I am having problems trying to get a rowcommand event to fire in a gridview. The code is below.

I've spent quite a while searching this problem, there are some other similar threads online but none have helped me fix it.I have a GridView with an ImageButton within it, the imagebutton has an OnClick function but that event is never reached when it is clicked, below is my gridview:

i have a button in gridview whose command name is "hold" i want when i click n hold button of first row then the whole row values will be transfererd to default2.aspx ...
and if i click the hold button of gridview second row then the second row value will be transferred to Default2.aspx ,,how to do that ?
i m using that ...but it always transfer the 1st row value even i select first last or middle row ..in gridview ....
I have a GridView with ItemTemplate. I am trying to approve and reject booking using ImageButton but I do not know where and how to put the sql command to update booking status.I need hints to continue my coding.

This, however always returns me something like -99999.. I poked around and tried this other solution using the sender from the event:

Even though this worked this time (because the event was triggered by the view itself and i had access to the sender) this doesn't solve my problem as there are other events where the sender is not the view and the problem persists.Usign Me.grvObsAM_Artigos."insert anything here" doesn't seem to work properly.
I'm trying to convert an empty string to null when editing a table in my gridveiw. I've tried several iterations and methods with no success. I'm suspecting that the issues is in my ObjectDataSource but don't know the correct syntax I need.

I have a piece of code that takes two strings, puts them together, then attempts to save that result into a table in a database. For some reason, the database is only showing the second half of the string ( Me.txtRev.text in this case). When in debug, I can see that newRev is actually correct, with the hyphenated string.

I have been making a text based noughts and crosses game and trying to convert an alpha grid reference into a number to run the logic sequence that decides whether the an input is valid. why the doc.Save("filename.xlm") might not be working? Trying to do a simple routine - just loading an existing xml file and saving as another name onto local C: drive. Seems to run ok ie no errors, but the file doesn't save. 'Save' part of the doc.Save command is coming up as a different type colour in dreamweaver.
Also, secondary problem, getting error if use a long directory name in the doc.Save destination filename - comes up with 'URI formats are not supported'

I'm experimenting with the sql command builder and it seems to do nothing when trying to update existing rows. If I create a new row and then add it then it works fine but I cant seem to update an existing record.

My Find/Replace Edit Menu command inside VB 2005 is not working anymore, and SQL Server 2005 as well. When I tried to check this feature in Microsoft Office applications, there is no problem at all. It's mysterious, I don't know what happen. I also tried to re-install VB and SQL, but still it didn't work.I know it is a petty problem, but it plays an important role when editing your codes.

I have an asp.net gridview that is originally bound to a sqldatasource control, but when the user presses an external button, it instead gets the contents of a datatable rather than a SQLdatasource control. I therefore had to write code in the PageIndexChanging event of the gridview to allow for paging. My code is as follows:

This worked beautifully until I added an AJAX update panel so the whole page wouldn't postback every time it paged, and paging stopped working. I debugged it and discovered that it is actually calling the PageIndexChanging event, but nothing is happening. I searched the web and found a few people with the same problem, but their solutions did not work for me. There was one on this site whose problem was solved by the following:
In PageIndexchanging event, where you bind data to grid, make sure, data is again fetched from the DB
I don't know what that means; my data was being bound as demonstrated above. I have "enable paging" set to true and EnableSortingAndPagingCallbacks set to false.

I currently have 2 forms, one with a listview and the other with a button coded to add an item to the listview. I've just discovered though that any command, no matter how right the syntax, to a form from a different form doesn't work. The only command that does work is Form2.Show. Otherwise nothing happens. There are no errors whatsoever. All the items in each form are all set to public.
