Using Linq To Compare Listview?
Jun 12, 2011I've recently been exploring the uses of linq to use for comparisons,but really need a bit of a kickstart.Say for instance i have a listview populated with numbered names and I want to put up a message box if certain conflicts arise
such as this:-
This string combination is ok:-
1 fred
1 fred
2 fred
[code]....
So to summarize, the prefix number can only have one unique name assigned to it, and that unique combo can be used as often as you like.

This string stringSplit(0).tostring returns the city name say "Glasgow" i was trying to loop the listview that stores the cities, if they match then put a check mark, this is where the cities are located: (formAddCities.listViewCities.(FIRST ITEM IN COLUMN WHICH IS CITY NAME) the very first column in the listview, but i can't seem to get the right syntax?

May 27, 2012I have a listview with checkboxes for each items in the listview. You can see in the listview1_itemcheck event that when I tick and untick for each checkboxes in the listview, it will add the subitems text in the label. In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

DoDragDrop List View Item Reordering - User Can Drag Media Tracks From One Listview To Another Listview
Feb 12, 2010I have a media browser program I am building. I am trying to use drag/drop so a user can drag media tracks from one listview to another listview and then use the second list view as a playlist in windows media player com object. Reading at MSDN I have found out that there is no built in support for item re-ordering with the listview control. I have listview1 working correctly but when I try to reorder items in listview2, the dragged item ends up at the end of the list. So basically I need to get the item insertion index corrected. I have tried more than 10 times to get this code right.

Mar 15, 2012I'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?

I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.

Statements like:

Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.
How can i get the column-name and cell-contents of the (3rd) column of the re-arranged table?

Compare A Picture With Another?
Jun 19, 2010Okay what i what to do is to compare one picture to another continuously untill it finds a change and then launches my code. Picture 1 - A picture i put to the form Picture 2 - I wont this to take a picture in a certain area and compare it to the first picture. lets say the first screen shot it took didn't match 'Picture 1' then it will keep taking pictures until it finds something different and when it finds something different it will launch my code.
I dont know if this is the right way to go since i heard something about pixel scanning but that's to hard since you have to find the exact RGB of that pixel. Also theirs like billions on the screen so it would be hard to find a change of color on the screen and then launch a code after that and keep repeating.
