In VS2008 we have menu Report->Data Sources... which opens "Report Data Sources" from here we can see Project data sources & we can add them into our report by pressing "Add to Report".but in VS2010 RC there is no such thing like this (no Data Sources... option inside Report menu)
View 1 RepliesI am trying to generate a report using Crystal studio that takes a public variable from the vb.net application. I think the best way to do it is to just dynamically give the filter to the report at runtime, but I can't figure out how to set it up to take any information at runtime.

I'm having an issue rendering the report viewer (using SSRS 2k5) in the browser.When the report is loaded, I get bombarded with popups that say "Unable to load control". After all the popups, the report eventually load (thank god for firefox's prevent additional popup checkbox), yet none of the buttons work (each button causes the popup).

My application is using a sqlCe database. On form1, I dragged the dataset, from the datasource tab, onto the form. when the user clicks a button on form1, this is called:

on the crystal report, i went through the database expert wizard and selected the dataset from Create New Connection-->ADO.Net. I then dragged a field from my table onto the report. When the report is opened, though, the field is not shown.
I have an RDLC report that I am rendering directly to the Response Stream as PDF (rather than using the ReportViewer). In the code that renders the report, it's DataSource is bound to a List(Of ClassA) objects defined in a custom assembly. This seems to work for the most part. My problem is that I can't seem to handle the situation where a nested object is null. For example, given ClassA and ClassB (the nested object) defined as follows:

how I can reference a report variable in the Report Properties Code Window of a local report? I have tried Variables!Claimant.Value (for a variable called Claimant) but I get an error "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference." I have tried qualifying it with Report. and also with the report name in front of it but I get errors with this also.I have the variable CLaimant defined in the Variables section of the Report Properties.

I have created an application using vb.net 2008 and for reports Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 but the problem is, when I run the application in another machine away from developing box, I get the Load report failed notice. I don't have any idea on how I should approach this issue. I tried installing the CRRedist2008_x86 and CRRedist2005_x86 but still the problem won't go away.

View 2 RepliesWe are using Reporting Services to generate a purchase order, which is rendered as pdf before displaying on the screen. The report works well, as is, except that now we have to add a Terms & Conditions page to every PO. I've tried placing it in the footer, setting it to display only on the last page--this didn't work. I've also tried adding it to the body, setting the "Page Break Before" property to "true". This works, except that it looks like there is still space reserved for the header (i.e. the header's "show on last page" property is set to false). I can't get the Terms & conditions to fill the page. how I could attach or bind the pdf generated by reporting services with a pdf version of the Terms & Conditions sheet?
Note: We are using ASP & VB.NET 2.0, Visual Studio 2005, & SQL Server 2005.

Hence, I can compare the figure of the current month with the past few month.Right now, I do not have any problems building SQL_String for calculating the Total Qty Sold for the Current month and display it via DataGridView. I am trying to convert a VB6 Data Report (.dsr file) to a Crystal Report through the migration process within Visual Studio. I have read articles that reference adding a Data Report to a Project from Visual Studio 2005/2008 and that it will convert the Data Report to a Crystal Report, but I have not been successful in doing so. Does the VB6 Data Environment need to be converted too? Has anyone been able to do this successfully and if so, how?
