Highlight A Field When I Click On It?

I'm not sure how to even ask for what I need. I have a form with many input fields. Here is what I want to do. When I click on a field I want the contents to highlight and then if any new data is entered it will overwrite the current contents. The way it is now, when I click on a field if there is any data in the field I must first use the delete key or the backspace key to get rid of the current data. If I just type the new data it just inserts it. For example, if the field has "Bob" in it and I want to replace it with "Jack" I have to delete the contents. If I start typeing I may end up with "BobJack", or "BoJackb" or "BJackob" or so on. I want to overwrite the existing data. BobJack

having a button and text box. And when you click the button, the text in the text box highlights and is copied to your clipboard it one quick move. I'm building this code in VB (Microsoft, Visual Basic 2010).

When we left click a grid cell, or list item, it highlights. Left click outside it and the selection jumps to the new place.
I can RIGHT click anywhere in the grid without disturbing an existing highlight, but I want it to work more like windows explorer would in terms of file selection..
i.e. if I right click inside the range, the range stays, if I right click outside the range, the range moves to a new single cell that I just right flicked.
Try it now on this page. Select some text, right click on the selection and it stays. Right click outside the selection and it goes. In datagrid (for example), the selection can only be modified with a left click.
How can we change this so the selection behaviour of a datagrid/list is more like this text pane?
On a related note. If I left click in a textbox I can drag a selection out. If i wanted to right click and drag the selection out, would it be the same process? (It's for a custom string manipulation picker control..)

I've got a simple textbox and as the user enters text in the textbox I display a label below with matching words (to what they are typing). When they click the DOWN or UP arrow I highlight one of the words below in the label.

I need to be able to double-click a row or column in a row to use a field (in this case the Student ID field, the 4th column if counting form 0) to get that row from a database onto a separate form and be able to edit and save it. I have no idea how to make this happen since it is not covered in the class beyond basically displaying database data in DataGridView, I chose to use this functionality in my final project (to be fancy I guess) with the thought that it will be easy to accomplish but am finding it is not quite as easy as I thought. From what I'm finding, there doesn't appear to be any particular function available to obtain the value from a particular field from a double clicked on row of a datagrid...
So if you wanted to double click on a particular result in a datagrid, then pass one or more of the values of that row, you couldn't?
I was thinking something like this, but of course that doesn't work, any ideas?

what I'm trying to do is setup my browser so that when I click an input field like a username, password, etc I would have a screen pop up where I can assign the "id" or "name" of the tag to a variable. I've have a editable pdf with button fields in it. I'm processing this editable pdf in my vb.net application using iTextsharp. I want to know, how to programmatically invoke the button field inside the pdf. Though, I'm using iTextSharp dll, i could not find any helpful resource to invoke and handle the button events. I'm *considering* a new project, but first I want to know if this is actually possible. Would there be a way for VB.NET to interact with a flash movie? What I'd like to do is fill out a field and click a button - or even just click a button inside the SWF. I wouldn't have access to the Flash source, so it would need to be all client-side.

is it possible to do a two way sync on the entire gridview when the user hits a button so you don't have to do an update every time a row is changed? because the user might check the box and then check another box then uncheck a box and it would be a lot of updates...

I am having trouble with a separate program that keeps saying Adobe flash is not installed. And I have tried everything but it still wont go away (that was off topic a bit). I have loads of images with white rectangles in them and I was wondering if there was a way to automatically crop them down so the rectangle was left. The pictures are pure black and white. The white box is in different locations on each picture. Does any one have any idea?
