I want to get all the words before the tab into one array or to create a new text file and the all the words after the tab into another array or create a new text file too.
Here my function to get the words before tab into an array :

I wrote the above function to get all words before tab but I got all the words into array. I've been trying to use the Split method above. What is another method to split those words ?
I know this can be done with regular expression but I don't know regex yet. If you can show me how to get this done with regex it'll be awesome.
Changing Unknown Number Of Label Captions Using Unknown Length Array
Oct 22, 2009Using Access 2003 and VB code, I have created a form with a number of labels. The labels will display an employee's names. I have named the labels name1, name2, name3...etc. Using an ADO data set and DCount I have determined the number of names in an Access table (the number of names can vary). What I want to do is for each record in succession to pick the first name and surname from the data set , combine them into a full name (this part has been successful), and then set the full name into the label caption in succession. Example: full name 1 into name1, full name 2 into name2, full name 3 into name3... until all names appear as labels on the form.
I created a counter to and a variable to increment the label number but when I address the caption property of the variable containing the new label (e.g. name1, name2..etc.) it throws an errer at runtime. Here is the code:

We alter the extension of the csv files to match the server that processed the file; for instance a file with the name FooBar that was process by Server1 would land in the network share with the name FooBar.Server_1.
The information I have available to to me is file name: FooBar and the path to the share. I am not guaranteed the extension as there are multiple servers sending csv files to the network share. I am guaranteed that there will only be one FooBar file in the share.
Is there a method in .net 2.0 that can be used to get the extension of the csv armed only with the path and filename? Or do I need to craft my own?

I will always know the first part of the filename, but I won't always know the datetime. So how do I find this file so I can do something with it.It will always go in the same folder, and the only thing that's in this folder will be this daily file that's ftp'd and there's 1 other folder inside of it.All I can think of is, I'll know the extension, the date modified will always be the greatest, and the folder location will always be the same.I'll be using vb.net to do some manipulations on the file.

Jan 1, 2010I am reading text from a file (*.TXT) 1 line at a time using streamreader. As I read that input, I am looking for specific starting and ending character strings ("<" and ">") . When I find those strings, I would like to select the characters between those string and have it set to BOLD and BLUE before appending that input line to the contents of a richtextbox.The only way I have found to do this is to first append the input line to the richtextbox then use the richtextbox.selection (color and font) methods to change the text.

But, when I changed the mbd to accdb:

It resulted in errors:

I need to check the test result with the data from database, to find out which test result is failed. If there is a fail test result, I will show an alert to the operator and stop the checking process. Is there any way to open the file in read/write format? I should have admin privileges so access isn't an issue.
