For example here i have create a user control. the user control contains labels. when the user hit right arrow button on keyboard, the control will appear on form1. when the user control is there. user can select a label. and when user hit buttons on keyboard, the label.text will change according to the button hit on the keyboard. i have done this code. i just write it roughly here.

I have created a user control and need to know how I can let the user change some of the properties of this control at runtime and have the values persist on next startup. There are multiple instances of this control on the form.
What I want to do is to make my application to SendMessage to another application. I can send message perfectly when i set keys.F1 or F2 etc in code but, I wonder, is it possible that user change this key in runtime? I was thinking about doing something like:
If combobox1.text = "F1" then SendMessage(pHwid,WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.F1,0) elseif combobox1.text = "F2" then SendMessage(pHwid,WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.F2,0) etc...
But I have 19 usable keys and alot of events with SendMessage function so code will be so big and there's possibility for slowing application. Is there anything that I can do, like... Dim hKey as STRING? INTEGER? WHATEVER... SendMessage(pHwid,WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.hKey,0) ?

I'm making a custom control that can be dragged around and it is semi transparent. I need it so that while it is moving (the mousemove event) that if it intersects a control that its parent becomes that control. I tried to have it iterate through all the controls and if control.bounds.intersectswith me.clientrectangle then me.parent = control type thing, but it did not work.
i've written an app to enumerate forms + controls in a project at runtime:
it lists form names in a listbox + when a control is selected, it lists hierarchical controls in a treeview. by selecting a control in the treeview you can view its properties in a propertygrid.
here's the problem: how can i use the propertygrid to actually persistently change those properties?
at the moment you can change properties in the propertygrid but it doesn't change the control's properties, either persistently or otherwise.
here's the code. (you can download the full project at: [URL]
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ListBox1.Items.AddRange((From t As Type In Me.GetType().Assembly.GetTypes() _ Where t.BaseType Is GetType(Form) _
i'm having one user control in asp.net ,i just want to add the user control multiple times in a single web page in runtime in a separate table. How to do this?
I am wondering if there is any code guide to teach me how to enable the user to draw as many buttons as possible on the windows form and be able to move and resize the buttons on the GUI and also tie the buttons to the timer to toggle the button colour when ever a condition is true
I want to program a water supply pipeline network in a treeview control. It has five node (junctions). The parent-child relation is based on a parameter (say pressure). Initially, the node 1 is parent and its child nodes are 2 and 3. The node 3 has child nodes 4 and 5. At run time the pressure changes. Now, node 3 is parent and its child nodes are 1, 4 and 5. The node 1 has child node 2.
I have a User Control with a label on it. I have a Master Page that I have dropped the User Control on. I have other .aspx pages that use the master page that has the user control on it.
What is the best way to change the text of that label on the user control from the .aspx page?

I have numberic updown control in my app. There may be times when I want to programatically change the vlaue (in which case I don't want to ValueChanged event handler code to run). There will certainly be times when the user makes a change (in which case, I would want the event handler code to run).
I have a User Control which is a customer input form.I'm working on a sales system, when generating a sale, the customer data is populated by a Javascript Auto Complete, but when loading a saved sale, I need to paste a User ID into the control programatically.
Renders my control on the page within the markup of the parent document (in this case it's called newSale.aspx)In the code behind in newSale.aspx.vb I need to be able to programmtically change the value of the Controls customerID attribute. I can't seem to do it.This is what I have done, following various Googling attempts, but it is always leaving the customerID as zero
Protected Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Me.Init customerForm1.customerID = "0" '// default Customer ID if no invoice number If Request.QueryString("invno") <> "" Then
I've got a couple of instances of a user control on a flowlayoutpanel. The user control has got a couple of controls on it, and very little / almost none of the control's original space is visible. I need to know when the mouse is inside the usercontrol. What then happens is that the border color changes (of a control in the user control), and when it leaves the control, it changes back to original state.
I tried the following: Private Sub ctrDashboardWidgetFrame_MouseEnter(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.MouseEnter Try ShowControls() Catch ex As Exception [Code] .....
And it works, but it only works when you move over the original visible space of the user control, and doesn't work when you move over the child controls inside the user control. How I'll be able to achieve this to also work while the user is inside the full user control and not just it's visible space?
I'm using VB.Net. I have a WPF User Control called "NavigationPanel" which I created with the Designer. By default, its scope is Public. When I change its scope to Friend in the file NavigationPanel.xaml.vb, I recieve the following error:
I have created multiple dropdown list at runtime and populated with data. I also have added an eventhandler to determine the selected value of the drop down list.
The code is as follows : Dim tbl As New Table() tbl.EnableViewState = "true"
I have an application going here Form1 has a panel on it named TargetPnl. I need my TargetPnl to display my user control named Vviewer when I click my SearchBtn and also need it to disappear when I click another button.
how can i call a VB function - deleteevent() in usercontrol.ascx.vb from a javascript function in clickhandler(e) in usercontrol.ascx. The call should cause a postback because I need the usercontrol to display the changes.I am currently trying to do it by using a linkbutton with style display:none, and calling its click event from the javascript function. But i dunno how to call the click event.
I have an aspx page that has two different user controls. I want to find user control A and be able to set properties, etc., from user control B.
I was thinking I could do something like this:
Dim CMFilters As Control = Me.Parent.FindControl("CMFilters")
...but that doesnt work to be able to set properties and call methods. I somehow need to get the user control and and declare it as that user control type.
In my application,I placed the user control on a panel,I want to resize that control on a panel automatically according to different screen resolution.
I now realize that it is incorrect because the container's InitializeComponent property initializations have not run yet and they must be run prior to Refresh being called.
How (where) can I run Refreash after the container has initialized this user control.[cod]e...

I am trying to build a tournament bracket application. In order to build the application efficiently I would like to make a user control "GameControl" that represents a game and give it attributes that represent the names of the competitors "TeamNameA" and "TeamNameB" ,an attribute "Winner" to represent which team should move on, and an attribute "NextRoundGame" that assigns another instance of the user control so that it can assign the "winner" to one of the "TeamName" attributes of the next round in the competition. If the controls were native to VB I feel like I could do it easily (I have only spent about 30 hours self teaching/tutorial following) but I can't seem to find out how to pass values to custom attributes of custom user controls through code.
I'm writing an application for a device running Windows XP. There are 2 versions of the device and each version has its own API to communicate with the device's software. The application I'm writing needs to pull the same data from the API. My question is how to write a application that will detect at runtime which version of the device it is on and use the appropriate API.
I've created an interface containing all of the common methods and also classes for each device that implement the interface. Now I need to know how to activate the correct one at runtime.
Public Interface IAPI Sub InitializeMachine() Function GetActiveProgram() As String
But my application sometimes needs to acces the registery for some special functions and is there a way to change the permisssion on runtime to 'requireAdministrator' with a button or something?
