I have created a form with three comboboxes. means
FirstNameComboBox
MiddleNameComboBox
LastNameComboBox
All fields are select ( name ) from a "CustomerName" table. "CustomerName" table is have more than ten thousand records. I am use three binding sources its worked great but it is very slow bcz three comboboxes are filled data on form loading time. I am using visual studio 2010 (visual basic).
I just added a toolstripcombobox on a toolstrip and I tried to use a dataset in order to show data in the toolstripcombobox.

Each row in the table has a parent id that links back to the table's primary key, and that defines the node hierarchy. So that relationship needs to be indicated in the databinding.
Am I able to use the standard treeview control in Visual Studio 2008, or do I need something extra to make this work?

I have the following problem, a table "table1" contains 10000 telephone numbers, this table is source for 5 combo box contained in a form, I need that when I select the first tel N in the first combo, this number is not any more available for the combo 2, when I select the second number in the second combo, the first 2 numbers of the table 1 are not any more available for the combo 3 etc. Every record (in form) contains 5 combo. The Tel N selected into the combo are source for other table called "table2". I've try with all the type of query between table 1 and table 2, and use the result as source for the combo, I've try with IIf but this is works only for the first combo.

1 Dataset , 8 data adapters
Textboxes are ok and binding .. fills by 1 data adapter
ComboBoxs are filled by 7 data adapters
The problem is 6 ComboBoxes data is from one table filtered by id1 i.e.:
cmb1 : select id2,content from table2 where id1 = 1
cmb2 : select id2,content from table2 where id1 = 2
cmb3 : select id2,content from table2 where id1 = 3
........

It's been a long while since I've done any VB.Net coding and need to bind some data to a form. I have multiple tables that share some common primary/foreign keys and need to easily be able to update them.
For example, I have a table with an ObjectID, TypeID, AreaID, and several other fields. When doing my layout, I need the TypeID (found only in the main table) to be a distinct value in a comboBox, and in the ComboBox which contains the Area to be the Area Description (from the main table tied to the Area table via the Area ID).

View 19 RepliesI have 5 combo boxes that need to show the same list of items that come from a single dataset table. I have managed to bind the datatable to the combo boxes no problem at all.. but when I run the application and select an item from one of the combo boxes all the others change to the item I selected. After some research I believe that this problem is something to do with using the one datasource so I have tried assigning the dataset datatable to 2 different variables and used them as datasources for 2 of the comboboxes but the same still happens.
A work around to this I can see is to call the same methods and SQL select statements 5 times over to get individual datasources for each combo box but this doing that sounds crazy to me. how I can get around this easily? Code snippet below shows 2 combox boxes and their datasources. I'm using VS2005, .Net 2

is it possible to have a single report from two different tables? Because I have been reading articles that are saying that it is not possible and a subreport should be implemented? Can anyone clarify this for me?
I've been retrieving the fields that I need for my report with inner join sql statement and setting it as the data source of the report that I had created but it doesn't show up when the crystal report viewer is loaded. I had the correct syntax based on testing on what is retrieved by the statement, the only problem is how should it be shown in a single report.

When the form loads there need to be multiple text boxes that are bound to the same table and field in the database, Inventory_Table.Quantity, to display the quantity of the inventory. From there, orders are read into the system adjusting the inventory as necessary.
I need to specify what row these are each supposed to be bound to, because right now it is binding them all to row 0, which makes sense but is not what I want. Is this possible? Heres the code I have to bind currently.

I am importing data from an excel file, and it is stored in a dataset. The data is then filtered with a binding source, and that data is outputted into a datagridview. The filtered data in the datagridview contains data for 2 identification numbers. I want to graph each ID number in a chart on their own bar, in either a stacked bar graph, or a double bar graph.
I am having trouble assigning each series to an ID number: I have tried using multiple binding sources, but each seems to override the previous giving too much/too little data. I have tried using multiple datagridviews, however I cannot assign more than one datagridview as the datasource for the chart. The code I have pasted below outputs a double bar graph, however both bars graph the same ID number.

When the form loads, and I select an item in one of the combo boxes, the same item is then selected in the other combo box. I want the combo boxes to work separately. Do I need to have two different collections, even though they would have the same data in them?

I want to maintain a list of potential ComboBox values over multiple executions of my program, and to use that list as the DataSource on multiple ComboBoxes. I also want changes made to the DataSource to propagate over all of the ComboBoxes already existing in the application.
Can someone recommend what type of object I should use as my DataSource, as My.Settings objects don't seem to support generic list objects.
Also, along with that recommendation, can I also ask for suggestions as to how to propagate the updates of the collection to all ComboBoxes? I would imagine I need a collection type which raises events when its contents change, but I can't think of any, and in any case do not know which are compatible with My.Settings.
