain - main form, second is frmUserType- childform, and the last frmCreateUserType. In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

Oct 27, 2011I have a DataList (Question) inside the ListView (Section). ListiView is to hold the sections. DataList holds the questions of a section. Let's say I have 3 sections, each section has 2 questions.

But it does not get anything back, question always gets nohting. I think it's because there are 3 DataList inside the ListView now, due to 3 sections, and it cannot find DataList dlQuestion anymore. How do I access these DataLists of ListView from the code behind? I need to loop through each control of the DataList .
ListView Rowheight Varies - Using ListView Control, With SmallIcons Style ?
Mar 15, 2012I'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?

I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.

Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.

C# - WebBrowser Control Inside IE
Oct 24, 2011I have a .NET ActiveX/COM Object which has a WebBrowser control (among other controls such has buttons, etc) inside it.
This object seems to load fine, the buttons are displayed and working but, for some reason, the WebBrowser control doesn't show up!
Is there some limitation for this in IE (e.g., is IE afraid of something recursive, etc.)? Is there a way that I can overcome it?

Aug 7, 2011I'm using the VS 2010-Net 4.I have develop an usercontrol that is compiled on one DLL and when I reference this DLL in other applications the usercontrol doesn't look like it was desined. It looks all wrong.
In the same project of the usercontrol if I put the control inside of a form there looks the way it supose to but in other projects as reference doesn't.
