Feb 9, 2011I'm making a game for a school project We've created a character that moves around the screen and creates blocks behind him as he moves around.We want to make it so that when the character moves from one edge of the screen to another, it fills the screen. So in order to do this we have a Points array that stores every point the character touches on his way to a wall.We then fill the Points array with "formsurface.fillPolygon(Points)"Now I'm wondering is there anyway we can retrieve all the points that are WITHIN or INSIDE the Points array we made? ( remember the points array simply contains the outline or the path the character created, we're filling inside that outline)

Searching And Finding Strings Inside A 2-Dimensional Array?
Nov 14, 2011I am working on arrays and I am currently having trouble with searching and finding arrays. In this example, the user should be able to enter a Name, and it will output that person's stats.
Here is the text file (note, I should be able to go to this text file, add a few more names and the code should still work, which is why I am using loops,arrays,text files instead of if and else statements),
Kobe,29,6,4
Allen Iverson,28,7,4
Jason Kidd,12,10,9
So if the user enters Jason Kidd in the text box, this will display in another text box:
Jason Kidd averaged 12 points, 10 assist, and 9 rebounds.

All right now is the searching part. I really do know how to search for what the user entered and display the statement in a text box. I kind of have an idea of how to just get the name, but for it to get the name and then all the data for that name puzzles me even more.-I tried using .contain, indexof and few others.
I know to display the information in the text box will be something like:
textboxoutput.text = PlayerName & " averaged " & PlayerPoints & " points, " & PlayerAssist &" assist, and " PlayerRebounds " &" rebounds"
So basically, I want it to where the user can enter a basketball players name and display the values for that name.

ListView - Finding The User Dragging Left Or Right End?
Aug 2, 2010When the user drags to left, I have to add the item to previous row. When the user drags to right, I have to add the item to nect row.
The below code is not working as expected. each row has 5 items. When the user drags to right in the first row, It is giving the TargetIndex as 5. It is giving the same value for targetindex, when the user drags the item in 2nd row to left end.

Oct 27, 2011I have a DataList (Question) inside the ListView (Section). ListiView is to hold the sections. DataList holds the questions of a section. Let's say I have 3 sections, each section has 2 questions.

Sep 23, 2011I have a tab control, that the user can add/remove tabs as they please. It is an inventory manager, and the tabs are the departments. Everytime a user adds a department, a new listview is cloned and added to the page. Upon form load, i need it to go through the tab pages, and query the database for items matching the department their in. In other words, if the Department column in the inventory database, matches the Tab Pages text, add it to the listview inside that particular page. I've tried several things, but they all end up buggy. Either it adds them all to the first listview, or it skips every other page, or worse - doesn't add anything at all. Here is the code I have, could anyone help me figure out how to:
Cycle through the pages, if any of the DB's rows Department column matches the tab page text, add it to the listview inside that tab page, then move to the next tab page, and cycle through the DB again. Here is my code, a decent start I believe.
